Love this wine store. Excellent curated selection. I've never had a bad bottle, no matter the price. In fact, I've only had great bottles. The staff are always knowledgeable. They have plenty of affordable options.

Lovely wineshop. Amy (?) was very welcoming and knowledgeable, pouring me a tasting of Beaujolais nouveau, and after I mentioned that I was looking for some local products as a souvenir, Hudson River Valley vermut! The space is very airy with nice wine-themed posters. I understand the shop is affiliated with Eliza, which had great natural wine (as well as great food).

This is a long awaited review but my experience w Kingston wine co was AMAZING. They recently introduced private tastings and we had the most lovely time with Sam during our tasting. She was super informative about the wines we were trying regions, backstories, etc and printed us out cute tasting cards to take notes on. She asked beforehand what kind of wines we like and did not disappoint. We had so much fun and would totally reccomend coming here for a private tasting with your friends, partners or coworkers - it’s pretty affordable considering private tastings in nyc are outrageously expensive. We did the food pairing in conjunction with the tasting and they do their parings with fletcher and Lu nextdoor. The food was soooo yummy! I wish I lived closer they have such good wines from producers I really like. Hoping to come back when I come back to Kingston!

Some of the staff are awesome here, but some of them are not. Everything is overpriced. I recommend the organic section at the Port Ewen liquor store! It’s small but tasty and the people there are all really nice and down to earth

Great wines with awesome descriptions! I’ve never been to a wine store in the Hudson Valley with so many unique options. This place is great and I always recommend my friends to check it out. They have so many great deals on wine that I find it hard to justify going to any other store.

Well curated selection of wine and spirits. Really friendly and accommodating staff. We were in the neighborhood at the time when restaurants were closed before dinner and wanted to a glass of wine. We ended up getting a screw top bottle from Kingston Wine Co and they gave us glasses to drink it with. It was perfect! Also the staff is really friendly with babies!

Every time I go to Kingston I make it a point to stop here. Beautiful wine and cider selection. I can’t find anything like this place close to me on Long Island. I’m always sure to stock up on some of my favorites here. I always ask a bunch of questions and they’re so helpful and informative. This is the spot if you like trying new local or international wines and ciders.

Interesting selection of wines, spirits, and hard ciders. I liked how helpful the employee was when we came in, explained the different local ciders they sell and also the wine she offered a tasting of. You'll definitely find something you want to try if you come here.

Had the Spuma! (Vino Frizzante) & had the best night of my life. Love this spot and can't recommend it enough. Whether you're local or just visiting, worth it.

My favorite wine shop! Truly. I have a couple of favorite wine shops in NYC but this wine shop in Kingston is such a gem! I love them so much that I drive up every few months to restock. Service is excellent and they are extremely knowledgeable.

This shop is an institution onto itself. If ever I'm within driving distance -- which isn't often -- I make it a point to swing by. Their highly and expertly curates inventory of wine (esp. those local to the NY region) is special and singular. The range of prices for their wines and spirits, while certainly not cheap, still covers a range where quality doesn't necessarily correlate with expensive. If you're a wine enthusiast and in New York State, just go.

The problem with too many options is the abundance of options. Seriously. It's science. Wife's a oenophile, and I was more than happy to oblige a fly-by to Kingston's newest (renovated? under new management?) wine shop, especially after peeping the vast craft cider selection and the dedicated rack to highly curated spirits. All reasonably priced, numbers penned large on the bottles themselves. Love the model: not carrying every vineyards' every juice, rather hand-picking the finest of various global regions and the best of all varietals. No matter what you bring home - whether from the $15 table or the higher-end reserves - you'll find each bottle delivers on its promise and hits the right notes. Definitely take a hot minute to read the pairing notes. My favorite: "Pour this with a bagel and lox and cream cheese, because why the hell not?" Why the hell not, indeed.

This is the wine store Kingston needs. I love the cute little pairing notes. I left today with an Orange wine which I'm excited to try, but I saw Empirical Spirits, which I will definitely be grabbing next time.

Tried to get the owner to purchase a wine we loved and refused to do this. Very strange way to treat customers. Better to buy in the city and have delivered upstate and contact importers direct to arrange we discovered.

