We walked in and were instantly greeted by very sweet workers. Our server, Brendan, was very friendly, very attentive, and very accommodating! We got the oysters on a half shell and they were phenomenal - they were all very fresh! We also got the shrimp & scallop alla vodka and the spicy tuna poke bowl, both were very delicious and very big portions! For dessert we ordered espresso martinis, we mentioned to Brendan that we wanted them for dessert so he recommended the chocolate baileys instead of the normal baileys and it totally elevated the drink!! Highly recommend this place for good vibes and a good time!

Google
One of our favorite places to eat when in St Augustine. My wife and I both enjoyed the meal greatly. Ordered oysters on the half for appetizer along with the artichoke spinach dip . Dip was excellent , and the oysters were so fresh and delicious . Our entrees were alo incredible . Blackened sea scallops for me and cod with basil sauce for my wife . Staff was great ,service always great . Thanks Kingfish for another amazing meal

Kingfish is usually our favorite place while staying at the Inn. We order togo, and eat on our balcony and have never had any complaints. Tonight, it just wasn't there. The crab cakes were horrible and pretty much set the tone for the rest of the meal. I got land and sea the ribs tasted old and were just slopped with bbq sauce. No flavor on the actual rib meat. Cornbread was burnt on the bottom. Coleslaw was the only thing I ate. He got horseradish crusted fish with rice and beans and green beans. He said the fish was nothing to brag about, green beans had no flavor and rice and beans tasted bad as well. Dont really understand what happened tonight but we ended up throwing everything away. Super disappointing.

Google
Dirty martini was delish. Goat Cheese app $12 is thumbs up. She had the Shrimp and Scallop vodka sauce $28 (good); I had the Captain's Platter $29. Desert was Key Lime pie $10 and Toasted Coconut Cake $12. Parking isn't too bad. Views are great, but it was a drizzley day so our outside view was hampered by the waterproofing. Server was a bit challenged to get to us through all these courses promptly as I think outside gets ignored somewhat. Just something we expect anymore. We just factor that in. We will return.

Google
What a find!!! Perfect outdoor seating area surrounded by palms and water. The food was delicious! Fresh fish and fresh veggies. Rice and beans were so good!

Google
Food is good... view is nice... could use some polishing but we dine here occasionally and enjoy it

Google
I really loved our overall experience at The Kingfish Grill today. The food, the service and the weather was just perfect today to dine outside. We’ve been coming here for years, I love the sushi too. Today we had the delicious oysters!! They were so fresh! I had the Mediterranean Salad with grilled shrimp and my husband had a delicious burger with the best coleslaw! Everything was spot on wonderful….

Ledianet A.

Yelp
Amazing place with a beautiful view. The food was incredible, everything was so good, perfect flavors and fresh fish and the service was perfect. I highly recommended this restaurant to everyone.

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Stopped in here before going on the St. Augustine night lights boat (which, BTW, highly recommend!) and the place was pretty empty for a Friday night. I sat right at the bar top and enjoyed two drinks. Espresso martini was delicious! The bartender was friendly & service was quick before they filled up. I would like to come back for the food and give that a try! They did have a parking lot, not too big but right around the corner was even more spaces to park in.

Janet M.

Yelp
We visited St Augustine over the weekend and we had this on our lists of restaurants to visit. We really loved our overall experience at The Kingfish Grill. Its nestle in the back of a yacht club overlooking the Tolomato River. The parking lot is quite large, but note there are several businesses in the club. The good news they have a shuttle that drives around and picks you up so your walk isn't too bad. When you walk thru the small garden, you can hear the live music playing and the vibe is so unique. The food, the service and the weather was just perfect to dine outside the night we went. As stated it was nighttime, so didn't get the view but I am sure it's speculated but listening to the waves surrounding us was amazing. We got the Calmari for appetizer, my husband got the Captain's platter, my kid got the shrimp platter and I got the NY strip steak. They offer sushi and so many other seafood meals. Oh I hear the crab cakes are to die for! Everything was amazing and cooked to perfection. Everything was spot on wonderful.... If visiting St Augustine this restaurant is a must try. If you live there then make a visit or two. It's worth every bite.

Ashley M.

Yelp
ROACHES! There were roaches and this isn't the first time! Stay away! The view is pretty, and it's on the water so I get the appeal.

Rich G.

Yelp
Excellent dinner tonight. Great service. The fish special was sheepshead which is excellent. Three got it blacked and one grilled. Comes with two sides. I had a fish sandwich. Great service from Josh. Good food and drinks. It's a 5.

