Kingfisher Fish & Chips

I dont normally write reviews because cant be bothered but i know times are tough for independent business so wanted to do my bit. I came in on a friday night, bit of a queue, normal and as expected. thought the food would be a bit dry or sitting in the heaters for a long time, but no, to my surprise the cook was cooking every fresh, what a surprise. My meal was freshly cooked, lovely bit of fish, chips were good and they weren't stingy. little one got chips and a sausage in batter and a drink and. definitely surprised me the quality and freshness of the food. will definitely be returning.

For £14 I would have expected a larger portion size. The chips were dry and the fish was completely bland. some items on the menu were also not available. Go to the plym fish bar instead, its portion sizes and food is much better, plus it is slightly cheaper.

This place is amazing. It quite possibly serves one of (if not the) best burger in Plymouth. I know it’s a fish and chip shop but it’s true. They’re cooked perfectly and have everything you need on a burger. They even make their own house burger sauce which is ace! Their sides are delicious (mac and cheese bites and onion rings especially) and everything is cooked from scratch and always delivered piping hot. Their staff are always friendly too. Just order a burger and you will not be disappointed. Bonus points for their range of desserts.

Fab fish and chips, freshly cooked. Nicely presented in the box and really filling. The staff are always friendly, too. My go-to chippy in Plympton.

Having lived in chaddlewood for several years, I Used to use this chippy regularly. Always found it to be one of the best places to get decent chips for many years in Plymouth. Since moving out the area , I have popped back especially to use this chippy as food and service was always great . Last couple of times have been extremely dissatisfied. Oil tastes weird . Yes it’s pricey , but so is every chip shop since cost of living crisis. Cannot fault the Staff , as they have always been friendly . Just need to do something about the old , weird tasting oil . Wish them all the best for the future

Just discovered this little nugget and I have to say it's one of best chippies around. Fish was succulent and fresh, decent portion of chips and I will definitely be coming back.

Awful chippy will definitely not be going back here again. Ordered a Cod and Chips and the fish batter was nearly black on one side and the portion sizes are awful; would’ve thought they were feeding a toddler. Staff extremely grumpy and moody and created a really bad atmosphere inside the shop.

Very disappointed with the fish and chip shop. It has been three years since I last used this chippy. They have a large sign over the door highlighting that they were number one eight years ago. How they have gone downhill! The fish was tasteless and horrible. The chips were old, more than likely, leftover from lunchtime. We spent £28, which will be the very last time Kingfisher gets any of our money.
