Stopped for lunch on a trip up the coast with my daughter. We made a solid choice. Decided to split a bowl of seafood chowder of the day so we could sample it. With fresh herbs it was solid. She had a lobster roll with crispy fries that she thoroughly enjoyed. But I am here to talk about the oysters. I have been eating oysters for over 40 years and these selects were the best I’ve ever tasted by quite a bit. A dozen super fresh and expertly shucked with most of the liquor still in the shell. My brain wanted more but my stomach refused due to these being huge plump oysters. The lady that took care of us was super friendly and provided us with an excellent experience. Wish I lived closer as I would make this a regular trip. Good grief those oysters were good!

My partner & I dined here for the first time this weekend. We were seated at the O bar, which we truly enjoyed. Our server Julia was very attentive & welcoming! The oysters were amazing. The manager, Marina did an excellent job de-escalating an issue at a table near us. They truly make you feel welcome, the atmosphere was great, & the food was better. We will be returning!

Unreal spot for a day trip out from Booth Bay Harbor. My sister-in-law brought their newborn which the restaurant was more than accommodating for. Even brought him out a little rubber ducky. Savage pint of Guinness, dad had the Smithwicks and all were proper pours. Now we move to the food. We did the dozen oysters and they were up there with the best I’ve ever had. Super fair price point as well. Dad went with the bangers and mash, I went for the steak & ale pie. All was to die for. Wife got the crab cake burger that she demanded I cover in this highly anticipated review - she loved it! Lastly, I consider myself a coleslaw connoisseur and it truly was the finest slaw in this great land. All hail King Eider!!

My wife and I had another great dining experience at King Eider's Pub! We have eaten here just about every tip to Maine over the past 25 years. We started with fresh Damariscotta River oysters. The baked oysters were on point. The lobster roll was delicious on perfectly toasted bun. The cozy, historic pub atmosphere, with its brick walls and warm vibe, made the meal even more enjoyable. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the local craft beer selection paired wonderfully with our food. We can’t wait to return to this gem for more of their stellar seafood!

Just popped in because we were starving after a long drive on our 28th anniversary. Amazing place! Everything was perfect. Food was quick and hot. Would definitely recommend!

We stopped here for a late lunch on a Wednesday in November while vacationing in Maine. We were looking for a lobster restaurant in the same town but it was closed and we saw this at the end of the block. We didn’t have to wait for a table but the place is small. There’s only a few seats at the bar and maybe 10 tables downstairs. I’m it sure if there is more seating in an upstairs or not. Anyway, we both ordered the soup they had that day - some seafood chowder I don’t remember exactly, and a side salad. The soup was very good. The salad was good too. Our server was friendly. She gave us a tiny cup of m&ms with the bill. Prices were reasonable although the soup was more than I was thinking it would be but there was a lot of seafood in it and it was good. Parking was on the street and I think I remember it was metered. It was not difficult to find a parking spot at the time we were there anyway. Overall good experience.

We had crab cakes and roasted oysters as appetizers. The oysters were very good. My husband had the seafood pie for his entree. It had plenty of shrimp and lobster meat, and he enjoyed it! I had the steak band onion pie, which was very tasty. I forgot to take photos until I was finished; I couldn't eat it all. We sat down in the pub which was very comfortable and cozy. Great atmosphere with wooden booths and tables and mugs on the ceiling. We had the choice to go upstairs to dining room or in the pub. Service was good and although they were busy, we weren't hurried with time to eat appetizers before bringing the entrees. M&Ms were served with the check. Would recommend this restaurant.

We stopped in for an early dinner. It was perfect. Service was nice. We sat upstairs where it was a little quite. Food was perfect and hit the spot.

Yelp
Wow! What a delicious meal! Started with a couple of oysters, followed with haddock sandwich and coleslaw. Everything was absolutely fresh and delicious. Our waitress took care explaining things if we had questions and her service was excellent. I particularly liked the old rambling house as it had so much character. We will most certainly return.

Yelp
Great pub with great pub style food. They have both in door and outdoor seating. Lots of beers on draft and specialty drinks. We had barata salad, Caesar salad and chicken wings. One of the best barata salads I've ever had. Great for lunch or dinner. Have a great meal.

Yelp
A friend and I tried King Eider's Pub today for lunch. The atmosphere is cute. I very much liked the broiled haddock in the "nontraditional" fish and chips, and I absolutely loved the "chips." Someone recommended the chips (pub fries) to me, and I can see why. They were some of the best French fries I have ever had. My friend loved the seafood pot pie. Highly recommend both dishes!!