Gabby S.

Yelp
We had a discount here from doing a boat tour and we were pleasantly surprised. They had live music and great staff. Our server was very nice and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the view. We did bit up a lot by bugs sitting outside but it was too nice on the water. Our drinks were great and reasonably priced and the food was great! The crab cakes and shrimp were tasty and their salads were fresh. Great time here!

Kim C.

Yelp
Plenty of outside seating opportunities. Inside seating with bar area & sushi prep area too. Bathrooms clean. Server was friendly - she got an order incorrect, but it was easily fixed. Got a 10% discount as we were headed out on the FL Water Tour boat. Food was good; not particularly great ... could've used some seasoning. Location is good - easy access.

Ella C.

Yelp
We had the Sesame crab cakes with datil pepper jelly as an appetizer, for dinner had the Horseradish encrusted Mahi, and had the Error in Judgement roll. Everything was great, the food the scenery and our server Samson. Will be back very soon!

Benjamin G.

Yelp
The food here was SO GOOD! The restaurant is right by the water, providing a fabulous view while we ate! Our server José was very friendly and attentive- I couldn't have asked for better service!

Anne B.

Yelp
We arrived prime time on a Friday eve and we were sat promptly. Ashley was our waitress and she could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious! We would definitely return.

Todd B.

Yelp
We had a reservation for the Sunset Cruise, which boards next door, and were aware of the 10% discount for dinner. As we had time, and were staying in the central city, we took an Uber ($12 with tip) and arrived early so we could try Kingfish Grill for dinner before our cruise. We're glad we did. An interesting place with interior seating and seating selections on the exterior patio (complete with entertainment), but we decided to sit inside as we had been out in the sun all day. No worries, we were set at a window with a very nice view overlooking the small port. Service was very good and drinks brought promptly. I selected the shrimp and scallops and my wife selected the fish sandwich. Both were quickly delivered, warm and tasty. This location is an interesting place and definitely worth a visit. Enjoy!

Angela M.

Yelp
My husband and I LOVED this place! We got the crab cakes and sushi for apps and both were absolutely delicious! I got the catch of the day, mahi and he got a pasta dish with shrimp and scallops. Everything was so delicious and reasonably priced. They have a cute outdoor area and it is in a marina so right on the water. I highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Emily M.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant right on the marina. The band was Big Pineapple a Jimmy Buffett style band only better sorry Jimmy. We stayed at here at the Kamachee inn so tropical feeling & peaceful. This restaurant was within walking distance. We ate outside on the deck we ordered the sword fish and the mahi sandwich both very good. Our waiter Mason was great he explained the specials and told us what was most popular which was super helpful since we have never been here before. We had a beer and house wine Merlot. Just a great feeling place to come out to when you need to get away from everything and everyone. I highly recommend it here when you need to feel like your on vacation but can't leave.

Amanda R.

Yelp
We will be in touch with management directly, but in the meantime, I will share some small feedback. We went a few Sat. Nights ago. We made reservations and it was a weird experience. Long story short, we waited an entire hour before food came (and my salmon was overcooked/dry). I filled up on bread, and no one asked us if we wanted an app. comped or offered anything like dessert. I believe I even put a note on the reservation about how we were celebrating a birthday, and nothing was delivered or mentioned about it. We were way too wiped out to think about celebrating. An 8:45 pm reservation and 9:45 pm main course service was not what we were expecting at all!!!

alyson c.

Yelp
We loved the casual atmosphere of this waterfront seafood restaurant! Our server Danielle was lovely and attentive. There was live music to enjoy along with a beautiful view. We started with the Sashimi Platter and then I had the poke bowl and my husband had the grouper special. We loved everything but the grouper, which was fine, just not great. We would definitely come here again.

Kori H.

Yelp
My husband and I split the Captains Platter, my son got the Alfredo My other son got the Shrimp Platter... Appetizer's were great too There was a live band playing Very great

Allison M.

Yelp
Really fresh seafood, beautiful view of the yacht harbor. Got the goat cheese appetizer twice because it was so good. Fun place to get a drink after a boat tour. Will definitely be returning when we are back in town!

Christy R.

Yelp
Food, Service AND Ambiance were WONDERFUL!! We ordered the fried oysters and grilled swordfish - both specials of the day - and both were outstanding!! Ashley was our server and she was friendly, explained the specials in detail, and checked on us often. We sat outside, and the views breeze we very nice. We will definitely be back.

KD E.

Yelp
Great smoked Salmon starter along with half rack ribs great place to casual dining. The outside music was good listening relaxing vibe.

