Kinley Chattanooga Southside, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

My husband and I had the most wonderful stay at the Kinley Chattanooga Southside Hotel in Chattanooga, TN! From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely amazing. The room was beautiful, spotless, and so comfortable. You can truly tell they take pride in keeping the hotel clean and welcoming. The hospitality was outstanding. The valet team did an incredible job, and the front desk greeted everyone with the warmest smiles. When I needed assistance, someone from the front desk came up right away to help talk about excellent customer service! The location was perfect for us within walking distance to great restaurants and everything we wanted to explore. It made our trip even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Chattanooga.

The hotel is quaint and modern which we like, however its 1am & due to the room street being the street location, you won't get much sleep. Sirens all night and noisy cars.Very nice staff but wish they would have advised/warned us about the outside noise. Save your money and skip the valet parking and park directly across the street at the covered parking deck. That is where this hotel parks your car. Also, the room vents and shelves need dusting.

My fiancé and I came to the restaurant for breakfast and it was absolutely amazing! The server was new but very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. Offered some wonderful choices that she had tried. I am extremely impressed with this hotel and service.

Overall, a good experience, especially since I had to book at the at the last minute for a wedding. Clean and nice rooms with friendly service. I will say though I wish they had more parking options considering there is no free parking in the immediate area. Those Valet parking can get pricey. Breakfast is also not included in the bill and must add on which I didn't really like. The food however was tremendous.

As bonvoy gold , we were upgraded to king executive…which I found comparable to astandard room at an Aloft. Although The room was very clean and modern, it had no ambiance as tribute portfolios usually do. The sink was in the bedroom. We opted to park literally across the street for $11 a night rather than the valet for $24 as we stayed for 5 days and did not need the car. ..plus I hate waiting on valet(and guess where the valets parked the cars!)When we checked out, we were charged for parking …nbd…front desk gave me credit…then said something very rude about us parking across the street. Sorry..but I’m not about to take life advice from A hotel employee(he was handling the front desk as well as the valet )|The rest of the staff was fine…except the girl serving coffee…she gave me cold coffee and acted put out when asked for a fresh cup. |We went to the onsite speakeasy one night, it had great ambiance , but overpriced food that was not too good…and wine was way under poured …|Basically, there are many great places to stay and to eat in Chattanooga. When I go back, I think I will choose another.

Great experience at Kinley!! From our extremely friendly guest services, Eden to the quiet and comfortable room, my experience was five star. I would highly recommend and so convenient to Chattanooga’s downtown scene. I’ll definitely be back!!

Loved this place. All staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and comfortable with the typical Marriott accommodations. Location is amazing for so many food/drink venues directly across the street. The waterfront is about a mile, which was a perfect walk for us.

Really cool location located in the heart of the art district. Rooms are compact but very generous. The hotel was very clean and accommodating. Staff was amazing and very friendly/helpful. We grabbed reservations at Company (the "hidden" speakeasy) and the food was 10/10. Prime location for a night/weekend getaway. Despite what other reviewers have mentioned and as someone who spends plenty of time in hotels, our suite on the Main St side was quiet after 10pm on a Saturday night which is more than fair. Being a light sleeper and with the bus station across the street I got a great nights rest on a very comfy bed!

We loved our stay at this cute boutique hotel. It is in a great location to walk to good restaurants and nightlife. The Chattanooga Choo Choo station is right across the street and the buses are free to lots of spots. The staff take a lot of pride in their jobs. The hotel is quiet at night too. We got a coupon for breakfast because we are Bonvoy members. The lattes and food are excellent.

I stayed for 1 night at the Kinley hotel while in Chattanooga on business. The room was large and nicely set up. It was a long room in the corner with huge windows that faced the street. Since the hotel is only a few stories high, I had to close all of the blinds for some privacy when changing, which took a minute or two. The couch and TV area was perfect for relaxing after a lovely dinner in their speakeasy in the lobby. My bed was comfortable and I liked the free cookies they offered 24/7. My only complaint was the Peloton in the gym was out of calibration and when I let the front desk know they told me nobody had complained but they'd look into it being serviced. I like to ride and left weights during my work trips and this was the first time I'd seen it that out of calibration. It was a minor hiccup given the otherwise great experience I had at the hotel. I will definitely return this year.

This place has felt like walking into a fever dream every time we've gone. I don't really know how to exactly explain this but it's just how it felt. I guess from the interactions with staff that always seem slightly off like theres no way that was actually the experience. The rooms and beds are nice and the valet is great. The breakfast was great! The options are kinda limited and it's nothing special but the food itself is good. Really enjoyed the avocado toast. Got it gluten free. The lady at the coffee area was nice. The bar sucks. Truly the worst cocktails I've ever had. The bartenders act like they would rather be anywhere than serving a non regular. There are no gluten free options at dinner. I won't be staying here again and it's not the standard I expect from a tribute portfolio. I would not recommend it for the experience of staying here. I would recommend it for the location and because the rooms are comfy.