Yelp
Great restaurant. Second time there and wonderful food. The fried green beans were awesome. Lightly fried and no breading with excellent seasoning , kinda like Indian spice. The caprese sandwich was awesome, 2 or 3 full thick slices of tomatoes, tons of mozzarella cheese that was fresh, a few pieces of lettuce and light balsamic on a fresh soft ciabatta roll. The French fries were the best I have ever had, kinda like wedges that are hand cut and lightly fried and lightly seasoned with sea salt. The building itself is so cool and 3 levels in an old house, little nooks and crannies everywhere. Great service, fresh brewed iced tea, maine made soda. Awesome

Yelp
Nice cozy feel to the place. We were sat right away on a Saturday afternoon. Still a bit early in the season yet. Nice oysters & the chicken wings dry rub were incredible! Wife had mussels and a salad. Nice little downtown area for shopping etc too. Check it out if you're in the area.

Yelp
Thanks for taking the time to respond to my review Scott. If you say the oysters didn't come from a 5 gallon bucket I'll believe you. However, they definitely DID NOT come from the shells they were served in; way too small. Plus when I was leaving I saw a woman sitting next to me had a dozen oyster shells on her plate and her shells were completely full. Looked like there were 2 oysters in each shell. Even commented to her that I was jealous that her oysters were so big. Made me wonder if she had ordered 2 dozen and they were served doubled up in 12 shells. In any event should I experience something like this again I will contact the manager regardless of who is present as you suggest.

Yelp
We only went there for drinks and an appetizer two days in a row actually. The mussels were fantastic. A very friendly place with a huge selection of whiskey, not that we had any. The bartender was awesome and it being a hot day refilled our water glasses multiple times. We would definitely try it for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Disgusting Food & Terrible service. If you can't be kind to customers then don't work in hospitality. This establishment is not at all handicap accessible in any way shape or form. We drove an hour from Belfast to join our friends for dinner and were told that we couldn't sit next to them because it would confuse the wait staff. They couldn't handle separate bills or some nonsense. From the moment our server came to the table she had a bad attitude. The food was gross, halfway through our car ride home my daughter had to get out and throw up. The pot pie was a watery mess. Their versions of Brie was absolute garbage. The only redeeming factor was the gentleman who welcomed us with rubber ducky's for the kids and then he even turned sour once our server went crying to him after she couldn't handle her life when I asked if she was ok after dealing with her snark face all night. Overall a place you can certainly do without wasting your time or money on. Note to staff: leave your personal issues at home. Take some acting classes if need be.

Yelp
Really good food with an interesting menu. A cozy respite on a cold and rainy day. Warm and accommodating staff. Timely service and plain good food.

Yelp
Stopped in here while the fam was shopping. I ordered a local IPA and the oysters Newburg. Both were delish! The service was friendly and I would return most definitely

Yelp
Another day another lunch and search for all the seafood.... Well it's just before "in season" and finding Damariscotta oysters pre in season has been brutal! We finally found this pub that has them, so off we went. Admittedly this review is based on oysters and 1 app only. Based off of that the rating is a 4 because the oysters on the half shell were to die for. This area has the best oysters I've ever had. EVER. our server was nice and the atmosphere was very close knit pub for sure. The app we got was the baked Brie plate - it came with focaccia bread, sliced fruit and a generous bowl of melted Brie. The fruit was fresh and the bread was yummy. The Brie was "meh" it tasted more of a type of sliced Brie as opposed to one you melt. And it was a bowl of all melt, not a slice heated - it was Brie fondue. It was fine. Did I hate it? No! Would I ever order it again? No. Would I sit there and eat every oyster they had? Yes. Over and over again. Queer o meter was a 10. No discomfort here. Go and eat all the oysters you want! Cheers!

