Kingfisher Hotel

I stayed at the Kingfisher hotel on the 14th of December 2025. It was such a pleasant stay. I was lucky to occupy a room from the new wing, which was opened just one week ago. The rooms were very well designed. It was spacious and had a good vibe. Most importantly it was comfortable. The staff was amazingly friendly. Priyantha, Sachintha and Sampath were some of them. Even the guy at the bar and all the others were super nice. Mr. Duminda, the owner, was around and was very hospitable. I would recommend the place. Ow the breakfast was also super good. Location is fantastic.

Fantastic location, beautiful rooms, good pricing. Relaxing holiday to have the sand under your feet in the beach restaurant and then a couple of steps down you are onto the beach and into the water. Good breakfast to start the day and Restaurant manager, Pradeep is so lovely and a bit of a fun character! It can be a bit noisy on weekends but that's to be expected when you are in the party strip. Staff were always helpful and friendly. Hope to return!🌸💖🌸

We had a great stay here. The rooms are lovely and we were offered a swap for a nicer view which we accepted and enjoyed very much. The staff were super helpful and the manger very attentive and kind. We didn’t experience the noisy party many others seem to have complained about and we’d happily stay here again.

Service and food was amazing. Rooms could have had shampoo, conditioner and maybe body soap. I stayed 5 nights and my room wasn’t cleaned once. The hotel was under construction with no notice prior. They have no pool but one is coming. No room service. Beautiful boutique style accommodation. Not 1000’s of people like a few properties along.

Kingfisher Beach Hotel: As a tourist guide, I’ve always prioritized the safety and comfort of my guests. Unfortunately, my experience at Kingfisher Beach Hotel was deeply disappointing. For the first time, I encountered a policy that requires guides and drivers to purchase a ticket just to accompany our guests to events. This not only hinders our ability to do our job but also compromises the overall guest experience. Because of this, I will not be bringing any guests back to this hotel in the future. I strongly urge the hotel to reconsider this policy to support the guides who ensure guest safety.

Don’t Visit Until There’s a Change in Management. I saw several negative comments published already, regarding the same manager. Beach parties at Kingfisher are well-known, and my friends and I went there on a weekend to experience it. We politely asked if we could bring our own bottle and pay a corkage fee, as the type of alcohol we wanted wasn’t available in their bar. The manager on duty refused outright, not because of policy, but because of the way he handled the situation. I completely respect that every establishment has rules, and customers should follow them. However, the attitude and ego displayed by the manager showed a complete lack of customer orientation. Instead of explaining or offering an alternative, he turned down a group of 10 paying guests and lost the business entirely. Today’s hospitality standards revolve around flexibility and customer care, but this manager seemed unaware of that. As a result, we took our group and our spending to Never Mind in Ahangama, which welcomes BYOB and offers a far friendlier experience. Highly recommended as an alternative.Until Kingfisher updates its approach, or its management, I don’t see a reason to return.

Our favorite spot to spend the day whenever we're in Galle. It offers excellent value for money, located right on the beach with convenient parking for several vehicles. The food is delicious, the service is exceptionally friendly, and there are plenty of sunbeds to relax on. During our visits we noticed they were building a swimming pool, that will even more augment the service offering. We highly recommend!

Stayed 4 days and 3 nights for my scuba diving course. First day was fine, but after that no room cleaning, no fresh towels, no water bottle, and only one small soap for the whole stay. No Wi-Fi even after many requests. Very disappointing service — better to find another hotel nearby.
