What a find! Kipara is a comfortable, basic, no-frills accommodation in the heart of Jubilee Pocket in Airlie Beach. On our way into town and with spotty data coverage, I was scrambling to find somewhere for my husband and I to stay for a night or two. I came across Kipara on another website with promising reviews, so I booked a night through Trip Advisor at a good rate. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the young lady at the front desk who gave us a map to our room and highlighted all the facilities available. There is on-site laundry, a shared BBQ and nearby parking. The grounds are lush and green, with countless bush turkeys running around and squawking cockatoos to serve as your alarm clock in the morning.
The room itself was very small but perfect for just two of us, with a new equally small but clean ensuite bathroom. Everything functioned as it should and I was overwhelmingly grateful for excellent water pressure in the shower after camping for a few days. There was a TV, a closet to store luggage and clothing to keep it out of the limited open space in the room, a water boiler for tea in the morning (you'll find tea bags and instant coffee in the room), and even a mini fridge which we used to keep the beers cold :-) Towels are also provided. Beds are not very comfortable, but that's probably the only neutral comment I can make.
After staying one night, we decided to add on a couple more to continue exploring Airlie, and the friendly staff was kind enough to accommodate our original booking price. I cannot say enough positive things about the folks that work at Kipara - they are really lovely! Also, if you're in need of some guidance on what to do in town, check out the lobby for brochures and personal advice from whomever is on duty. My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone needing a reasonable Nd comfortable accommodation while visiting beautiful Airlie Beach.
