Long Live Chile: Designer Maria Cornejo's Guide to the Best of Her Native Country

"The great thing about going to Chile from my home in New York is that there’s no huge time difference. We flew at night, woke up the next morning in Santiago, and got our feet on the ground at Kingston Family Vineyards in the Casablanca wine region."

As someone who loves going to wineries when I am home and also wherever I travel, this is a top contender for my favorite winery ever. The views/grounds are stunning, the staff were so lovely, and the food and wine were fantastic. It is a must visit if you are in the area. Thank you Carolina and the rest of the staff for taking such great care of us.

Hannah was a delight, clearly she has a passion and love for the winery! The view is also spectacular and we could have sat there for hours! Tour was great and we loved the cheese plate we purchased. Still trying to figure out how to make the whipped mascarpone cheese with cherries, one of the best things I’ve ever ate. After visiting 10 wineries this was my favorite, go! Also they have a wine club and could ship to the US.

Hands down the best winery experience we’ve ever had! From start to finish, everything was perfect. Hana gave us exceptional service — friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole visit so enjoyable. The wines were absolutely incredible, each one better than the last, and the views were simply breathtaking. We didn’t want to leave! This place is a must-visit if you’re in the Casablanca valley region.

🌟 Final Day in Santiago & An Incredible Experience at Kingston Family Vineyards 🍷 Location: Casablanca Wine Region, Chile Date: Wednesday, 05 November 2025 Weather: 51-76°F Today, Chuck and I had the pleasure of visiting the Kingston Family Vineyards for an unforgettable private Chilean cooking class paired with a delightful three-course lunch. Our local guide, Jose, took us off a remote country road and onto a hidden palm-lined drive, heightening our anticipation as we approached the stunning winery. As we stepped out of our vehicle, we were warmly welcomed by Carolina, our personal hospitality associate, who greeted us with a refreshing glass of Rosé. She introduced us to the intimate tasting salon that offered breathtaking views of the Casablanca Valley and shared the rich history of the Kingston family and their vineyards. Our adventure began with an enlightening tour of the property, winery, and cellar, culminating in a fabulous barrel tasting of their 2022 Kingston Family CJ Syrah—absolutely stunning! Next, we joined Chef Rodrigo for an incredible cooking class. We were excited yet curious about the day’s menu. Our first task was to prepare a marinated Chilean Yellowfin Tuna Sashimi, complemented by pumpkin flatbread, Chilean pebre (similar to pico de gallo), guacamole purée, and a Chardonnay Sour reminiscent of a Pisco Sour. After impressing Chef Rodrigo with our culinary skills, we enjoyed our Chardonnay Sour on the open-air veranda, soaking in the beauty of the Casablanca Valley. The sashimi was paired perfectly with a 2024 Kingston Family Sauvignon Blanc, showcasing Chef Rodrigo’s artistry in presentation and flavor. The culinary journey continued with two more exquisite courses, including a mouthwatering grilled beef filet, each paired impeccably by Carolina. The grand finale was a refreshing raspberry sorbet drizzled with chocolate Pinot Noir sauce and fresh strawberries, accompanied by a delightful 2023 Kingston Family Merlot—simply fantastic! All the Kingston Family wines we tasted today were beautifully crafted: well-rounded with a great tannic structure, perfectly balanced, and boasting vibrant acidity. The pairings were spot on—simply, wow! Kingston Family Vineyards masterfully blends the best of Old and New World winemaking, producing small lots of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc from their cool climate, hillside vineyards. They are one of the few Chilean vineyards harnessing Californian viticulture expertise to unlock the potential of their unique terroir, led by their talented winemaker, Andres Campana. We highly recommend this extraordinary gastronomic excursion for anyone visiting Chile’s Casablanca wine region. It was an outstanding experience, and we can’t wait to return! Cheers, Susan and Chuck

We were fortunate to have a wine pairing luncheon at Kingston Family Winery with Martin as our host. He first provided an interesting tour of the facility. For the luncheon he described the dishes (and made recommendations) and detailed the wines paired with the food. He was really good and the food and wines were superb! Highly recommended!

