Kings Camp Private Game Reserve

OH MY GOD. This place is fabulous!!! The rooms/property were gorgeous, the bathrooms/showers were STELLAR, the views were breathtaking, and the food was delicious. But above all that perfection, it is the kindness and genuine happiness of all the staff and safari guides/spotters that make this place so special. Truly everyone was so kind and considerate. The wait staff, the safari guides (ask for Neil & Donald...and then ask about the strike system ;)), the housekeeping, and all the concierges. Every little detail is thought of. Every need is already addressed before you need it. Everything is so perfectly curated to create an amazing, comfortable, experience. While staying in the camp (mid-August 2025) an entire herd of elephants came to the waterhole on the property and wallowed. I went into the King's Warden hide (on property) and got to see the entire thing from 10 feet away. It was a magical experience that words don't adequately explained (see the pic). Clearly, this place knows how to provide a perfect safari experience. I will be dreaming and reminisicing on these memories forever.

My expectations were high for our trip to Kings Camp and they were certainly surpassed. Everything about it was exceptional. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the camp itself is stunning, the room was beautiful. The food was great. There aren't enough superlatives to cover it! Of course the wildlife was phenomenal and our guide Jason, and tracker Albert, did a fantastic job of finding the wildlife, including being lucky enough to see a Cheetah hunt. I will never forget my trip to Kings Camp and can't wait to return!

We recently had the pleasure of working with the team at King’s Camp to host our kosher guests — and I just want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved. From start to finish, the experience was handled with incredible care, professionalism, and flexibility. The team went above and beyond to ensure that every request was met (often at a moment’s notice!), and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. It’s rare to find a lodge team that works so seamlessly — with such warmth, responsiveness, and genuine passion for hospitality. Hayley, Alon, and the entire King’s Camp family — thank you. Your effort, energy and dedication did not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for the way you looked after our guests. We look forward to working with you again soon.

My wife and I recently stayed at Kings Camp where we had an incredible experience. Throughout our stay every member of staff did everything possible to make our stay as memorable as possible. Everyone has a smile for you no matter the time of day and nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is excellently thought out and furnished to a very high standard with great amenities. Now the Safaris! Well this was our first experience of Safari and we were not disappointed. Our Guide Jason and Tracker Albert were excellent fun and totally focused on delivering on our expectations. Jason has a wealth of knowledge that he's eager to share at every opportunity. We saw 4 of the Big 5 on our first Drive and the experiences just kept coming over the time we were there. We would certainly return to Kings Camp if we were in the area again. While everyone involved in looking after us were great, a special thanks must go to Jason and Albert for enabling us to return with such great memories. Thanks guys.

Epic. Perfection. Heavenly. Every detail is thoughtfully executed from the moment you step out of the truck. We stayed in the Waterbuck Villa, hosted by Mama P who is the embodiment of a warm hug. She even make TikTok dances with my niece. Chef Lungi’s creations are incredible - the Chantilly crème and French toast breakfast! The whole house team took such excellent care of us. It felt like a family. Our guide Martin and tracker, Goodman, are safari whisperers. We saw everything you can imagine - baby elephants drinking in a water hole with 30 other elephants, lion cubs and multiple prides, a leopard at night, and so much more. They are also educators, sharing Nat Geo-like knowledge every step of the way. I will be forever impacted by the beauty of this country and its people thanks to Kings Camp. ||PS we stopped for sunset in front of a lake where two hippos basked in the watering hole one day. Hard to beat that.

My husband and I had the best stay at Kings Camp. The second we arrived we were treated like part of the family. The hospitality is out of the world. From the food to the drinks, everyone was top notch. There was thought put into every breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also there were always surprises for how the meals would go. Once we had breakfast out in the safari areas and had surprise private dinners on our deck! ||The lodge it self is immaculate. The grounds are beautifully maintained with lots of trees and greenery. There a beautiful large pool that elephants will come up to. The rooms are huge with full bathrooms that have bathtubs, indoor and outdoor showers! Fully stocked minibar with different liquors and beers, soft drinks, waters. We had a private plunge and also a fire pit. There was daily service in the rooms with downturn service as well while you were on the safaris.||Now the safaris… I mean the highlight of this camp. It was incredible. Our driver Cynet and watcher Sunny Boy were the best!! They were so friendly, sweet and easy to talk to. They ensured that we saw all the animals we wanted to see and more! They always got us as close to the animals as possible and kept us safe while doing it. Thank you to them for making this the most memorable vacation. ||If you are reading this, don’t hesitate to book. This place is truly magical. I know there are many other private reserves out there, but this place is very special. We will be back again

It is truly hard to put into words our experience at the Waterbuck Villa by Kings Camp. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed and at home. The lodge was impeccably clean, luxurious, full of charm, and the rooms were all so spacious and comfortable. The people, though, are truly what made our stay so memorable. They were all incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Their attention to detail and little surprises throughout our stay made it so memorable. A special mention to Eversmile who always had a smile and to Chef Efford who provided exceptionally delicious meals. We enjoyed once in a lifetime game drives thanks to our tracker Albert and our ranger Cynet. They were so knowledgable and we felt incredibly lucky to spend that time with them in the bush! They kept things fun and always had interesting facts to share. They always ensured our safety and made it their mission to have us see all the animals!! 10/10 experience, we cannot wait to come back and hope to see them all again soon!

In May, 2025, we stayed at the Private Villa at Kings Camp, Timbavati, with our 5 adult children. To say it was amazing would be an understatement. The food was spectacular, meticulously prepared by Chef Efford, the accommodations were top notch and our Host and Villa Manager Lodick and our Butler Zandile made sure that we wanted for nothing. Our guide Neil and our tracker Donald were both informative and determined to make our safari experience incredible. Thank you Kings Camp for making this a once in a lifetime experience and for making our son’s birthday in the Bush and Mother’s Day brunch extra special.
