Honestly the BEST food we have had at any NZ winery. We had the beef and blue cheese pizza, braised beef cheek and Fried chicken and everything was incredible. Amazing service, food came so quickly and was supper fresh. Had amazing wine pairings with the food and such a great location (by the fire with blankets). Very very happy. Full 5 stars and if I could do more I would. Thanks so much

We had the perfect anniversary stay at Kinross! The lovely staff allowed an early arrival so we had time to unpack before getting in the hot tub, which was very kind and appreciated. The hot tub was so warm and relaxing on a chilly winter day, with a stunning view over the winery. Our room was facing the vineyard, it was very clean warm and cosy. Our only complaint was our bed didn't join well and there was a big dip in the middle so we couldn't cuddle up at night. After the hot tub we went to the wine tasting which was a highlight of our stay. Diego was the most amazing host, he was funny and informative, he was passionate about the wines, the crowd was a bit tough but he handle it like a pro, l|he's a big asset to the Kinross team. We collected our pizza and had a wee picnic by the pond which was romantic! Im unsure of the chefs name but wanted to mention they did a wonderful job, all our food was delicious. When we went back to our room we had a bottle of Pinot Noir waiting for us with a hand written note which was lovely, especially as we had just enjoyed the wine in the tasting! We had a breakfast hamper waiting in the fridge for us too which was such a lovely touch. Our platter we had for snacks later in the evening was tasty, loved the smoked salmon pate and all the delicious cheese snd meats etc. We really didn't want to leave and can't wait to return. Thanks to everyone at Kinross for an amazing thoughtful experience!

Loved our stay! |Arrived well before check in to leave our bags, but the friendly staff said our accommodation was ready. Spacious and comfortable, and despite it being mid winter the room was always at ‘Goldilocks’ temperature- just right. The daily breakfast hamper was delicious, particularly the spiced berry compote and home made baked goods. We also enjoyed the in-room dinner, both the lasagne and beef and pinot cottage pie were excellent. Shout out to the lovely Diego from Brazil in the tasting room- my dad went over to get some wine for dinner (oblivious to the well stocked minibar in the room), and despite them already being closed for the day, he patiently spent time helping him choose several bottles.|Really peaceful and relaxing, and dog friendly too. Highly recommended, thanks so much for a great stay.

We visited for a wine tasting and were swept away by what turned out to be the finest experience we had in the region. Diego, our host, was not just knowledgeable—he brought the stories behind each bottle to life with charm and humor, making the afternoon feel more like a journey than a tasting. Each wine poured was a moment to savor—elegant, expressive, and full of soul. This place stands above the rest—not just for the wine, but for the warmth and passion behind it.

Our visit to Kinross Winery was an absolute highlight of our trip to New Zealand. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. We enjoyed a beautifully curated private dining lunch — which did not disappoint — followed by a private wine tasting. The food was superb: fresh, full of flavour, and perfectly paired with their outstanding wines. The setting was stunning, the service warm and professional, and the entire experience felt truly special. Highly recommend Kinross to anyone wanting to experience the best of Central Otago’s wine and hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

We've had the pleasure of visiting the Kinross Cellar Door twice in the past year, and both times Melissa has taken amazing care of us. Her knowledge, passion for wine and friendly approach made each tasting a great experience. She guided us through a great selection of wines and managed to twist our arms to send a box of wine back home to Australia on both occasions. Melissa is a true asset to the Kinross team — we’ll definitely be back!

Warm Welcome & First-Class Experience We arrived late, just before closing, and expected we might be turned away — but not here. The team welcomed us with genuine warmth and made us feel completely at ease. Despite the hour, the service was outstanding, the wine was exceptional, and the food was absolutely first-class. It’s rare to experience that level of hospitality so close to closing time. Truly impressive and very much appreciated. Highly recommended!

Lovely wine tasting with Francesco. We got to try wines from all of the different wineries they represent which was great—it’s like visiting 5 wineries in one. Service was top notch and the wines were all delicious. Huge selection so there’s something for everyone.