This winery was fantastic. Back in 2019 we had a charcuterie board and a wine tasting and all of the choices were fantastic. We took the metro and then a taxi to get here. I was out for the rest of the day.

Great wine, fantastic facilities, and the best staff! We came for a tour, tasting, and lunch, and everything was fantastic all around. Hanna was very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend Kingston for anyone traveling to Casablanca, Santiago, or Valparaiso. This has definitely been a highlight of our trip, and we will be back on our next trip to Chile!

My husband surprised me with a cooking class/ lunch and wine paring. From start to finish the whole experience was amazing. Karolena greeted us with 2 glasses of their rose, then briefed us on what we were doing. Because we aren’t fluent in Spanish she translated between the chef and us, though I understood majority of what the chef was saying. She was a great teacher. We made he first 2 courses with her of our 5 course lunch. We then moved to the patio for lunch and wine pairing. Seriously the view was everything in itself. Breathtaking. Karolena explained each course and wine perfectly. The food was amazing! The wine was amazing! The company was amazing. The view and vibe was amazing! The courses came at a good pace and we didn’t feel rushed. A con is each course was quite large for it being a 5 course meal. We had a couple bites each course to be able to taste and experience each one without feeling too full by the end. Thankfully they let us take away what we didn’t finish. They’re a smaller more boutique vineyard and can give more of a personable experience to each group or person. The 4 hours we were there, 3 other groups, about 8 people came and went. So very chill which added to the overall experience. I would definitely go back again for the hospitality, food, wine, and overall experience and vibe.

Yelp
Let's start off with the good: ambiance! While it may seem unexpected as you drove through the streets of Casablanca, Kingston welcomes you to a tucked away escape of rolling hills and views that carry on for miles. The moment you sent down, you are able to breathe and relax. Next: Service and offerings. Wine selection is wide, the menu making it easy to narrow down your choice by preference. Service was quite slow, and could be more attentive. In fact, we decided against a second round because it took too long to get any attention. Pro Tip: Don't sleep on the charcuterie board, and make sure to be prepared to give your full order and set expectations (such as, "we will be having a couple of glasses throughout our visit today"). This could help expedite service and ensure you'll enjoy your full visit.

Yelp
Arriving at this winery, I was overwhelmed by how modern and beautiful it is! The surrounding views are stunning! Our hostess, Francesca was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour of the property was time well spent. My favorite wine was the 2019 Alazan pinot. Since there is a distribution center in Oregon- you can purchase wine and have it shipped to the United States.

Yelp
Great wine, fantastic facilities, and the best staff! We came for a tour, tasting, and lunch, and everything was fantastic all around. Hanna was very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend Kingston for anyone traveling to Casablanca, Santiago, or Valparaiso. This has definitely been a highlight of our trip, and we will be back on our next trip to Chile! And the views were 180 degrees of unobstructed scenery!

Yelp
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We came in early on a Monday so we were the only ones there. The vineyard is well maintained. The tasting building is beautiful. Very peace y and the view is amazing. The employees were super friendly. We were only there for a tasting but were told that if you book it in advance they can have a multi course meal for you. The wines are delightful. We also loved seeing the horses roaming free as we were leaving. Such a wonderful experience.

Yelp
USD 50.00 tasting fee. Highest in its area. Avoid! Another shocker is they say free tastings with club membership. They scam you snd do not honor this even though their site says so. Who does this!! I'd do anything to earn a new member. But no!! Hannah refused to honor that snd lost me as a club membership. There are other much nicer wineries in the area. Several offer delicious local cuisine. Kingston does not !!! Skip this!!

