TOTAL SCAM!! AVOID!!!! This place is a complete joke. It’s advertised as a hotel but feels more like someone’s rundown house. The moment I arrived, I knew something was off. There’s no reception, no staff, no welcome. Just a code to get in and a weird feeling like I was intruding on someone’s private home. The room itself was shocking. The “en suite” isn’t even separated by a wall – just a curtain in the corner of the room hiding a shower. No privacy whatsoever. You’re literally sleeping a metre away from the dirty sink. It’s uncomfortable, awkward and honestly disgusting. Water stopped running from the shower half way through it. No hot water, no pressure, NOT. A. SHOWER. For the price, it’s daylight robbery. No service, no proper facilities, no soundproofing, no comfort. I felt completely misled by the photos and description. If you’re expecting a proper hotel stay, do yourself a favour and book literally anywhere else. A total scam. Never again.

The room was clean, spacious, and the location was excellent—just a short walk to Brighton Beach, pubs, and restaurants. However, the bathroom facilities were very disappointing. There was no hot water or water pressure, making it impossible to shower. I contacted the hotel multiple times via email and the booking app but received no meaningful response. A late reply promised maintenance, but no one showed up. Even the communal toilet had issues—clogged and no hot water. I also left a £10 facewash behind and never received a reply when I messaged to collect it. Great location, but poor service and unresponsive management. Would not stay again.

Super happy with the room. Went with 5 friends and absolutely no complaints for the price point. Everything was clean and well maintained, will absolutely be back.

Booked this via booking.com to stay today 2nd May 2025. |On arrival we had no information sent to us to access our room. Tried to call the reception number numerous times but no answer and also emailed the establishment with no response .After an hour waiting and no response to emails and phone calls we ended up having to book somewhere else for the evening. |Eventually managed to get through to booking.com to ensure we are not charged and suddenly at 18.40 we receive the email with instructions with room number and PIN. Only 3.5 hours too late.|If you do not have a manned reception this is fine but be courteous and answer emails and your phone !!!|You have caused us a lot of time and hassle today|It is not acceptable to only answer the booking agent

Small print has the deposit as £50 and taken separately by the property. Did not feel the need to pay it and they still took the fee for the room, and then told Booking.com it was cancelled as I didn’t turn up. Be warned!

Cheap and sketchy lodgings in a great location. The rooms look a bit gross, and I found cigarette butts in the shared toilet sink, but it's a doss so you get what you get.

Arrived around 3pm tried to get in and found only had received code for front door, no information about what room or code to get in, no one in person in the hotel/hostel to assist. Rang the phone number no answer told to email, emailed no reply, chased constant no reply, around 5pm tried to contact booking.com to get assistance no response. At 6.15pm gave up and went and got another room in another hotel, as had a meal booked for 7pm and needed to change. At 6.40pm eventually received the code to the room, some 3 hours 40 minutes after agreed check-in. *********THIS IS A NO REFUND HOTEL, DO NOT BOOK HERE AS YOU MAY NOT GET IN THEN NO REFUND********** Seems like a scam.. BOOKING.COM WILL NOT ASSIST EITHER.

Location good and the worker was nice but it was an awful experience. We booked a room that was seemingly decent in size but on arrival were placed on almost the top floor in a tiny room which my boyfriend had to duck his head to enter. Looked nothing like online photos. We were lucky enough to walk past the worker who helped us get in as we weren’t given the correct code. Sheets were clean but the floor was dusty and the place smelt of smoke and other substances. Huge gap under our door and could hear other people in their rooms. The floor was tilted and it felt like we were walking on a boat, like it was going to break. There were cigarette buts all below the window on the roof of the lower floor, and we couldn’t open our window as it was broken and held by a screw. It was humid and dusty, so hot. The worst part is that when we were home, we recieved an email that we were charged £20 for a stained towel but when checking out, we left the door open for cleaning, so feel like someone put their stained one in our room. There was no invoice for the charge and it was taken without notice or conversation. We yet have to deal with this. It is definitely worth spending a few hundred extra for a nice place, as it made the whole Brighton trip feel like a misery. We left as soon as we could and even considered sleeping in the car instead

Yelp
This place isn't that well known but is a pretty good hostel and only the second I know of in Brighton. Journey's is the other and is pretty much the same price but the lounge area is a bit more lively in my opinion. £100 for a week in shared dormitories is very good and a great way to stay in Brighton as it means you will probably hear about better places to go from others you are sharing with and more people to have pre-drinks with which, is always the best part of any night.