Yelp
King Eiders is a must visit if you're in the Newcastle/Damariscotta area. Famous for their oysters farmed from the nearby river, everything is always fresh, flavorful, and generous. I eat here a lot and have never had a bad meal. I love lobster and their shore dinner is over the top. Local Maine lobster, mussels, cole slaw and fries. Can't go wrong. They are well known for their crab cakes and seafood pot pie. The menu is classic pub grub with an upgrade. Bangers and mash, steak, salmon all menu staples, or just chill out at the cozy oyster bar upstairs with a Guinness and couple oysters. They have a full bar, signature cocktails and there is a nice selection of locally brewed beer and wine. You will always find a specials menu and a dessert menu. King Eider's has a pretty active social media presence you can find them on Facebook and follow for the pubs hours and specials. The building itself is historic and oozes that classic pub vibe. The challenge with the building is that there are a lot of stairs - which some people may have a hard time navigating. The setting is cozy, it can get loud because the space is smallish. The outside dining area is neat and is a good spot to people watch. Summertime this area is very touristy. There is a parking lot nearby that the local business share, parking on the street if you're lucky to get a spot, and the waterfront/boat launch across the street also offers free parking. The pub is a Damariscotta go-to, always busy, service is friendly, and if there is a wait - it's worth it. I promise.

Yelp
Entering is a bit tight and confusing as to where to wait for a table, but what can you do in old buildings :) It's worth the confusion ... We sat in the lower bar at a booth and the bartender who took care of us was excellent. I ordered a burger and it was good; my family ordered crab cakes and salmon and everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. The atmosphere was quiet for lunch, but the place had some cool decor. There were some flies that were annoying (most likely because we were close to the door) and under our table, my foot kept hitting a piece of paneling that was coming off of the wall so it may need a bit of TLC. Overall though an excellent find with good food.

Yelp
We went twice more to King Eider's this visit because a friend of ours likes their beer menu. It was actually better this time than the last few times we went. First time our server was totally disinterested and obviously didn't want to be there and barely spoke. Second time our server (Becky?) was awesome. Becky was friendly, made recommendations, and was just a great people person. Becky was also the only server I saw upstairs and was on the run most of the time. Food was good pub food (untraditional fish and chips and chicken sandwich), but kind of just tossed on the plate. You don't come here to admire the food, but it is good. The place is always packed, but centrally located with some outside seating. Not a favorite of mine, but a good meal if people don't want to walk to another place. Do not sit on the bottom floor, our friends here always say, and I experienced it, service is hit or miss. Wait just a few more minutes for a table on the second or third floor.

Yelp
My wife and I with Frinds met for an early dinner. Up on the top floor it was great. The atmosphere was great to look at the pictures inside and view out. The food from mussels and oysters to burgers and salad was excellent. Our server was great. A place to go back to again to order a dinner meal.

Yelp
Open all year around, they are a warm and welcoming establishment with excellent food, and in this hotbed town of seafood dining, they have a great raw bar where the fresh oysters from the river are on offer. The bar is on the cozy side, yet there is never any pressure to move you on so that your table may be used for other diners. The selection of beers on draft is somewhat limited due to the size of their bar, but they offer a "Mug Club" for regular customers. I highly recommend them.
google avatar

Kendra W.

Yelp
Outdoor seating but majority is indoor seating. There is a bar area in the basement as well. Large menu with a variety of options...hearty, healthy, seafood, bar food, etc. Friendly servers can help make a decision or suggestions. (ie add bacon to the grilled cheese, add BBQ seasoning to the fries). Substantial drink menu as well. If it looks busy Wait, they have a Wait list and they tell you when to check back in of they will call you.

Yelp
Blackened haddock sandwich with fries, fantastic! Big thick perfectly cooked spicy haddock and massive amount of delicious fries. Highly recommend! And great service at the bar - friendly & efficient bartender/waiter! Comfortable & pleasant atmosphere too!

Yelp
I've been to King Eider's a few times over the years and have always enjoyed my experience. Step inside to this small pub, which totally gives me all the UK pub meets New England seaside town (not that I've made it across the pond) King Eider's pub is certainly cozy ! There is seating upstairs, but I'm honestly not sure if I've sat up there. There are a couple of tables outside, but there isn't much of a view, besides people watching on Main Street. I started with the King's Margarita Perfecto, but the real standout cocktail of this meal was the Maine Blueberry Martini. I wish I had started with that martini, because by the time I was finished another sounded perfect. I'd have to agree with other Yelpers, the bartender had a strong pour! I wasn't super hungry, so I went with the Signature Salad. Delicious, but again probably should've just ordered something a little more substantial and for the sake of trying the oysters again. My fiancé went with the Buffalo chicken wrap, he seemed to enjoy it - he asked for it to be prepared with less Buffalo sauce than usual, and King Eider's obliged. I know there are plenty of seafood places you probably want to stake out on your trip but King Eider's is with the stop.