Landon L.

Yelp
The atmosphere was good next to the water. The food was okay but really pricey. I got the tuna poke bowl and it was not a lot of food for the thirty dollars that it was. I barely got any fish and rice.

Matt M.

Yelp
Atmosphere is 5 star (*****) The Bar is 4 stars (****) The service is 5 star (*****) Parking is 3 star (***) The food is 2.5 stars (**) That is my complex rating system for a dinner that I really enjoyed. The setting is gorgeous next to the marina but more than that they have these amazing gas fire pits set up for you to enjoy a drink, a sit or a convo with your dinner companions. Service was so fluid and good, so no complaints there either. But the food. It was just not great, but I did not come for food, I came for the atmosphere so it did not take away from my night. What did we have? Bread Service - came out quick with whipped butter, may be my favorite dish of the night. Far East Salad - peanut dressing good, canned Lay Choy noodles and fresh greens. Meh. Blackened Fish Sandwich - fish had little flavor (it was not blackened), bun from Publix, grits were like flavorless soup. Fried Shrimp - great dish, fries were good too, coleslaw was also from Publix. So if you want fine dining, go elsewhere. If you want an amazing setting with great drinks, you have your spot.

Yelp
We ate at King Fish Grill before our night of lights tour by Florida water tours. They open at 4 o'clock on most days, and they're happy hour from 4 to 6 was actually not bad at all. We chose the Cabernet and for its price was very good. Customer service was amazing, everyone was very friendly. The food was very good, I enjoyed the captains platter which was a little bit of everything. Portions are very plentiful. We went on a Monday and it was busy by 6 PM, I imagine it gets busier as the weekend arrives.

Jean R.

Yelp
We have been going to Kingfish for some time and it never disappoints. I love the view of the boats in the marina and overlooking the water. The food is consistently good, and the ambiance is casual and comfortable. The fresh fish is a winner, plus they do have a sushi bar. Looking forward to going again soon.

Nikki F.

Yelp
Great restaurant with very tasty food! Had great drinks(skinny margarita & key lime martini)... sushi was amazing! Also had fried scallops! Key lime pie for dessert made it complete! Our waiter Anthony was wonderful! Funny, knowledgeable and quick with his service!

Carol H.

Yelp
We had never been here before last night. What an awesome place! The music was amazing, the food was so good. I had the Tuna Poke bowl, and I cannot wait to go back and get it again. Our waitress was very attentive,

Gwen ..

Yelp
Worst service from waiter Mason, extremely rude and unprofessional. We were a party of 5 (4 adults & a child). We asked for utensils as we only had 3 out of 5, asked twice and never got it, we eat with spoons. When finished our meals Mason asked if we wanted our bill, we said no and ordered another drink, when our drink came Mason again asked if we wanted our bill, seems like he was in a rush. It was a Saturday night, plenty of room and no one waiting for a table as it was almost 9pm. We told him that with the child's meal an ice cream was included and we would like to see the dessert menu, he kind of giggled and left. When he brought our dessert we ordered it he literally tossed it on the table, we had to reach over ourselves and hand dessert to each who ordered. I can't complain about the food, it was amazing BUT will never go back to a restaurant that allows this behavior. Looking at the reviews it seems to be a trench at Kingfish Grill. We are local from Nocatee and have always enjoyed going with friends and family from Europe when visiting. We will now find somewhere else to go. When I spoke with the manager and explained our treatment, he apologized and said he would handle the issue. Regarding the utensils, he said to his defense they run out of utensils real quick..... I said I can understand that but you are a restaurant, how can a restaurant run out of clean utensils ?? When leaving the restaurant Mason was making faces and laughing at us while talking to the manager behind his back and I actually told the manager to look and he did but Mason quickly looked away. Horrible to be treated this way.

Terry S.

Yelp
We had dinner at Kingfish grill tonight. All 4 meals were outstanding and the service was great. We plan to go a few times in the coming months until the restaurant moves to a new location in March. Highly recommend. We had a table outdoors which was also very nice

M S P.

Yelp
We decided on this at the last minute driving through on our way to Orlando. It is a great find! Very "old Florida" charm! We were seated immediately, the server offered terrific suggestions as the menu you see online are just a few of the great offerings! Food was delicious, reasonably priced and the views are really nice! Yachts came and went past our window during our dinner! We will be back!

Bill N.

Yelp
Food, service Nd view was excellent. Sat outside in the gazebo as there were 6 of us. Buffalo shrimp, grilles and blackened red fish very good as was sushi and New England seafood chowder.