Yelp
Can I live here, please?! What an absolutely beautiful vineyard and a great location in the Casablanca Valley. This place is the perfect excuse to start drinking at 9:30 in the morning (we had a 3-winery tour for the day). The main building is absolutely beautiful and modern, with nice restrooms (this is always an important tidbit, in my opinion, especially whilst drinking). We were greeted by a lovely young lady (she was from the US and it was suprising to encounter someone with English as their first language) that immediately poured us a nice glass of Rosé. We were taken around the grounds a bit while she told us the Kingston story, an interesting background, and got to see the barrel room where we had another taste directly from a barrel. We ended our tour with the tasting, paired with small bites to compliment the wines. Though I cannot remember the wine names, I do remember drinking every drop! Again, our hostess was very informative and didn't rush us through our tasting, letting us enjoy the bites and sips at our leisure. We ended the tasting with a nice espresso (probably a more appropriate drink for 9:30am LOL). I am not one of those people that is picky about wine, or knows basically anything about it, and I still very much enjoyed the tour and tasting. I highly recommend coming here if you visit the area, its worth the drive from Santiago for sure. You will definiltey not want to leave, its so gorgeous. Thank you KFV for being awesome. Keep up the good work.

Yelp
Location In the Casablanca Valley in between Santiago and Viña del Mar. Food/Wine Food is available with pre-order but we didn't order ahead of time so we just had the premium tasting. Actually, you should make reservations in advance. We didn't and were only able to have a tasting because a couple who had reservations allowed us to join their party. Tours are available too. In the the premium tasting we had 4 wines (and extra 5th pour because a bottle was already open) with four bites of cheese and chocolate paired with the wines. The host explained the interesting background story behind the winery. The wines were lovely and I found a few favorites. Atmosphere/decor Casual and reminiscent of California. The grounds are pretty. The tasting building is very modern and with the indoors open to the outdoors. We sat outside. Service Service is attentive and friendly. The owner and several employees speak English. Recommendation Go. Just make reservations first.

Yelp
The venue is gorgeous - the drive in from the road is pretty long and rough. But once you get there it's amazingly beautiful. Even though I didn't have reservation they were kind enough to allow me to enter to purchase some wine... Wish could have done the tasting. What I bought was really delicious...

Yelp
There is no sign at the entrance so unless you go with someone who knows they are there you might miss them. It is a small family winery (the owners are from/live in California) and it has an interesting story as the land has been in the family for many years and it was originally purchased by Mr. Kingston to mine gold. However, he never found gold but they are sure growing some great grapes and producing some very good wines at a very reasonable price. It is being ran by the daughter of Mr. Kingston and her husband Andy who happened to be there when we visited and made the experience that much more special as he took the time to show us around and do the tasting himself. They import their own wines and you can purchase them on line. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Wine is good, food is good, people are good, and scenery is good. Did the tour with a group and got to see the operation from vine to bottle. Got lucky with the weather and the view is quite amazing.

Yelp
Beautiful winery very nice staff and easy to get to. But the wine is ok not the best wine I've had and the tour. The lady giving the tour had poor knowledge of wine making and could not answer many questions my party had. Overpriced for the experience and extremely disappointed in the tour. I would consider other vineyards to visit in the area. The starts are for the architecture and ambiance of the vineyard not the wine.

Yelp
Kinston lacks a central classic "tasting room", at least at the moment, but it does have a terrace that overlooks a horizon that seems to go on and on uninterrupted for miles, making you feel as if you have reached the end of the world. The wines seemed more refined and elegant than many of the other offerings in the area. Notably, the food and wine pairing was EASILY the best I have experienced, a wonderful Unbutu moment of gorgeous textures and flavor, hedonism at its best. The Napa Valley should take some lessons. Interestingly for a small Chilean producer, these guys have a California connection, allowing them to set up a small production intercontinental wine club for American guests. Thumbs up. I don't know what their "regular" tasting might be like, because we were visiting en mass with more of a formal wine group, but they are capable of hosting corporate groups very well in an organized fashion.

Yelp
The wines are good but it was $14000 per person for four small tastes which did include cheese, bread and meat. But for roughly $20 didn't seem like a great value. Winery grounds are nice. Tour guides great and knowledgeable. I would just suggest a bit more wine for that cost.