Yelp
Best corned beef and cabbage / boiled dinner we've ever had! My whole family raved about this, even the ones who aren't usually big fans of this type of thing, because the seasoning was perfect!! We've also eaten in, eaten on the patio, and done takeout on other occasions and have never been disappointed. One of our favorites from the regular menu is bangers and mash. Never disappoints!
google avatar

Peter D.

Yelp
Great food and service since the take-over!!! Our favorites stayed with new menu items like Thursday prime rib.

Heather S.

Yelp
The only problem I have with this place is I stay too long. Best steak and ale pie I've ever had and I'm a frequent UK and Ireland traveler. Great whiskey choices. I'm pleasantly surprised by the red wine selection. I don't drink US red wines and there were excellent choices from Spain and France. Great food, pours and vibe. Great Craic King Eiders.

Yelp
We made a last minute reservation and got the last table in the bar on a Friday night in August. We were greeted immediately by the host and our waitress was very friendly. She was able to make menu customizations. I had the crab sandwich which was disappointing. The crab cake was mostly filler. My husband had the hamburger which he said was very tasty. The fries were just OK. While we did not have any mixed drinks, their liquor selection looked impressive.
google avatar

Liz H.

Yelp
The food and service was wonderful! I had the Steak and Ale pie. Couldn't have been better. Our server (Becca?) and her trainee (Allison?) went above and beyond to assure that we were pleased. This was our first meal upon arriving in Maine and, in my opinion, the best. My friends had the haddock sandwich and raved about how good they were!

Steven T.

Yelp
King Eider's Pub never disappoints. Been going to the pub for thirty years. Great atmosphere, wonderful service, good food, and great beer selection. Only disappointment was no Baxter on tap today. However, Maine Beer Company "Lunch" served as a solid replacement. Get a reservation to ensure you have a table in the pub.

Yelp
Lovely homey pub-style interior, terrific menu with broad choices. Unusually strong whiskey menu (bourbon, rye, scotch, irish - whatever suits your fancy). The Wrapped In Flannel cocktail was fantastic - grab that one if you come this winter. Appetizers: we had the scallops wrapped with bacon, crab cakes, buffalo wings and mussels. They were all strong dishes, but the mussels and wings were unusually good. My daughter wolfed down her chicken piccata, and the rest of us very much enjoyed our steamed lobster with drawn butter. You just can't beat it.

Yelp
First time at the King's. I felt welcomed by the friendly staff, the great food and variety of drinks. It was a short visit for appetizers and drinks at the bar. The bar tender Rebecca was friendly and accommodating. Many thanks for the great service! We will definitely be back!!

Dan D.

Yelp
In the last year, I have eaten here 5 or 6 times. The mussels are consistently good. In this review, I want to complain about the seafood pot pie. I had ordered this twice before, each time, enjoying the dish. Tonight, the pie that I was served was horrible. The butter had separated from the cream. When the waitress asked us about the food. When I showed her the dish, she acknowledged the issue, and said she would convey my concern to the cook. I ended up paying full price for a dish I left uneaten. So, I would give the place 2 stars, it definitely could have been better in terms of food and service.

Christina M.

Yelp
Holy cow the seafood pot pie is to die for!!!! Their oysters are huge. The crab cakes were good, but that pot pie!!!! Service was awesome and quick. Good beer selection. Definitely a must visit!!

Ross S.

Yelp
Good food, fun atmosphere. Service was adequate. Waitress was a bit overworked but the host had great energy.

Yelp
The oysters are shucked for each order. Using a unique device that makes it easy to serve each oyster in its oceanic nectar.

Yelp
We explored Damariscotta last Sunday and stumbled onto King Elder's Pub and Restaurant. WOW! What a treat. We ordered a lot/way too much and were delighted to have ample leftovers. we started with one of their regular margaritas- superb- the bartender is gifted with a generous pour. now on to the apps and we just kept eating. Have the fries - just do it. Our wait person Ashley was the best. She made sure we hit the biggies. The falafel app was delish, the sauce made it. my full platter of spareribs was the meatiest juiciest I've ever had - even got 3 meals from them. Just order it. The salads were fresh, delicious and perfect. Ashley took care of us all the way through. Order a salad too. we sat upstairs, and by the time we left it was packed and jamming. nice vibe. Hard working staff- thanks so much Ashley- outstanding cocktails and food. what a fab place. We will be back.

Yelp
Great place to sit back and enjoy the out door seating. Just ordered a Bloody Mary that come with 3 chilled oysters. So good. My husband ordered the oysters with horseradish vodka. He said it was good too. Very friendly service and a beautiful day. A win win for us!

