Our first visit was all it took to determine that this is Auckland’s best restaurant. The food was exceptional - especially the crayfish taco which was a work of art! My Wapiti was amazing and the desserts finished the night perfectly. The room couldn’t have been cosier on a wet, cold winter’s night. But it was the service team that made the experience genuinely memorable. I’d mentioned when booking that we were celebrating my wife winning a new job. They greeted her with a genuine congratulations. Throughout the course of the night, they were attentive and delightfully friendly. We can’t wait to return.

We thoroughly enjoyed Kingi. Well worth the money, the quality of food was spot on! We got the 4 course meal which was so good, only thing I wishes is they let you choose the main dish, even if price changed slightly. Although the flounder was beautiful, preference would have been the snapper for me. The food was 5 star, the services was 5++ or waitress was very lovely (I think it was Gian/Korean waitress), the atmosphere was spot on too! Well worth it, A Must Try. Thank you.

We really enjoy our meal in Kingi, the waiters are all very spontaneous and friendly. the food is absolutely deliciousand presented gorgeously. We had wild waipiti nigiri, Wild Waipiti is the first time for me and will never forget the tenderness and soft like silk texture. I was expecting to have deep fry fish wing which didnt appears on their menue anymore, but, thanks to the waiter told us thats on the special menue if customer wants it they will prepare for us🥰🥰🥰 I got my wish! So never forget to ask whats their special that day 👍!! Hot smoke Kahawai, we love the horseradish cream, wish I can make the same thing at home next time. We also had Yellow Belly Flounder and Snaper. I completely devoured that flounder head to tail, nice flavour and so easy to handle 🤣 !! Great experience love it!!

Fish market visit is a wrap! Breakfast is calling! They've put together a great setting that combines elegance and relaxed dining. The hostess was super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt taken care of. We want to head back soon and enjoy some of their other tasty offerings.

You absolutely have to check out Kingi if you're in Auckland! I just went there recently, and their venison nigiri was so good, I'm still thinking about it – seriously, it was mind-blowing! Honestly, when I first heard "venison sushi," I was a bit curious, wondering if it would actually work. But after just one bite, all my doubts vanished! The venison is prepared perfectly as nigiri – tender, juicy, and not a hint of gaminess. It pairs incredibly well with the vinegared rice and their special sauce. Every bite is packed with layers of flavor, the unique taste of venison blending seamlessly with the delicate texture of the nigiri. This dish is definitely one of Kingi's star attractions, and it really shows how much the chefs understand their ingredients and how skilled they are. If you're in Auckland, you absolutely must try their venison nigiri; you'll regret it if you don't! Beyond the amazing food, I also really loved Kingi's atmosphere. The whole restaurant is designed to be stylish yet incredibly comfortable and inviting. The lighting is soft, and the tables are spaced out just right, giving each group enough privacy without feeling isolated. Whether you're on a date, catching up with friends, or even having a business meeting, it feels just right. The background music is subtle and doesn't interfere with conversation, actually adding to the relaxed and pleasant vibe. I particularly appreciate that it's such a great spot for gatherings; you can really let loose and chat freely, enjoying good food and each other's company. All in all, Kingi not only won me over with its incredibly delicious venison nigiri but also with its comfortable and inviting atmosphere. As someone who lives right here in Auckland, I truly believe Kingi is a restaurant worth visiting again and again. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for high-quality food and a great spot for a relaxed gathering!

First time having Flounder. This place doesn’t disappoint. The fish was perfectly seasoned and the meat melted off the bone. Was excellent pairing with a local lager. The sourdough bread was soft and tasted fresh. The burnt coconut was very tasty and lightly sweetened. The staff here was the friendliest staff I met in Auckland so far!

Very handy location as it's close to the train station, florist and bluebell cakery. If you need to celebrate a special occasion with a touch of elegance and you dont have much time then this is the spot. Yummy food and fast service.
