Kingfisher Hotel

Place is pleasant beach front location. Good spot to relax and enjoy the sea breeze. Can enjoy the meal while taking in the coastal view. Dewala Road, is full with activities, adding to the vibrant energy of the place. Road can be buy at times. The streets come alive at night with various shops.

Plenty of choices along the beach front but Kingfisher restaurant gets my vote. Laid back, tables on the sand, candlelight, no thumping music, divine food (choose local dishes is my advice).

Visited this place thinking it’s Bangalore’s Kingfisher brand. They’re using the logo, but clearly they’re not from Kingfisher. They are charging 3000 for men without cover at 11:30 pm. They obviously have no idea how to run a club. 5 of us just wanted to grab a drink (2 couples & I) and was greeted by a racist man who assumed we were Sri Lankans and didn’t permit us inside. Then asked us where we’re from and when we said India, he asked us 3k for the men and ladies walk in. A group of Russian/Ukrainian men and women stood behind us and he invited them in (while they waited to pay just like us). I’ve never been made to feel so insignificant by an even more insignificant human being. The inside looked really tacky and the air was filled with overt drunkenness. Stay safe everyone! Tc

Love the large sea good platter. It's one of the best I have ever had. Love the location and the service was good too. I was here for just lunch and to enjoy the beach.

We checked the restaurant on our last night in the island and had a great experience! Perfect view. Shrimp were outstanding, oysters fresh and juice, tuna tartare and sashimi out of this world! 10/10 recommendation

I travel a lot (I've been to 100 plus countries and am fairly flexible) and I found this hotel disappointing compared to my expectations. The staff was friendly and it's right on the beach. Our room was nice and large and had a great shower and looked out to the beach however the main curtain over the front window didn't work and was down the entire we were there. They attempted to fix it and briefly jimmied it briefly but never came back to fix it so we never really enjoyed the view from the room. Just in front of the bathroom sink and counter is a 1 inch raised step that's tiled exactly the same as the rest of the bathroom and I stubbed my toe 10+ times it, as did my nephew. The hotel has a number of great beach chairs, however passersby who aren't staying at the hotel are free to use them so they can quickly start filling up in the morning. It would be nice if they would reserve the best beach chairs for hotel guests but you need to get up early and reserve them with your towel. There's also a bar/restaurant next door that plays LOUD music with LOUD fireworks every hour until at least midnight. I really like the staff at the hotel and the location, but I won't stay here again.

So bad treating local customers. They have not revealed tickets requirements until the last moment despite even visit them hours before. Their materials even do not mention a need for tickets. There are many places in neighbourhood who deals with customers politely. So bad to see that they do treat locals like this who have supported during struggles when the pandemic hits and when they stood on behalf of local businesses. I strongly do not recommend this place.