Great little wine shop in Kingston's historic Roundout Waterfront District. The owner knows his inventory very well and will help you with your selection if you'd like. I was interested in bringing home a regional varietal, and I selected a Gamay Noir from Finger Lakes for $20. The shop has the standard bottle separation by nation, yet you'll find more uncommon labels, much less of the industry-standard wines you get in the supermarket stores. There is a $15 table filled with a variety of whites and reds. The shelves have wines with a wide range of pricing. Sparkling wine is also available. You may want to call ahead and see what days and times they will have tastings. A fine place to buy a fine wine.

Wonderful selection if you like natural wine! They have some difficult to find bottles but they are on the pricey side, although we couldn't resist buying about 10 bottles to bring home. Well worth the 25 minute drive over from Red Hook where we were staying.

Found this place while I was browsing on Instagram and I had to check it out. I absolutely loved this shop. I am not much of a wino so I usually ask for help when trying to find the right one for me. I met the owner, Mike, and he was so helpful! I told him what type of wine I was looking for and he gave me some great selections. The environment was very welcoming which is a nice change compared to some wine shops. All the prices are on the bottles and some have handwritten quirky descriptions on them. I liked the personal touch they added to make the place very down to earth. Don't forget to look through their "Under $15" table! I'll definitely be back when I'm in Kingston.

I was tipped off to this absolute gem of a wine store and made sure to stop while I was in the Hudson Valley. The selection of natural / biodynamic / otherwise offbeat wines is jaw-dropping. And it helps that the owner, Michael, is incredibly nice and clearly loves to share what he knows. Unfortunately I couldn't spend more than 15-20 minutes but I can't wait to come back next time I'm in the area.

I love seeing which wines catch the attention of shop owners- especially thoughtful and well curated shops like this one. It's fun for me to see different recommendations, learn about a new winery or region and bring a few new bottles home to try. I dragged my husband here during a recent visit to the area after reading about Kingston Wine Co. on a blog I follow and thinking it sounded right up my alley. The store is cozy and easy to navigate - clearly designed to encourage people to browse, ask questions and stumble across something new. The selection here is wonderful and unique - not what you'd expect at your typical wine store, and that's the entire point. Wines were organized by region as well as an area that organized by pairings - offering up suggestions based on food and Or you can just check out the helpful (and hilarious) tags scattered on bottles throughout the shop - offering up sage advice ("Artisinal + Cheap = Buy it") and pairing suggestions. From the look of it, they offer different tasting events here and seem to have fostered a real sense of community - every person we saw walk in the door chatted with the shop owner (we met Michael on our visit). He was friendly and quick to offer suggestions, tell us more about our choices or just chat about tastes and preferences. Kingston is lucky to have this little gem.

I wish this wine shop was closer to me so that I could visit more often! Great selection of natural and organic wines. Lots of different bottles you won't find elsewhere. Very knowledgable staff. Have never been disappointed by something I've purchased and I can find bottles under $15. Very impressed on my last visit with the cidre selection right from Normandy France.

I must admit, I am not much of a wine drinker. What's the difference between a Cab and a Merlot? I couldn't tell you. What pairs best with a fine Italian meal? I'm not really sure. When do you choose a white over a red? I haven't the slightest. Why am I qualified to write this review? I guess we'll see. Given my limited understanding of wine, I can feel a little out of my league when I walk into a wine store. When an employee asks me if I'm looking for something in particular, I generally respond with a blank stare of complete hopelessness. With any bit of luck, that person will take pity on me and walk me through the process with patience, but I can say that this is not the norm in my experience. However, at Kingston Wine Company, this appears to be the cornerstone of their most excellent operation. In a mere twenty minutes of browsing the shop, I received a deeper and more complete education on wine than I ever had before. On the day of our visit, the shop was offering a tasting of one of the Beaujolais Nouveau releases. What I appreciated most was that I wasn't just given a glass and made to wander about the shop. There was no feeling that the hard-sell was coming. Instead, I was given an A-Z education on the history of this selection, why it tastes the way it does, and how it's different from other wines. My attention was then brought to an enormous chalk-drawn map on the wall behind the counter. I was then given a crash course in the many ways that the geographic origins of the grapes influences the final product. We ended up purchasing a bottle of what we sampled and plan to open it during the Thanksgiving holiday. For a novice like myself, I really appreciated the attention I received at the Kingston Wine Company. The patience, education, and accessibility offered by the staff was unparalleled and makes awarding this five-star rating rather easy.