Carla D.

Yelp
We decided to make an impromptu stop here for Father's Day. Turns out impromptu is the way to go. Why? We figured most places would be crowded due to the copious amounts of rain we had and the thunderstorms coming through, but were so pleasantly surprised when it wasn't busy and we scored a table outside on their covered patio. The hostess promptly seated us and our server (I can't remember his name, but he had gray hair and was SUPER jovial and just a delight) came out, took our drink orders, and when I asked what ales they had on tap, he brought me out and my parents a few samples, so we could make a decision. I opted to get the Reef Donkey ale, which was nice and light and perfect for the humid conditions. One of the reasons KingFish is a gem is because of the great marina and coastal views you get outside. I heard they were known for their sushi and when I asked our server for the menu he said that the sushi chef is a second generation classically trained sushi chef from Japan and our server mentioned he was half Japanese and this was some of the best sushi he's ever had, so I knew I had to try the sushi. We ordered a few starters: gator tail and clam strips. They came out hot and delicious, light breading on both, and each were tender. My dad ordered the soup of the day: andouille sausage with beer cheese (I took a sip....it was good, but a bit spicy for my liking), my mom and husband ordered the fish sandwich with mahi, and I ordered the tuna roll (not spicy). Everyone loved their meals. I did take a bite of the fish sandwich and it was flakey and well seasoned. I then dug into my sushi. It tasted fresh, the sushi rice was sticky and perfectly cooked. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the some type of chili powder/spiciness on top. My lips were en fuego, but to be honest, it tasted so good that I didn't mind. Pros: -Great service -Variety of items on the menu (they also have a kid's menu) -Beautiful views -Happy hour on the weekends (3-5pm...$2 domestic drafts), they also have a deal from 1 - 3pm mimosas, bloody mary's, and and sangria Cons: -Would have preferred no spice flakes on my sushi Tips: Check out their happy hour, you can't beat the view!

Cathy P.

Yelp
Ww heard it gets crowded here so we went on a Wednesday night with zero wait. Our waitress was awesome, I think her name was Megan and she was totally friendly, on top of what we needed to enjoy our meal. The kids all had the sushi rolls for dinner and Caesar salads. They ate every bite. The grownups opted for the flounder topped with crab and brown butter, and horseradish encrusted mahi mahi. Everything was fresh and to our liking. For dessert we had the coconut cake and the ice cream sandwich with extra chocolate sauce for the kids. Overall we really, really, really enjoyed our meal and highly recommend.

Brian B.

Yelp
Service was great, from the host to the server. Food was expensive and kind of mid. If you like eating near the water, the vibe was chill and slightly "mature casual yacht club." We shared a Bubba Gump roll to start and it was salty so no soy sauce! But overall the sushi roll was good. I had the horseradish encrusted mahi. The fish was cooked perfectly, nicely tender, flaky and juicy, but the flavors were lacking, and there was no signs of horseradish. The red beans and rice side was also a little crunchy. My friend got the Shrimp and Scallop alla vodka. The scallops had a strong fishy taste, but he said the shrimp and sauce were probably a 6 out of 10, after adding a little salt. This was my first experience, so I may give them one more try, as I've heard others rave about this place

Jennifer L.

Yelp
The atmosphere and service were great! The food was delicious! We went for lunch and felt it was a little pricey . The food was very flavorful and we enjoyed our lunch. We split the boil, which came with scallops, shrimp, 1 sausage, 1 ear of corn, crab legs. and 1 potato. We also got the conch fritters, which were really nicely cooked. All in all it's a good place for great food, but if you are going to get drinks as well, be prepared to pay a higher price as in most restaurants.

Harley F.

Yelp
The menu was excellent and the food was delicious and most enjoyable. The waitstaff was above and beyond with service and suggestions for drinks, appetizers and entrees. One of the best places we dined at while in St. Augustine.

Virginia T.

Yelp
The atmosphere is good. Service was good. We ordered a variety of items, each one was marginal at best. Will definitely not return. Not worth the money.

Amy H.

Yelp
Wow this place had gone downhill! We started visiting Kingdiah about 7 years ago , it was so conformant and we did not have to deal With the crowds downtown. Initially, we enjoyed the view, sushi and music . But, as the years past , the quality of the food has gotten worse. The menu never changed , same old unoriginal entree selection . When we visited this past Friday, food was horrible . My spinach salad was drenched in a string vinafar based dressing which caused me to choke after the first bite . The wait person was no where in sight to correct the problem., and she never came back to check on us after the food was brought our table . We stated with the smoked salmon appetizer and it was old and smelly and has a super fishy taste and therefore stopped after the we each took a bute.

