I booked in for one night and had a room in what felt and looked like a portacabin. No frills whatsoever but the bed was clean and comfortable. 2.5 stars would be my choice.|It's a little way out of town which could be off-putting for a solo traveller once it's dark but I didn't go into town as I just wanted somewhere to sleep before going over to the Whitsundays.|Evening food options were limited to a noisy sports bar or the happy grocer (microwave in the room).

This establishment proved to be a truly wonderful discovery. The rooms are private and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. The staff members were all exceptionally friendly and courteous. Furthermore, the location was easily accessible, with a convenient bus stop nearby for travel into the town center. The setting was also advantageous, offering a peaceful atmosphere while being a short fifteen-minute drive from the heart of town.

Really enjoyed my stay here - nice peaceful private room a short way out of Airlie Beach. Simple but clean, has everything you need for a comfortable stay. 30 minute walk into town but cheap buses run regularly. Staff friendly and welcoming. Thank you!

The room is nice and clean, but there is a foul smell from the bathroom. We only stay for one night so we survived, Not sure if it’s from the sewage but it’s just an awful smell. Other than that it’s clean, convenient and great value for money! We also had a late check in and the receptionist lady over the phone is so kind, and accommodating.

Was not that impressed with my stay unfortunately. Staff were friendly, however the rooms were not clean. I understand this is budget accommodation, but cleanliness should be a basic standard. Room was damp and moldy, and the towel was also not clean, it smelt awful. The toilet had sick or human fescies around the bottom of it.

Recently stayed at Kipara, in a cabin. The cabins were new, clean and spacious. Really quite comfortable. Unfortunately there is a design flaw with the curtains, that sit back approx 300-400mm off the windows. This wouldn’t be too bad, however the room has a sensor light right next to the window which turns on and lights up the room to daylight everytime someone comes passed… coupled with the camp kitchen, which despite not ever being seen to be used, is lit up like a Xmas tree all night, shining straight into the room with the flawed curtains. 😬 Affixed to the end of our cabin was a smaller cabin, which unfortunately for us, housed two persons who were up all night, including walking regularly passed the aforementioned sensor light to have a cigarette on multiple occasions.

We have had a great time during our visit, but very disappointing to use the bathroom as I can smell foul or mould and when I used the bath towel I can smell not clean and look at close in it I’m 100% it needs a good wash with chlorinated to look good and clean so that your guests will feel comfortable to use them. Another thing is cups or mugs and teaspoons that are not clean I even took a picture of them so you can see it also the top blanket wasn’t even washed after the previous guest left. About the tv we couldn’t access the Netflix or streaming services although we can watch other channels and that’s about it. Very disappointing. Maybe next time put effort into rooms for your guests.

Beautiful location not far from everything you need in this amazing holiday destination. I seen my first real echidna here. Cute little thing. Peaceful with a tropical feel... As it should. Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
What a find! Kipara is a comfortable, basic, no-frills accommodation in the heart of Jubilee Pocket in Airlie Beach. On our way into town and with spotty data coverage, I was scrambling to find somewhere for my husband and I to stay for a night or two. I came across Kipara on another website with promising reviews, so I booked a night through Trip Advisor at a good rate. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the young lady at the front desk who gave us a map to our room and highlighted all the facilities available. There is on-site laundry, a shared BBQ and nearby parking. The grounds are lush and green, with countless bush turkeys running around and squawking cockatoos to serve as your alarm clock in the morning. The room itself was very small but perfect for just two of us, with a new equally small but clean ensuite bathroom. Everything functioned as it should and I was overwhelmingly grateful for excellent water pressure in the shower after camping for a few days. There was a TV, a closet to store luggage and clothing to keep it out of the limited open space in the room, a water boiler for tea in the morning (you'll find tea bags and instant coffee in the room), and even a mini fridge which we used to keep the beers cold :-) Towels are also provided. Beds are not very comfortable, but that's probably the only neutral comment I can make. After staying one night, we decided to add on a couple more to continue exploring Airlie, and the friendly staff was kind enough to accommodate our original booking price. I cannot say enough positive things about the folks that work at Kipara - they are really lovely! Also, if you're in need of some guidance on what to do in town, check out the lobby for brochures and personal advice from whomever is on duty. My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone needing a reasonable Nd comfortable accommodation while visiting beautiful Airlie Beach.

Yelp
I would stay here again. It was clean, quiet and safe during my 2 nights. I'm really didn't want to stay in a shared hostel, but rather a hotel and this was an affordable alternative. The local Airlie Beach bus stop is walking distance from here, so to get to the main area of town (or more specifically, to Airlie Beach), I took the bus to/from everyday. That bus ride is barely 10 mins and comes about every 20-30 minutes. My bus pass was 5.80$A to go back and forth. My room was simple, but it had all I needed. My package included WiFi and my room was temperature controlled (thank goodness!). The floors are a bit creaky and walls are thin, so you can hear your neighbors though lucky for me I don't think I had a neighbor my 2nd night. The front desk staff is thoughtful, and helpful. They aren't open 24/7 so get your questions asked during opening hours. Kipara was described as super clean in my Lonely Planet Australia guide, and they delivered.
