I love King's Cross Station, it seems to go above and beyond what one would expect in a railway station, making it one of my favourites in the whole of Europe. It not only is a stunning train station, but it can also act as a tourist destination: Harry Potter fans rejoice as Platform 9 3/4 does exist and you can see it here, you don't even need a ticket to use the selfie opportunity.
Kings Cross Station is a stunning building that opened in 1852, on Euston Road, it is adjacent to the beautiful St Pancras International and has access onto every tube line from the underground station. This is great for continuing your journey around London and accompanies the bus services which stop right outside the station too.
I've visited Kings Cross multiple times now, just to walk around the station, admire the beauty, and visit the outlets inside the station. WHSmith, Waitrose, Starbucks and Leon all have locations here, with many more brands outside leading up to the station including Nando's and Dishoom.
More recently when travelling from the station, I was very impressed with how easy they made everything, you can walk straight out of the station, passing through the ticket-gates, without the need to pass all the shops. They also announce the platform with enough time in advance, to get on the train and settle in before the journey starts, credit must also go towards LNER, who use Kings Cross as the terminus for their London journeys.
The station is also served by Hull Trains, Grand Central, Great Northern, Thameslink and Lumo with most services using the East Coast Mainline and going into Yorkshire or Scotland. Some services are more local route such as to Finsbury Park and Cambridge.
The staff at the station seem friendly enough.
King's Cross has done a great job to make the travel experience easy, which many stations including London Euston can certainly learn from, they've made this station unique, accessible, efficient and a great place to start or end one's trip to London. I'm envious of the east coast that they get to travel into this station, while us west coast (Manchester) folks are stuck with Euston!