An exceptional experience for me. The company I work for is holding an event out in Mt Tremper and i could not seem to find a wine shop near by. sure enough i managed to find Kingston Wine Co. (KWC) and was received with a friendly gentleman, the owner, when i phoned. At any rate, i explained my situation and he was quick to let me know what he needed and was willing to work with me and even gave me recommended options for the vineyards i had requested. i really enjoyed the interaction every step of the way, but what really did it for me was when he said he would email or be there, he was. we ordered a good amount of booze and true to form the delivery was on time. I really appreciate that and I really enjoyed every step of the customer service experience i had. I will definitely be going back to KWC for my events in the Catskills area and nearby. I highly recommend this company. Thanks again guys and it was lovely to meet you both!

This store has an incredible selection of wine. Everything looked unique and interesting. There were so many natural/biodynamic wines, orange wines, wines from all over the world - all kinds of things that I don't see a ton of. The store is beautiful and every bottle it sells looks hand selected, beautiful and interesting. I was just sad it's in Kingston and not near where I live. I barely made it out with only 4 bottles - I wanted to buy many more!

The best. We live in NYC and make a point of stopping by to see Mike and check out the shop anytime we're nearby. We are also loyal wine club members and use KWC for personal and business gifts. Lastly we were fortunate to have Mike provide the wine and bubbles program for our wedding and he killed it!!! Suggested tasteful and affordable wine recommendations that were paired with our food menu - best wedding wines we've ever seen. KWC 4 LIFE.

Five-star ratings are thrown around a lot but here's the deal, Kingston Wine Co. is the benchmark of what a small local wine shop should aspire to be: a well-curated (not overwhelming) collection of wines and interesting spirits at all price points, an inviting space, and staff that is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We went in hoping to pick up a bottle for dinner and went home with several recommended (inexpensive bottles, I should note) wines that were not just good...but memorable. The shop is not exactly close for us but we're already planning on when to go back.

I've been a customer of the Kingston Wine Co. for over year, since shortly after they opened. We have bought wine from here at least twice a month every month since we discovered the Kingston Wine Co. Michael's knowledge and passion for wine make this store unique, because a visit to the store is like having a personal Sommelier. This is not hyperbole -- that is the experience you will find when you go to the store. The monthly wine-share is a great value, and a lovely way to be introduced to wines you might not have otherwise experienced.

One of the best!! Besides being a charming shop, Michael the owner really shares his knowledge with you and make picking a bottle of wine or whatever you're looking for so easy. Lots of good tips and great advice, I love being able to go there and have him share something new or different with me. Definitely a favorite spot of ours!

Do yourself a favor if in Kingston, visit the store, great recommendations parallel to knowledge. Fascinating choices, great prices and friendliest atmosphere. Let me partake of the greatest idea; prices written on every bottle with chalk... removed at the register, for all the stickiest $$$ I have to make disappear. So smart and simple !

Kingston Wine Co is a real gem, not only Kingston, but the greater Hudson Valley and Catskills. I have no doubt that KWC has, in their short tenure in the neighborhood, opened the minds of many, many patrons about what good wine can be. Their knowledge and love for wine go above and beyond and the constant flow of customers coming and going (and lingering) in the wine shop is a testament to the appreciation by everyone who drops in for a bottle or two.

Really nicely curated selection and helpful staff. We got a nice rose and couple of other fun odds and ends. And then I left my car keys on the counter like a space cadet and the owner was kind enough to run after me to return them. So this wine shop just made our weekend in more ways than one. Will definitely return the next time we are in town.

My favorite wine shop in the world, no hyperbole. A wonderful and wide range of goodies. The owner Michael knows his wine inside out and is oh so helpful when it comes to helping you pick out the best bottles for whatever you're looking for. (A house warming gift for a funky, barnyard-y red lover? A bright and cheery white to pair with the trout you just caught? This crazy aperitif you didn't even know you needed in your life?) Every neighborhood should have a wine shop like this. If we could only all be so lucky!