Brad C.

Yelp
First timer to KEP. Friendly staff, great food ( and choices) and a superb cupcake dessert. I thought I'd grown too old for cupcakes, but the chocolate c-cake, filled with a warm chocolate Jamisons gnosh, topped with a Bailey's buttercream icing. It's hard not to put this on the top of my all-time fav decadent desserts

Yelp
Exemplary execution of English pub grub. Your favorites taken to perfection. Yes, it is pricey, and the food incredibly dense--the perfect fare for a bitterly cold day. I have been to coastal big cities, paid the same and gotten crap. Not here. The brews in tap are on point. The crab cakes are chock full of crab. The only downside are that the crab was not left chunky like we like. The haddock picatta was tangy and balanced with salty. The stuffed haddock was an amazingly generous portion overstuffed with crab, lobster and scallop. That was the headliner of the meal. Needed a to go box. And will certainly return for more.

Yelp
Over the years we've enjoyed this delightful pub over and over. Always, we've enjoyed the service and found the offerings delicious. Once again, we headed here for lunch. After a short wait, we were shown to a booth upstairs. We noticed others who had reservations were seated earlier, but still the wait was brief. Our server was quick to greet us and offer drinks and appetizers. The first choice was as dozen local oysters served with cocktail sauce, horseradish and lemon and presented on the half shell on ice. Yep they were briny, fresh and delicious. Then entree choices arrived: seafood chowder in a light cream sauce, seafood pot pie-biscuit crust on the top and creamy inside brimming with chunks of fresh seafood, the crab cake sandwich lightly seared and served on brioche bun with lettuce, tomato and tarter sauce with a crunchy and not gooey coleslaw on the side, and the final and 4th entree was the special: lobster melt salad with a glob of melted Swiss cheese over fresh lobster on bed of greens. Afterwards we shared the bread pudding with caramel and rum deliciousnesses. We will always return. We left pleasantly full and very happy.

Yelp
A couple friends and I stopped here on our way back to Boothbay Harbor from a beach day at Pemaquid. Another friend has recommended stopping in Damariscotta for their oysters and since I'm a big oyster fan, I couldn't pass that up. King Eider's came up in my online search as having the best oysters in Damariscotta so we had to stop. There is outdoor dining but we opted to sit inside because there was a thunderstorm threatening. We sat on the first floor by the bar which, just be warned, is a pretty tight space so if you're paranoid about Covid, I would suggest sitting outside. In normal times, it would be perfectly cozy and pub-like! Another warning: they card everyone, no exceptions, so don't forget your ID like I did. Since we were here just for a quick snack my husband and I ordered oysters on the half shell and clam chowder. Honestly, I wasn't a big fan of the clam chowder but the oysters were great! I was initially a little put off by how large the oysters are since my preference is for small ones (had some sketchy large oysters in the past) but these were delicious! Everyone in my group ended up trying at least one. Also, one of my friends in our group ordered their mussels and truly there must've been 100 mussles in this bowl, it was amazing. The entire party of 6 ended up helping her eat them and we still couldn't finish them all so that's definitely a dish that's a good bang for your buck. I do wish we could've had a proper lunch/dinner but the oysters, chowder, and mussels hit the spot for a light snack.

Yelp
Having lived in big cities LA, Atlanta and Dallas and hitting all the pubs of note in each, King Eider's stands WAY out! In fact I would say it's heads and tails above. The staff is super friendly and accommodating (make sure and call ahead for a reservation) as this joint is popular. The food is a cut above normal pub food. We've been twice on this trip and had entrees the first visit and then apps / tappas style the second. Highlights for me are the pretzels with Brie and blue cheese, the honey Brie app. The beef pot pie is crazy good as is the seafood pot pie. Oysters are very clean and fresh as well. The only miss for me was untraditional fish and chips. Great selection of scotch and whisky, plus Guinness poured in the traditional manner. Do yourself a favor and give it try. Note: Pricing is prob above average but so is the food!
google avatar

Austin K.

Yelp
We got here around 7, and had a half hour wait for the 3 of us. We got the oysters here since Damariscotta oysters are supposed to be well-known, and while they were huge, we were able to find cheaper ones (it was ~$3) at other places such as Eventide. We also got cocktails - First Fire, Hot Cider Cocktail, and Allagash White, which were all good.
google avatar

Taals B.