This would be a 5 star review if it wasn't in downtown Chattanooga. I would avoid the area at all costs. The Kinley Hotel has a lot of great qualities, but there are some aspects that are simply out of the hotel's control. One major issue is the smell that sometimes permeates downtown Chattanooga. Unfortunately, it's not something the hotel can fix, and it affects the entire area. That said, the service at the Kinley was excellent. The staff were friendly, and the valet team was particularly attentive. The rooms, while a bit on the small side, were functional and comfortable. One of the highlights of our stay was the speakeasy located in the back of the hotel. We really enjoyed the ambiance and the overall experience there. If I absolutely had to stay in a downtown Chattanooga hotel, the Kinley would be my choice. However, given the broader issues with the area, I would avoid the downtown part of the city if possible.

I went to the speakeasy and the chatter was boring with light music, which was so low one could barely hear. We left because it was so boring. The music is supposed to be turned up, and it doesn't even have to be loud. If they want to be like Atlanta or New York, then they need to step up the atmosphere which was lacking , as we couldn't wait to out of there. The drinks were great.

The Kinley is a super cute hotel. The rooms are great (lots of plugs, conveniences, comfy beds, etc.) and the staff is very friendly. We also had fun at The Company - the speakeasy bar at the hotel. Be sure to make a reservation (Open Table). We will definitely be back!!

The hotel was so well designed. We loved it as soon as we walked in the door. They have a signature scent that was soooo good that we bought a bottle of the spray Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. They even had a calendar of events to let us know about. The room was a bit small, but so we'll designed it didn't really feel like it. Everything was clean. The mattress was great and so were the pillows. The location of the hotel put us within walking distance of places to eat, drink and shop. It was great. We will definitely it hesitate to stay here again.

Nice location to everything around the Choo Choo. Staff was super nice. Room was super clean! The shower was ok and leaked a little out of the door.

Modern and very clean hotel and rooms . Everyone is so friendly and helpful here. Rooms aren't large at all but apparently larger than the Moxys rooms. Definitely recommend but be mindful of the room options . Either a king bed or bunk beds. I may ask what kind of mattress and pillows they use because probably the most comfortable 2 nights of sleep ever. The location is ideal across from The Choo Choo and the free electric shuttle buss service

Great atmosphere and location. This hotel is in the south side entertainment district with lots to walk to. The hotel is very unique and exciting.

BEST PLACE IN CHATTANOOGA! Easily my favorite hotel I've ever been to (and I've been to a handful). Here's why: AMAZING service (shout out to Sadie, Monique, Arthur, Joey, Michael and Edley) seriously all amazing people Beautiful rooms. Super clean and gorgeous design (floor to ceiling windows) Great location (across from Chattanooga Choo Choo, safe area) THEY HAVE A LOBBY DOG. A friendly extremely well mannered and trained Australian Shepherd hangs in their office and sometimes greets customers. His name is Edley and I think his job is to be an Instagram model for the hotel. I loved him and he just made my already good experience even more amazing. Thank you to all of the awesome staff who made my stay great! Please note the photo of the hotel bedroom was taken after I had slept in it. The rooms were pristinely clean, but I forgot to take a photo before!

First- this beautiful little gem of a hotel did not disappoint. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and modern and the people and service was exceptional. This review , however, is for the "hotel bar, dining space". We came down for a quick bite before hitting the road in the morning and the menus was a surprise- in the best way possible. My husband had the biscuits and gravy which was top notch and I had the flatbread with herbed cheese, pickled onions, smoked salmon and fried capers. It was absolutely delicious and I would come by this " hotel bar" again and again if I lived local. In a city with many options, this was a delightful surprise. Well done to the chef.

Contemporary new boutique hotel near the Chattanooga Choo-Choo. Walking distance to shopping and local eats. There's a coffee shop downstairs where you can grab breakfast, lunch or dinner - or some cocktails. If you're lucky enough you may find the speakeasy. The staff are so friendly and accommodating the moment you walk in. Valet parking is available. The Kinley is also a dog friendly hotel. We got to bring our small pup along with us for our business trip, but while we were there we also saw a giant Bernese Mountain Dog there for his stay, so pups of all sizes are welcome. The only negative I could complain about would be the bed's firmness and outside traffic noises. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and we would choose this hotel as an option upon our next visit to Chattanooga.

My husband and I came for a mini vacation for our anniversary! I loved the atmosphere and the staff was great! I would definitely recommend this if you haven't check this spot out! This was a perfect weekend!

A new boutique hotel in what was once a not so great part of town but now is a very hip up and coming hot spot. This property was recently opened SP 2021, the decor was for sure for the younger set in mind and very post Bauhaus and pretty much the entire place was decorated in shades of black, white and gray. The rooms are not especially spacious but just big enough, I missed having an actual desk to put on laptop on but I guess the stand up counter is what the kids are all doing now. The staff was really great and right on it, everyone seems to have an iPad at the ready and pretty much everything can be done on line. I think the valet is very much worth it and of course, the place was neat as a pin. Highly recommended.

