Great atmosphere and food. Friendly staff. The grilled prawns were surprisingly amazing - more tasty than I expected. The aubergine was lovely. The corn & spider roll was also fantastic. The only left down was the chicken teriyaki - was dry and not enough flavour or sauce. Beer float was great. Overall, highly recommended

Really loved the vibe at Kintaro Izakaya — it feels genuinely authentic with real Japanese decor and atmosphere. The place has a casual, fun energy that makes it great for hanging out with friends or a relaxed date night. Some of the food was excellent, especially the skewers (the beef was the standout) and the chef’s sashimi, which was fresh and perfectly done. It’s a bit pricey for the portion sizes, but the bar location is great, the service was accessible and friendly, and overall it’s worth the price for the experience. Definitely a spot I’d go back to.

I came here on Wednesday night, October 22, after reading many good reviews about this pub. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The waitress was unfriendly and didnt seem to care at all. The food was mediocre but overpriced. The chicken karaage, which came with only three pieces of fries, wasn’t cooked properly. Besides that, I ordered the skewers set A, okonomiyaki, gyoza, and two Polar beers. The total bill came to almost $120, which was definitely not worth it. The worst part is, my friend threw up right after we left the pub. This experience was terrible. First time here, and for sure, the last.

Absolutely amazing experience! Kintaro Izakaya is a hidden gem that instantly transports you to Japan the moment you step inside. The atmosphere is warm, authentic, and beautifully designed, making it feel like a true Japanese dining experience. The service is outstanding, the staff are friendly, attentive, The food is absolutely delicious, with each dish prepared fresh and full of flavour whether cold or hot, from the appetizers to the mains. Everything we tried was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented.

I love this place! Japanese food is one of my favorite cuisine’s and Kintaro did not disappoint. Reservation is highly recommended, if not a must. Came here for a dinner and we enjoyed it so much. Service, ambiance and food quality was a pleasure and I crave for the next time I’ll be back!

This is a great place for a date night - especially if you’re looking to grab drinks. I came here twice and had a good experience both times. The food is really good, though it is an izakaya so expect smaller portions and slightly higher prices. Everything we ordered was delicious and went really well with beer. I’d recommend the karaage and any of the meat skewers! I got the frozen beer, and although it was fun to look at, I’d recommend just sticking with regular beer. The frozen foam didn’t really add anything to the drinking experience and frankly made it hard to drink. The service was great - really friendly and accommodating! The decor and ambience was really nice too. All in all, would recommend!

FOOD: 3.5 star. Quite expensive for the portion and quality • Okonomiyaki: it's bland and very thick. • Deep fried oysters: best thing I ordered. There're 6 pieces come with cream sauce. • Skewers: hit or miss. Some are good and tender, some are very dry or chewy. SERVICE: I sit all the way in the back of the patio, the staff doesn't go to this area often. VIBE: the patio feels dirty. Table is a bit sticky as it's not cleaned very well.

Had the pork ramen bowl along with an avocado and asparagus roll , both were delicious and satisfying. The service was friendly and efficient, even at 1 AM, which was impressive. The ambience was warm and inviting, making it a great spot to relax late at night. Definitely a solid alternative to the usual late-night franchise options. Worth checking out!
