What is there to say about this place? Reception was friendly. I think her name was Kerry. Check in took forever because their internet was not working. ||"breakfast " was a joke. See photo. Flies were everywhere. No one was using it. It was filthy. ||I paid for an upgrade to a "vintage villa ", the name says it all. It is a demountable cabin which is very tiny ,old and falling apart. It was overpriced . ||There are other places in Airlie that are new and modern closer to town. Not recommended. It is also too far from town centre. Car is required. It is out of town.

Our room was deliberately very small, but it was modern, private, and had everything needed. Very happy. Bus stop 100m from the front door of the resort and plenty of free in site parking. Large communal kitchen was open, friendly and modern, and well equipped with a tropical vibe.

I stayed in Kipara from the 17-20th of January 2025. When we checked in we were met with lovely staff at reception who was very accommodating, I'm sad to say that was the only good thing about our stay. When we walked into our room we were met with a dirty room, the bunk beds had dead bugs underneath the mattress. The air conditioning is filled with dust and the rooms smelled like mould. There was a constantly musty smell lingering. The bed linen had stains on them and I was woken up with bites potentially from bed bugs during my stay. This place made for an uncomfortable stay, I will not be staying here again I would not recommend to anyone.

Perfect for wheelchair. Spacious apartment, wheel-in shower, handelbars, ramp with parking. And very clean. And the best thing about this place is the staff. Very friendly and helpful. They got me a good deal on a reef snorkel trip. Will stay there again when I come back.

This Retreat is the best!! Love the luscious gardens, the grounds are super tidy and green!! Inside the cabins are super clean and comfortable, very family friendly. The kitchen is well set up with common utensils and a decent sized fridge.|There's a great little play space for kids in the common area and a pool. The staff are very friendly and super helpful, great communication when having quiries.|Very convenient to access public transports, as there are busstops out front of the Retreat.|Also a small shopping plaza just 5mins walk up the road.

Had a wheelchair accessible apartment. Clean, lots of space to maneuver, wheel-in shower, ramp with parking spot. And the best thing about this place is the staff. Very friendly and helpful. They got me a good deal on a reef snorkeling cruise. Will stay there again when I come back next year.

I'm from Melbourne. I stayed at Kipara Tropical Rainforest Resort for a week in a private room and found it to be clean, comfortable and affordable. You have everything you need. There are laundry facilities, clean kitchen area with great cooking facilities and continental breakfast provided every morning. There are games for young and old to enjoy including a pin ball machine and table tennis. They also have a pool! It's peaceful, the resort gardens are beautiful and well kept and the trees surrounding the resort attracts plenty of beautiful birds. I will miss waking up to the sounds of nature. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment I was staying at the resort. Melanie and Renee are lovely, always with smiles on their faces, they made me feel very welcomed and were extremely helpful when I needed to make bookings or leave my luggage in the office whilst I awaited my shuttle bus to arrive. The staff are all wonderful and did not hesitate in giving me extra shampoo, soap and milk, when I needed it. Oh, even Baxter, the resident French Bulldog was a happy, friendly little fella who likes to say hello to guests. Thank you Kipara staff for making my stay a memorable week. I will most definitely be returning.

Great room, nice and clean, very comfortable bed! The location is great, service was good on check in and check out. The kitchen was not clean, there were no bowls…

Yelp
What a find! Kipara is a comfortable, basic, no-frills accommodation in the heart of Jubilee Pocket in Airlie Beach. On our way into town and with spotty data coverage, I was scrambling to find somewhere for my husband and I to stay for a night or two. I came across Kipara on another website with promising reviews, so I booked a night through Trip Advisor at a good rate. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the young lady at the front desk who gave us a map to our room and highlighted all the facilities available. There is on-site laundry, a shared BBQ and nearby parking. The grounds are lush and green, with countless bush turkeys running around and squawking cockatoos to serve as your alarm clock in the morning. The room itself was very small but perfect for just two of us, with a new equally small but clean ensuite bathroom. Everything functioned as it should and I was overwhelmingly grateful for excellent water pressure in the shower after camping for a few days. There was a TV, a closet to store luggage and clothing to keep it out of the limited open space in the room, a water boiler for tea in the morning (you'll find tea bags and instant coffee in the room), and even a mini fridge which we used to keep the beers cold :-) Towels are also provided. Beds are not very comfortable, but that's probably the only neutral comment I can make. After staying one night, we decided to add on a couple more to continue exploring Airlie, and the friendly staff was kind enough to accommodate our original booking price. I cannot say enough positive things about the folks that work at Kipara - they are really lovely! Also, if you're in need of some guidance on what to do in town, check out the lobby for brochures and personal advice from whomever is on duty. My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone needing a reasonable Nd comfortable accommodation while visiting beautiful Airlie Beach.

Yelp
I would stay here again. It was clean, quiet and safe during my 2 nights. I'm really didn't want to stay in a shared hostel, but rather a hotel and this was an affordable alternative. The local Airlie Beach bus stop is walking distance from here, so to get to the main area of town (or more specifically, to Airlie Beach), I took the bus to/from everyday. That bus ride is barely 10 mins and comes about every 20-30 minutes. My bus pass was 5.80$A to go back and forth. My room was simple, but it had all I needed. My package included WiFi and my room was temperature controlled (thank goodness!). The floors are a bit creaky and walls are thin, so you can hear your neighbors though lucky for me I don't think I had a neighbor my 2nd night. The front desk staff is thoughtful, and helpful. They aren't open 24/7 so get your questions asked during opening hours. Kipara was described as super clean in my Lonely Planet Australia guide, and they delivered.
