So bad treating local customers. They have not revealed tickets requirements until the last moment despite even visit them hours before. Their materials even do not mention a need for tickets. There are many places in neighbourhood who deals with customers politely. So bad to see that they do treat locals like this who have supported during struggles when the pandemic hits and when they stood on behalf of local businesses. I strongly do not recommend this place.

I went to this place with few of my friends for the night party and music Girls walk in free but from boys they charged 3000rs. With that rate one would expect a classy crowd without nonsense. But intact it was purely nasty. The crowd was behaving in a very uncivilized manner don’t maybe they don’t hold there alcohol well, what ever said and done don’t recommend this as a safe night club specially for solo travelers There’s not enough parking Tha lane is narrow

One of the most useless places in Galle .Please avoid this set of scammers made a reservation for a table of 6 on 11th Jan once reached to the location saying that tickets needs to be purchased for 3000 for gents and 2000 for ladies which even cannot be redeemed for food.

Great food and location. Recommend the seafood curry and rice. It’s not spicy but has the traditional southern flavor. Unawatuna beach is worth a visit and Kingfisher is right by the beach. Avoid bringing your car here, unless you cant help it.

We stayed for 2 nights. Rooms are nice and cozy they are building another 12 rooms next door which will be great to see when finished. The food was amazing . We had the seafood platter for 2 on the first night with cocktails and wine. Staff very friendly and helpful. The location is right on the beach, very entertaining watching the people go by. Only negative we arrived after 11am and could not get a beach towel, we asked 3 times but had to wait until the next day to get one at breakfast. When check in is after 1pm beach towels should be made available. We will be back!!

Our stay at the Kingfisher Hotel offered an interesting experience, albeit with some unexpected aspects. Upon arrival, we noticed that the sheets on the bed had stains, which was disappointing given the positive reviews we had read online. The bathroom, separated from the bedroom by unique saloon-style doors, was a bit quirky and nearly took out my wife in multiple moments across our 1 night stay. The dark tiles and accumulated grime in the shower area were also less than ideal. The air conditioning unit in our room was quite noisy and seemed in need of maintenance, which was a minor inconvenience during the evenings. While the beach nearby was not the best for swimming due to rough waters, it provided a pleasant setting for sunbathing, provided you could secure a sunbed and umbrella. On a positive note, the staff at the hotel were attentive and helpful whenever we interacted with them, which made our stay more enjoyable despite the property showing signs of age. In summary, our time at the Kingfisher Hotel was characterized by mixed impressions—highlighting the need for some improvements while appreciating the hospitality of the staff in a picturesque location.

Our family of 7 took 3 tuktuks from Galle to Unawatuna which took under 30 minutes and cost 2500 LKR (about £6) return each. The drivers dropped us at the Kingfisher which had been recommended by our hotel and they were happy to wait while we enjoyed lunch and absorbed the beach atmosphere. The menu and service were good and we were all happy with our choices. We used the sunloungers, walked along the beautiful sandy beach and some swam. The sea has big rolling breakers for surfers and we were happy to sit and watch. Not so happy to see the man with a snake and another with a sad little monkey on a rope. Unawatuna had lots of beach shops and looked a fun place to stay.
