King Kong Hostel - Bar Rotterdam

Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Hype I stayed at King Kong Hostel in Rotterdam and honestly, it was a huge letdown. First of all, there are no curtains between the beds – so forget about any kind of privacy. If you want to change clothes, your only option is to go to the toilet… which also didn’t have any towels or tissues to dry your hands. Not cool. There are no lockers, which meant we had to carry our stuff all the way from the 3rd floor down to the reception every time – and of course, no elevator. Good luck with heavy bags. Also, there was no drinking water available in the rooms or even on the entire floor. For a hostel claiming to be modern, that’s a basic miss. To top it off, our room didn’t even have a proper door – just an open entry. And the beds? Absolutely terrible. They were super unstable and uncomfortable – if one person turned in their sleep, the whole room felt it. Seriously, the beds were cheap and noisy, the kind you’d expect in a temporary shelter, not a trendy hostel. Not recommended at all unless you’re into sleepless nights, zero privacy, and carrying your backpack like it’s part of a CrossFit routine. Would not stay again.

Perfect cozy spot! Personally stayed at a non "curtain" room with 6 beds (stayed there with 2 other Friends), they have lockers Incase multiple individuals stay inside the same room, also loved the overal decorations around the other halls! Also definitely adored the art on the board they did by hand! Very whimsical 🩵

Bed was big but it was VERY unclear what bed you were supposed to take. The numbering wasn’t easy to figure out at all and seeing as you get charged if you take the wrong one…. Not cool. Also in the lower bunk the matress literally covered your outlet & in mine the upper outlet was BLOCKED OFF so i had to use to lowrr outlet and it bent my charger and was probably a fire risk😝. it’s very hot in the rooms and the street itself is very busy with a ton of bars so ite LOUDDDDD at night & opening the windows isn’t exaclty an option. Walkable distance from central station though so thats chill . Wifi was absolutely ass and i had to use data the entire time. The locker wss also set uo kind of annoyingly ? And thr light at my bed didnt work at all so that made life rlly difficult @ night . Did enjoy my stay besides these inconveniences 😋

Hostel King Kong is absolutely amazing! Such a cozy and welcoming place. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. The coffee is delicious and definitely worth trying. The terrace is a perfect spot to relax and meet new people. Everything about this place is just perfect. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I had bedbugs.....when I told them about it, they said they couldn't do anything about it..... company policies.....no refunds. If a customer has a bad experience.... always try to do something to make them leave with a good feeling.....even if it's a small gesture. I know you are at a good location.....so you probably don't care about unhappy customers.....but its still a bad look.

Very unfortunate to have to give this rating as hostel room, common area & kitchen were nice; as are staff & location. But, there were no lockers in the 6 bed dorm! A secure large personal locker is absolutely essential!! Hostel indicates that there are lockers on Booking.

For sure the best coffee in town! The staff are absolutely amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. I’d recommend going here for a drink with friends, a pleasant and affordable stay and most definitely a good time! See you soon 🫶🏻

We waited for a long time for the pizzas that were then served cold. You could also tell they were supermarket’s frozen pizzas. However, the waiters were very nice, welcoming and polite.