Yelp
Great food. Ok service. Maybe they were super busy because it was Easter Sunday and we were in the area. We both got the burgers with pub fries and the food was so amazing that I forgot to take a picture . They have vegan options too which made me feel good because it is hard to find vegan options in "remote" Maine.

Yelp
Cozy place, super friendly and accommodating staff, adorable patio area. First time here and I'm a fan!

Yelp
There was a lot going on here... Overall - the food is somewhere between okay and good, but it is not worth the price. The service is okay but overall it seems like the restaurant does not value its customers. We were not seated until 15 minutes after our reservation ... our drinks came 30 minutes after we ordered, our apps 45 min, and our meal came 45 min after that -- our meals came an hour and 45 minutes after our reservation time! And we had a toddler with us, and his food even came out an hour after our reservation time... We sat outside - not by choice, and we were not notified of this when we made our reservation. Swarmed with mosquitoes the whole time with not a single apology about it-- and I mean like 100+. Chorizo mussels: the chorizo was literally like a Hillshire Farm sausage, not spicy at all. The broth was so bland, and the bread that came with it was not just under baked but actually still raw dough in the middle. Burgers: for $20+...no. Not a good burger to begin with. The brioche bun was great and maybe people like that it was just a really big piece of meat, but it was bland. Like not even a sprinkle of salt in it? It was disappointing. Order medium rare but received well done. French fries: ordered a big one for the table and they were so over cooked, dry, and chewy. The ones with our burgers were fine. Others ordered the seafood pot pie, and it was delicious, and we felt almost worth the cost but should have been a real pot pie. This was like a stew/bisque with a cracker over it. Quinoa cakes: SO BAD. And way overpriced.

Yelp
COVID and the service industry have taken a freaking hard hit. That being said, you have have two spectrums of customers coming in - particular ones and understanding ones that effect how they treat restaurant employees. We came into King Eiders with 7 adults and 2 babies under the age of 10 months. Coming in that can be an automatic red flag table but with some fair warnings to Jessie, she still reassured us that she was excited and ready to take on whatever came her way. Her knowledge and notice on food, bathroom door may getting stuck, or a baby changing station was very appreciated and did not go unnoticed. She even saves birds!!! How much better can she get. To top it off, the babies made a littleeeeeee mess and she was super understanding from what we could clean. THANK YOU JESSIE!!! YOU MADE OUR LAST NIGHT IN MAINE A MEMORABLE ONE IN THIS UNPRECEDENTED TIME!

Yelp
Excellent. We didn't make Reservations before getting there and drove 1.5 to eat there. We were fortunate to be able to make one while we were there. Did some local shopping while we waited. Got in on time, had a nice view from our window seat. The food was excellent and the service was great. The Seafood Pot Pie was delicious! Wish I had ordered it, but it was a little pricey for my budget. $31.99 for the lunch portion. The waitress did charge my card twice, one for mine and one for my cousins, but that was quickly resolved. Would recommend it if you're in the area.

Yelp
This was recommended by a friend and it was very good food and pleasant wait staff The oysters were grand in size and very fresh. The grilled chicken was very good. The French fries were homemade and just screaming for malted vinegar and salt

Steak and ale pie is fabulous....IF you add a side of veggies...that makes it TOPS!!! Without the veggies the pie is a bit overwhelming.....ps the veggies were nicely cooked - not over or underdone and not too much seasoning....nice job

Yelp
Ate there last year when Covid was in full swing. Got stuck in a corner and pretty much ignored by the waitress. The food was average and pricey. Live locally, Would not recommend. Many better restaurants in Damariscotta.

Yelp
We have been visiting King Eider's Pub for years now when we summer in Maine. This is quite possibly our favorite restaurant; the food is amazing, the staff is very friendly and they have a great drink menu. We have tried almost everything on the menu and it has never been anything but excellent. The chorizo mussels are a staple for us. I must caution anyone who is considering the oysters. Avoid them at all cost. Once you experience one of their Damariscotta River Oysters, whether raw, Rockefeller'd or roasted it will forever ruin all other oysters. Seriously, these are without question the finest oysters on the planet. Yes, they are pricey but trust me they're worth every penny. The team at the Pub is top notch and we don't want to pick any favorites... but Easter is our fav:) We love that they are all locals, engaging and simply wonderful! Roger and John

Yelp
They got rid of my favorite (longstanding) mussels with chorizo. Shame! Nuff said - have to add a few characters to make post eligible.
