We booked a superior room here with sea view as a bit of a treat for a single night.|We were already disappointed before we arrived having been informed by email after booking that there was no TV in the room after all. If we’d booked with the express purpose of being able to watch something specific, which we sometimes do, we’d have been super annoyed with this lack of information up front. On parking, the disappointment increased as the hotel looked rather dilapidated from the outside. There’s clearly work still in progress decorating and replacing worn out fixtures and fittings. Our room looked as advertised, had a comfy bed, decent bathroom and balcony with sea view but anything needing charging with a short cable had to go on the floor, something I hate, as there were no sockets near the top of the desk or bedside tables. Other small peeves were a shower curtain rather than a screen, toilet roll that couldn’t be fitted in the holder and in the room there are only 2 teabags and two coffee sachets plus four sugars, no milk or creamer. It seemed just a little stingy. Breakfast was adequate, nothing more with a poor selection for the price point. Paper notices with information for guests sticky taped to the walls also didn’t do much to impress. If they really are trying to upgrade and produce a superior offering, they have a way to go yet.

The rooms are pretty worn and dated for the price. No television and weak wifi. Breakfast was okay and the staff are friendly

Dinner and breakfast were great. So good to take boots off after a long wet hike and pad down to dinner in socks 😂

Now it’s called First, before it was Best Western, independent….but doesn’t matter how many times it changes the name, the hotel will remain the same - best to avoid. Extremely high prices, rude management.

Room was really nice but service… I don’t think they know what service is and I’m not kidding

I could tell just by the remoteness of the area and the lack of reviews that this town of Kinsarvik is not the most travelled-to place in Norway but if you are fortunate enough to make your way to this quaint little town on the edge of both the Hardangerfjord and the Husadalen valley, the one hotel they have here is exceptional. ||||The first thing I noticed right away was the overall friendliness and support of the front desk. The woman that helped to check me in gave me great tips for hiking the 4 Waterfalls trail (which is a GREAT hiking area, just FYI.) And then the next day, a different staff member that checked me out allowed me to stay in the room well past the normal check out of 12:00 noon. My bus arrived around 1:30 pm. ||||The room itself was wonderful. I had a view of the fjord from my balcony! And the balcony itself was great. The bathroom is very small. The sink area is even smaller. But the rest of the room was more than spacious. Bed was comfortable and I had a great nights' sleep. ||||The food at dinner was delicious and breakfast was substantial. I had a great time staying here and wish I had stayed in town more than the one night.

A very nice hotel. So quiet. I really had a peace of mind. we checked in here with my family. We arrived late around 17:00 because of some road repairs along the way. The receptionist was just average when we arrived. Gave the keys to us and told us about the hotel policies. The room was not too fancy but it was nice. I was expecting a carpet on the room but there wasn't. But it okay, still it was a very clean and nice room. Had a couple of beers at the bar and my kids with some juices. Problem is we need to go down to the reception to order because the bar was empty. The receptionist guy during the night was kind enough to bring the drinks to us and showed my kids some magic tricks which they love it. the breakfast is fine, Typical norwegian hotel restaurants. No meat. Im a meat guy so I wasn't surprised at all when they didnt have any meats but the restaurant is very nice. Waiters were really nice too. Everyone was smiling. Thats the kind of way you want to start your day. Overall Im satisfied, Will be coming back again here!

The hotel was ok, and especially the receptionist at check out. Very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it does not cover up for the restaurant. After mountain-hiking all day, a nice beef steak sounded nice, even it was very expensive. ||They served very dry white meet from pig, or maybe it was cooked beef. The chef said it was beef from cow. They made a new one which was totally different and ok. But the mistake was made, you can not serve something like that in the first place, not acceptable!