Hotel is great. New, small, quiet, all the things we were looking for a good night's sleep. Love the blackout shade to really darken the room. Tip - the 'nightlight' on the bathroom light switch toggles between brightness settings and off if you press on it. Everything about our room, valet, and the service in the lobby was great. The only downside, we went to Sunday brunch at the Exchange. To start, the floors, tables, and even the windowsills were dirty with misc food bits everywhere. I ordered a burger and my wife ordered pancakes. When our order arrived, it looked like the pancakes were plated about the same time my burger went on the grill. They were cold, and the strawberry sauce had soaked in and taken on a matte finish that made it look like the plate had been sitting for quite a while before being brought out. Additionally the waiter asked if we wanted drink refills, then never brought them. There were only 2 other tables seated, so we were pretty bummed about the meal overall. For $20/per there are a lot of better choices within walking distance.

Really nice. I enjoyed the hotel, the location, the breakfast at The Exchange and the secret bar at Company... will visit again. Peloton in the Gym and the rooms are nice and clean...if a bit small... 4.5 stars, larger room would increase but I'll go ahead and round up here!

I am very disappointed in this place. We went for the Valentines dinner they had. This was our first time ever going there. I ordered the amaretto sour the waitress took my order my husband needed another minute to look at the drink menu so she went to get mine. while she was gone my husband said babe your drink is non-alcoholic. I was like well dang. she came back to our table with my drink and I said I didn't realize I was ordering a nonalcoholic beverage, & she proceeded to tell me it does have alcohol in it. I said the menu says nonalcoholic zero proof. (interesting) We order our meal it was sub par to say the least. I ordered another drink the same one it was fine I didn't have any alcohol since I needed to drive home. we finished up got our check and headed home. I kept thinking about how the check seemed to be more than I anticipated. When we got home I looked at my receipt and seen that she charged me $15 for my drink. On the menu it's $9. So she charged me $6 more than what it should have been & I had 2. So $12 dollars more than I should have paid. I called the next day and asked them if someone orders the amaretto sour is it nonalcoholic? They said yes you have to request a liquor to be added. I told them well I didn't request any type of liquor & when I asked the waitress she told me it had liquor in it already. The bar manager stated it is not made that way unless the customer asks. So I told them about the charges and how much more they were then what was on their menu. He proceeded to say well if you asked her if there was alcohol in it and she thought you wanted alcohol she probably would've told them you to add alcohol. And I said no because when I ordered it the first time I didn't even know it didn't have any alcohol in it. I realize that after I ordered the nonalcoholic beverage. When she came back to the table, I said to her oh this is not alcoholic I didn't realize that. So she charged me $15 for a non-alcoholic beverage that's on the menu for nine dollars. I said I know for a fact that the second one also didn't have any alcohol in it because I never requested a certain type of alcohol. She never asked me. And I didn't taste anything no alcohol in either drink. And instead of being like, I'm sorry when you come in the next time we give you one free drink. No, they just said oh what a mistake. We'll talk to her. That's bullshit. I will never go back. That is not the way you should handle things. Make sure you look at your checks when you leave this place or before you leave because they definitely overcharge you. By the way, the waitress name is Chandler. If you get her, check your receipt.

Wow. Just, WOW. I'm a Platinum elite with Marriott and chose this property for my partners birthday. It's a beautiful and small boutique hotel with probably under 50 rooms. The rooms are stunning in an industrial chic styling with plenty of white and natural light. Every person we came in contact with were just so nice and hospitable. I know, I know, service folks are paid to be nice. This was the most refreshing stay I've had in at least a year where EVERYONE was fantastic and they took care of any and all concerns brought up. They have a little coffee bar/cafe in the lobby where they serve their own blend/roast of coffee. It was some seriously delicious coffee. They were extremely smart in making their bar into a speakeasy. Therefore making it more desirable due to the lack of space and reservations only. It's a must for a nightcap. Happy to see The Kinley being a mini brand with a few locations open. I'll definintely be coming back!

So glad I decided to change up my Chattanooga stay and try out the Kinley! Such a fun hotel! Staff was AMAZING and so helpful, especially Elisa! She was delightful.

Stayed there Saturday night and went back today to eat, best hamburger in Chattanooga, definitely recommend and we will be back!

Terrible service and very Noisy . Is extremely noisy especially the rooms facing the front with the large windows The windows are so thin you can hear everything outside. 7 Fire engine trucks went by in 1 day I counted it . All hours of the day . This hotel should investing in better windows . If you request house keeping no one shows up . I would not be staying here anymore after my 3 rd stay here there's better hotels perhaps The Edwin hotel . Is a shame the bar is great .

Love the decor, the staff, and the food. But the scent that fills the lobby and restaurant, ie signature scent, is terrible if you are a migraine sufferer. It is so strong!! I hope enough people complain.

Love the location of this hotel! In the south side of town and such cool vibes. Great sheets! Nice shower and room. Loved the exchange Bar in the lobby! The cocktails were delicious! Our daughter loved that this hotel was right beside a cute little ice cream shop as well.

Clean for the most part, except the drain in the shower stopped up and continued to do so even through they came and "fixed it." The rooms were a bit noise - walls and floors thin. And the beds (ours were a weird combo of queen sized bunk beds in a tiny space) creeked each time one of us moved during the night. Probably wouldn't stay again. Staff super nice though and valet staff really efficient and nice.
