Kinky Bar

130 pesos cover just to enter. Went for a friend’s birthday last Friday night. There is karaoke on the 2nd floor, which was fun but they didn’t wait for you to get onstage so the song would start before you were up there and they wouldn’t restart it. Also they closed the list at 3:45am even though they let us put songs on there before they warned us they wouldn’t have time to do the people they had already agreed to do. The top floor has music videos synchronized to the music playing and a scantily dressed man dancing. There’s also a balcony if you want fresh air on either floor. I only went because my friends said to, but I would never go here by choice. Paying a cover (even on a Friday night) makes no sense to me and I’ve been to other places with free/cheaper dancing/karaoke. I don’t drink alcohol so I can’t say if they make good drinks or not, but from what I could see on the menu they seem to cost more than the cover charge to enter. There’s also an employee in the bathrooms so you feel obligated to give more money as a tip for her to squirt soap into your hand and hand you a paper towel.

This is no longer Kinky Bar. Same space but rebranded as Marikoteca. Believe the other recent reviews. This is a horrible, unwelcoming and truly bizarre place. The ratio of staff to patrons was 20:1 and they stand around and watch you like hawks. You can’t go anywhere or do anything. Complete waste of time and money. One of the strangest bars I’ve ever been to!

I'm using my limited US data for this so you don't waste the 17 mins walking like I did. Not kink bar anymore, a new straight bar by a new name that may still be trying to profit off their inclusive kink predecessor.

It's not bad, but there's too many staff watching you like a criminal. Go to the bar and order, don't start a tab or things can get sketchy

The place is nice and the cover is ok. What I didn’t like is the way the waiters want to sell you bottles of alcohol like their life depends on it. The karaoke section was cool. We went on New Year’s Eve and it was fun. They had gogos dancing!

It was an incredible stressful experience, although it was packed and music was ok, the security and invasion of privacy was a huge turn off for me. Security looks over stalls, and I even saw one opening them when someone was inside - super invasive and you feel watched at all times.

There’s a cover, the night we went it was 150pesos per person. Drinks are reasonably priced compared to NYC, and the crowd is young. There are 3 floors of different music types, lots of bar areas to order, relatively clean bathrooms, and when we were there several drag performers throughout the night. Overall we had a great time! Would recommend and go back.

If you are a tourist, do not go to this bar! They add ridiculous fees onto your bill and won’t tell you what the charges are for unless you force them to take them off….too bad… nice bar but bad business. High entrance fee.
