I’ve been going to campground for over ten years. The scenery is incredible. There’s a pretty well maintained Trail to the ocean from camp. Katie was the camp host during my visit during February 25’ she was awesome and provided the best hospitality. Offering her own personal supplies, knowledge, and points of interest to her guest lodging there. She accommodated myself with no reservation on a Saturday, lucky me. I’d return just because of her, as well as the incredible views from camp. 10/10 would recommend.

Stayed 6 nights over Christmas and had a great time. Such a beautiful spot. No water at this campground, so bring plenty along with you. The pit toilets were clean, which is always nice, right? And the hosts, Tina and Ken, were the best. Very friendly and personable. Probably the nicest hosts at the Kirk Creek campground that I've ever encountered. And although I didn't see a single raccoon, I did see a fox!

Beautiful campground over looking the ocean! Biked here and there was no water, we ended up asking for some leaving car campers for some. The hiker biker sites are very tucked away and there is a lot of vegetation around them which made me worried about poison oak. Some guests were playing loud music on speakers.

Stunning and remote location!|Mike & Punky were amazing & friendly camp hosts! They were so helpful gave wonderful recommendations! We really enjoyed local hiking and the local beaches. Sandollar Beach is gorgeous! Also, salmon Creek waterfall is a wonderful hike. We will be back! :)

This was one of the most magical campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at. The ocean and mountains were out of a dream. The sunset and stars and moon light up the sky! We stayed in a tent around late august and it was perfect! Amazing experience!

Wonderful campground right on the cliffs overlooking the pacific in central California. No electric or water, and the spaces aren’t quite level, but it’s beautiful. Hiking opportunities abound nearby. Right now it’s about the last stop before highway 1 is closed from 2023 landslides, so if you want to go farther to Big Sur, you have to reroute to 101.

We loved camping at Kirk Creek. We gambled and just showed up without reservations. They were a lot of empty spots and we were able to pick the best suited for us. Fantastic sunsets and views.

This campsite with breathtaking views is potentially your best ever. The sound of waves hums like a lullaby in the starlit sky, while the camp fire covers you like a warm blanket in the cold breeze. There are 33 camp sites with an additional few for bikers, each site costs $50 a night. Campsite have adequate space to put up one big (4-6 people) and one small (1-2 people) tent. The best sites I would say are 6-10 as those at the highest elevation, which makes for uninterrupted views of the ocean and the sky, as they merge into each other. Some sites have grass while others are extremely dusty, so be prepared to have shoes, clothes and tents full of blackish dust if you get one such site.. Fire wood is available, though till 6pm only, at $15 a bunch, which is cheaper than $20 pack you get at a grocery store around 12 miles out however it's still expensive so my advise is to carry your own. The big let down is that there is no water! Unlike Yosemite where washrooms have both sink and running water. I felt the area around the washroom could be cleaned up as too many bushes around make it feel a bit scary at night. Racoons are ubiquitous uninvited visitors on the look out for food, expect them to litter around if you leave trash overnight, and expect a collage of their footsteps on your table, like they had a rehearsel of I like to move it, move it on your table all night. Overall, if you can put up with what I would call mild inconvenience, you are in for an amazing and unparalleled camping experience in a absolute stunner of a location. Cheers!