Theresa E.

Yelp
We were doing a quick overnight on our way to Cape Canaveral and I found this restaurant on yelp, and decided to give it a try. It definitely has a beach feel to it and upon arrival everyone was very friendly and efficient in getting us seated. We ordered basic drinks from the bar and they were well-made. I had oysters on the half shell as an appetizer and the Ahi tuna for dinner. Both items were tasty and equal to the menu price. My partner had one of the fried fish combos and he really enjoyed it. I would eat here again when I'm in the area with the expectation that this is not fine dining but rather good food on the water.

Jeffrey T.

Yelp
The food is ok, not great. The people are nice and there is a nice view. The place could use remodeling.

Dena P.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. We had a large group of 13 in a Saturday night. They do not take reservations but we're able to get us in quickly. Sherry was our waitress and she was incredibly. She gave great suggestions and her service was impeccable. The food was as great as our service. Everyone loved what they ordered and we are all ready to go back next time we are in Saint Augustine. Thank you Sherry you made for a great experience.

Bill W.

Yelp
We rolled in about 5:00 PM on a Thursday. Luckily, we found a place to park fairly close to the restaurant. The parking lot is shared by several businesses and the marina, so parking can be a challenge. The restaurant does run a golf cart shuttle however, so one may call in for a ride if the only parking is in the hinterlands. The restaurant has both inside and outside seating with nice views of the ICW and marina. We were greeted and seated immediately. Mason took our drink orders and our appetizer request. We ordered calamari and it came within five minutes. It was a healthy serving and the three of us enjoyed it. Our entree orders were half rack ribs, shrimp and ribs, and salmon. The ribs were smoked on premises. We were served within ten to fifteen minutes. We each enjoyed our selections. Mason was very attentive to our needs. A nice lady, possibly the owner or manager, checked on us and discussion ensued about the glaze on the salmon. She went to the back to check with the chef. She told us it was some kind of brandy glaze. It was made also with pecans and my wife loved it. We got out there for around $100 for three people. We didn't get any alcohol even though it was happy hour. The only negative I see is the parking. The staff were welcoming and attentive, the food good, and the price was right.

John B.

Yelp
Great food and service! I had the New York strip and my wife had the baby spinach salad with grilled shrimp and both were perfect. Wife had the key lime pie martini and loved it. Our server Meadow was very attentive and was good about checking in with us. We skipped dessert because it seemed a little pricey ($10 for a piece of key lime pie). We sat outside and even after a hot day the temperature seemed cooler due to the shade. I also liked that it was further away from the hectic downtown and found closer parking available.

Todd H.

Yelp
Service was really slow. Food was fair. Location was ok. Live entertainment was fair and only played one song between stopping for drinks. Doubtful we will return.

Jean R.

Yelp
As always, the food was great. Love looking at the fabulous boats in the marina, and the ambiance was good. Service was very attentive and kept on top of things. Thank you for a great evening, once again. We will be back!

Yoniko W.

Yelp
Great spot off the harbor, and outside seating is very pretty. Ordered the swordfish special. The cheese grits were amazing. Service was very nice.

David S.

Yelp
We went to Kingfish Grill for a birthday lunch with a party of twelve. The service was outstanding. The food was very good with lots of options, including sushi. All of us were thoroughly impressed.

Bill M.

Yelp
Just stopped in for drinks while waiting for our wine cruise to start. Very friendly bartenders and staff. Lots of beer and cocktail choices. Great views !

Mark P.

Yelp
Went to dinner last night. After we were sat at the table waited over 30 min for someone to attend to our table. Food was very good bit not worth the wait.

Trang V.

Yelp
I had the pleasure to attend work Holiday dinner here this past weekend. The ambiance is cozy, we had a private room upstairs. The view is phenomenal, since we got to enjoy the sunset over the water. The food was great. I had the roasted filet, a bit over done so the texture was drier. Mahi mahi was the star of the night, I drizzle a bit of lime on top and it was light, crispy on the top and melted in my mouth. We hung out downstairs by the water for a bit at the end of the night. It was pretty crowded, so I'm sure it's a popular spot here in St. Augustine on the weekend. Plenty of outdoor seatings with fire pit to keep us warm. Parking can be tough because the lot isn't huge but they do have people on the cart to drive us to our cars, so that's always nice.

Michelle M.

Yelp
Delicious food. Great casual atmosphere. Friendly staff. Everything you want in a local spot.
