Great campground next to the river. We stayed two nights with dogs at space 11 walk-in site. ****Beware!!! There are a gazillion goathead stickers and were awful on the pups feet. We ended up spending $160 on booties for the dogs so they could walk around the campsite and raided the local recycling bin for cardboard to lay down under the tent to prevent the stickers poking through. Expect lots of OHV traffic because you’re close to the road. Aside from that was beautiful.

Great for last-minute van camping so close to downtown Moab. No reservations needed. At least right now. Amazing camp host. No access to water but water views of the Colorado River. Super clean pit toilet. No cell service for T-Mobile.

Great campsite on the Colorado river. We got a walk-in site as well as a normal drive in site. It’s first come first serve, but when we came at 8am, there were quite a few spots open (late April). If you are looking for a last minute spot, there’s a decent chance you can get something early in the morning. Most people left after 1 night or 2 and people leave their sites by 7-9am because they go explore the national parks etc. Close to arches and Canyonlands. 5 minutes from Moab; it’s great having gas stations and food right there while still being out in nature!! No water, no rv hookups, pit toilets with hand sanitizer, $20 a night. No shade at all in almost all the sites, and it gets hot in spring/summer in the morning and afternoon. The canyon walls block the sun in the evening, and it was lovely. You are quite close to your neighbors and there aren’t trees to dull the sound, so bring earplugs. We had noisy neighbors and there were a lot of ATVs driving by on the road. To save your spot, leave something obviously in your site and pay the fee. Easy peasy.

Peaceful and beautiful. No mega ants at this one either. Nice people in the area. So silent and big open sky. Restroom stayed clean during our stay too.

We were told we got lucky to get a spot. There's a pretty consistent flow of people looking for camping in the area, you just have to time it right and be lucky. Not a lot of privacy, but very close to Moab and Arches. Spotty service with verizon.

Magical! Utah is beautiful. We love camping in Moab, perfect weather and no traffic. Clean campground next to the Colorado river.

Very well maintained and cool atmosphere with the river right next to you and the tall cliffs behind it. Fee is expensive at $20 especially when you own annual NP pass and don’t get a discount.

The nature is epic here. For sure. Just wish it wasn’t side by side with electric wires and on the road where cars drive by. But beauty to look at and no bugs while we stayed. Bathrooms - good.

Yelp
Cold camping in Moab is brutal, especially if you're not someone very experienced with the outdoors like me. My partner brought me on such a fun winter adventure, made possible by Kings Bottom Campground. Since the weather was freezing (which my two huskies enjoyed) no one else was really around, so we had our pick of the litter when it came to camp sites. Payment process seemed to take awhile to figure out, but we did it. Plenty of parking, clean restrooms, readily-available dumpster for trash. Our camp site had a small fire pit and sizable bench. Love that my partner brought an 8-person tent for the two of us. Well, my huskies decided to join after the first night. Beautiful sights all around, especially at dawn. Quiet and safe spot overall next to the river and only a few minutes away from town. Surprisingly excited to stay here again!
