You know you're amongst good company when everyone greets and speaks to you.
I was on the hunt for something wholesome to eat while passing through the area and Kingdom pop up as a good place for Soul Food. Since it wasn't too fast off the highway, I decided to stop in.
Upon walking in, you step in to the New Orleans themed cafe style restaurant. We wasn't sure which way to go but someone pointed out that we step through a second doorway to place our order for food. They were in the middle of placing new fresher items on the prep line, so they had me wait seven minutes to get it together. No biggie but I knew what I wanted, so I placed my order for meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans.
WOW! Was I happy I ordered what I ordered. The meatloaf was moist, flavorful, tender. The potatoes were creamy but thick, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the meatloaf. The green beans were no exception to the total wow factor of the meal. They threw in a piece of cornbread with the meal that was moist, flaky, and perfectly cooked.
Thec mark down is for the general condition of the establishment. While waiting in the dining area, another customer told me that the other section of the restaurant was cooler then the area I was sitting in while waiting for food. It was. And while eating, I was pestered by a couple little flies.
You know when you're around good company and food when you hear someone humming gospel, groups of people chatting and seeing how your meal is/was, and you don't want to leave. Lol! They fix those few little minor issues and this place can give a lot of restaurant's a run for their money.
