Kings Camp Private Game Reserve

Our experience at Kings Camp was truly outstanding and exceeded all our expectations. We traveled as a party of four—my wife, our two grown children, and myself—on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. The camp is exclusive, hosting fewer than 20 guests at a time, which made our stay feel intimate and special. The staff and service were exceptional; from the moment we arrived, we felt like part of the family. This welcoming atmosphere continued throughout our visit and culminated in a memorable moment when the entire staff sang and danced Happy Birthday (Kings Camp style) to my wife.||The food was excellent, served in a beautiful setting, and the kitchen staff happily accommodated all our dietary restrictions and preferences. Our rooms were luxurious, featuring colonial-style decor, four-poster beds, and both indoor and outdoor showers. The camp itself is idyllic and peaceful, surrounded by resident and passing wildlife. The waterhole was a real highlight—on our first morning, we enjoyed breakfast in the hide while watching a herd of elephants drink just feet away.||The game drives were the highlight of our trip to South Africa thanks to our exceptional guide, Cynet, and our skilled tracker, Sunnyboy. Cynet impressed us with deep knowledge of the wildlife and environment, as well as a patient and engaging approach that made every drive both educational and fun. Sunnyboy’s keen tracking skills ensured we never missed a sighting, and together, they created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere throughout each adventure. The Toyota vehicle offered great views from every seat, allowing us to get remarkably close to the animals and even look into their eyes. We saw the Big Five within the first 24 hours and so much wildlife that, by the end of our trip, we were searching for the rarer species.||I highly recommend Kings Camp to anyone interested in an unforgettable safari experience. We would return in a heartbeat.

A truly unbelievable and unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived at the beautiful entrance of Kings Camp, we were treated like royalty. The grounds, décor and styling are elegant, refined and effortlessly classy. Our room and bathroom were incredibly spacious, with a fully stocked complimentary mini-bar, wonderfully comfortable beds, and a private plunge pool perfect for cooling off. The food was sensational, and the drinks flowed freely — it’s a genuine 5-star experience (we’d give it more if we could!). What really blew us away were the surprises: breakfast out in the bush, a private dinner outside our room, and on our final night, an intimate dinner in a hidden corner of the property with the whole group, including our game driver. The game drives themselves were extraordinary. We saw so many animals — a newborn elephant being one of the standout moments — but what truly sets Kings Camp apart is the people. Every single member of staff goes above and beyond. They’re incredibly attentive, personable and genuinely happy. You can feel how much they love what they do. They are, without question, the heart of this place. A special shout-out to our game driver and spotters, “Remember” and “Elvis”. Their relentless effort to track animals, their knowledge, humour and even a little tipsy from the sun downers (and bush mix!). We could go on and on about how wonderful Kings Camp is. Don’t hesitate — you must experience this magical place for yourself

Kings Camp is an amazing experience! It has a max of 20 guests which means you are looked after extremely well. From the initial welcome to the waves goodbye you are taken care of. We had two game drives per day as well as a walking tour following a bush breakfast! Our guide Remember and tracker Elvis were amazing. We were able to view the Big Five with bonuses of wild dogs and ostriches.! They treated us to not just views of game but a wealth of interesting knowledge about the animals and Kruger National Park. I would highly recommend Kings Camp and if you consider this camp ask for Remember and Elvis as your guide and tracker, you will not be disappointed!

We spent a couple of days at King’s Camp and our stay was fantastic. Our suite was big, beautifully decorated and had a nice terasse. Only thing we didn’t quite like, was, that bathroom was without any walls, just part of the main room. However, there was a separate toilet. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, all very tasty, also beautifully displayed and portions were big. The gym was really outdated, it would have been good to do some proper work out. We were told that the gym is going to be renovated in the spring 2026. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The managers were looking after everybody all the time and made sure, that we could just relax and enjoy our experience. Cynet,our guide, and Sunnyboy, our tracker, were great and highly experienced professionals, who found us unforgettable sightings during every drive. We saw the big five plus a lot of wild animals, as well. I had previously been at the camp (2011) and had therefore very high expectations of our stay. However, King’s Camp was able to exceed them, once again. I can warmly recommend this lodge. It is really worth of going and I personally shall return there, one day.

It’s not often that we’re lost for words, but our experience at Kings Camp was a dream come true! The staff are exceptional at making you feel welcome and at ease from the moment you arrive. The hospitality and attentiveness is not temporary, it continues for the entirety of your stay. You truly feel part of their family and community. The suite was exceptional with an attention to detail and comfort not seen many times, if ever, at other hotels or lodges. The food was always of the highest standard and quality and provided excellent variety and choice. My wife is coeliac so has to have an adapted menu due to needing a strict gluten free diet and this was provided from the moment of arrival and all staff were aware of this need. We did not need to remind or mention it again. The Safari experience was nothing short of magical. Our guide Remember and tracker Elvis were so skilled, calm and professional. Watching them work was almost as joyous as viewing all of the incredible animals and wildlife we were able to view. We were able to see interactions and behaviours from the big five that we will never forget. The luxury and splendour of Kings Camp will never not impress, but it is the people who made this such a unique experience. The team go above and beyond for their guests. If you are considering a safari experience, Kings Camp is going to give you treasured memories and you will be taking part of it home in your heart forever. Thank you to everyone, we will be back! Kings Camp is a very special place that we will truly never forget. We visited on our honeymoon and couldn't have picked a more perfect place for the two of us. The staff and their level of service, the accommodations, the food, the game drives and everything else was out of this world. It almost feels surreal that we were there, and we were always very excited for every single game drive. Our guide, Neil, and our tracker, Donald, helped us with seeing everything we wanted to see and more - including the big 5, a cheetah, painted dogs, hyenas and more. They were also a lot of fun to hang out with. Neil was incredibly knowledgeable and patient whenever anyone had questions about the wildlife. He also helped us great some incredible pictures. The thing that stands out the most after looking back on our stay was how present we were. I had no desire to be on the phone, other than taking pictures. The only bad part about the whole trip was needing to leave! We hope to visit Kings Camp again, it will always hold a place in my heart.

We recently stayed at Kings Camp for 5 nights.|My husband had been 26 years ago and has been always talking about the experience.|All these years later appeared to be better than before!|Same managers, wonderful staff. Really well appointed. |The waterhole and hide is such a wonderful place to spend downtime.||Loved all the wonderful surprises - BBQs, Breakfast in the Bush, In Room Private Dinner.|Our guide Julia and Tracker Albert were amazing.|They went out of their way to ensure that each day was so unique and special.|We were also very fortunate to have a very fun group on majority of our drives.|We saw so much (in additon to the Big 5) and laughed a lot.|Highly recommend for so many reasons.

Had an absolutely stellar safari experience at Kings Camp. Our guide and tracker went above and beyond to find wildlife for us and share their wealth of knowledge, all while making us feel comfortable and secure. Lodgings and food were excellent - how often can you say you were greeted by giraffe, kudu, and other wildlife right from your own private deck!? And don't forget the underground photography hide! On top of all of that, the staff was friendly and made us all feel like family. A terrific facility and great adventure!
