We stayed for 5 nights and really enjoyed our time. Reception staff were so lovely and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept so well. Our view out the window was a brick wall, but we weren't too bothered as we spent most of our time put and about. There are plenty of mirrors in the rooms and in the hallways...not sure what that's about. The location was perfect for us, plenty of places are a short walk away. Not far from the train station. Downside was no elevator, which wasn't too bad as we were on the 1st floor. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would probably stay there again.

The room was spacious, stylishly decorated and spotlessly clean. A comfortable bed, a modern bathroom and a beautiful view from the window made it an ideal place to relax after a busy day. The hotel also offers a wide range of amenities, including pools, a spa, and restaurants with a variety of cuisines.

Usually don't write reviews but this place is pretty bad. 1. Terrible wifi 2. Extremely loud at night from the downstairs club (the bed literally shakes with music) 3. The room is strangely designed so that to get to the bathroom you only have a few inches of foot room. For a "4-star hotel", it is a joke. I would say it is a 2 star hotel deserving a 4 star review.

This hotel is not a 4 star experience. Be warned. There is no elevator, number one. Be prepared to carry your luggage(s) yourself. Next, the walls are so thin you hear everything from those around you. I was kept up all night the two nights I was there. The parties going on with unsavory guests until 2/3 in the morning (reception leaves at 11 so guests are unsupervised after). It does not feel safe with people outside your windows, shouting about. Next, the housekeeping team banging their trollies and vacuums about at 6/7 in the morning wake you up nice and early. The rooms themselves are old and dingy, without proper deep clean vacuuming done in ages. Corners full of dust, dirt and debris. Tables and surfaces sticky and not wiped down. Lack of space in the washroom to place toiletries or towels made it very cramped and uncomfortable. Shower curtain not long enough, makes the water flood the rest of the washroom every time you use it. The list goes on. Do not stay here if you want any sort of comfort or a good night sleep.

Avoid this hotel – unsafe and no response from management We stayed here from April 11–14, and while things seemed fine at first, the final night was terrifying. When we returned from a concert at around midnight, the front door was unlocked with no staff in sight. At 4:30 AM, we were woken by someone violently banging on our door, yelling, and trying to get in. The person went on to do the same at other rooms, while others nearby were screaming for help. We tried calling reception multiple times but got no answer. There was zero overnight staff presence or security to handle the situation. We didn’t feel safe, couldn’t get back to sleep, and spent the rest of our trip on edge. Management has yet to respond to our complaint. This hotel is not secure, and the lack of staff or accountability during an emergency is unacceptable. Think twice before booking.

Good hotel convenient to everything - buses, trains, convenience stores, supermarkets and gyms.Plenty of bars and food options to choose from.I stayed a few weeks ago and got the same room which was great! The room was very comfortable and quiet. Will definitely be back!

Extremely loud on a weekend with a function area/nightclub downstairs with noise and vibration noticeable throughout the room. Dated but clean bathroom. Main positive was the location and staff (but they’re not available after hours)

I could only give location stars as it was the only good thing. We could walk to get food. There was so called parking but we werent told it was off site till we got there, Was there for 2 nights and it was the worse 2 nights ive ever had and ive stayed in alot of hotels for work over the years I would definitely not recommend this hotel if you want sleep or a bit of piece and quiet YOU MOST DEFINITELY WILL NOT GET IT.

Yelp
I stayed here a little before covid and it was a very nice stay. Like most places, it was expensive, but the room was comfortable, the bed was nice, and the location was great. Everything was clean. The staff were very helpful. I would stay here again.

Yelp
Because of misunderstanding in day arrival etc, we technically showed up a day late etc , still charged, fine, I work for airlines so I had bought lots of sweets for crew but they were bombarded with sweets so we decided to just give AMERICAN treats to front desk staff upon checkin, He immediately accused us of trying to BRIBE HIM! Please! They took the treats then gave us a room with a view of a brick building only two foot distance away, lousy attitudes from all staff, small ass rooms, scratchy towels, book somewhere else, and I used to be the biggest supporter of telling everyone Id meet to go to Australia! Never again! All we found were Chinese restaurants! Id never go to Sydney again, Id go elsewhere in aus. Worst vacation in history! And in 2003 I had fallen in love with Australia! Ugh!

Yelp
A friend recommended the hotel so I didn't think to look up any reviews or photos. The location is great, lots of places to eat and drink nearby and a 20 min walk to the city. The rooms are pretty dated, tiny queen sized bed, and there were long black hairs in the bathroom when we checked in. A tile had also fallen off the bathroom wall, and when you turned the cold tap on the handle falls off. There was also no toilet brush in the bathroom. I guess for $140 a night in Sydney this is what you get, but I was pretty disappointed.

Yelp
Not the best but not the worst. Had some troubles with certain items in my room not working but the front desk staff was very friendly and very accommodating, everything was taken care of quickly. **The TV was in a very weird place high up on the wall and the bed filled the room - there is only 1 foot of space to walk around to the bathroom but, there is a huge walk-in closet. Bathtub in bathroom was cool and there is a rain showerhead. No elevator - Not for the handicapped. Bar downstairs looks like an old speakeasy and was very cool although only open at night. Food and Cafe's nearby Walking distance to Opera House, Botanical Gardens, Shopping - everything touristy of Sydney. They will hold your luggage for free at the front desk AND there is a shuttle they can schedule to take you to the airport which is way cheaper than Uber or a Taxi

Yelp
Not a bad place to stay but prepared to climb the stairs as there is no elevator. The staff are lovely, very helpful and very knowledgable. I even noticed them carrying luggage upstairs for one lady. I recommend requesting an upgraded suite as the regular rooms are quite small and a little claustrophobic. The shower is a rain shower however the surface area is too small leading to a generally un-satisfying shower. Despite that it was a generally satisfying stay. The rooms are well decorated with lots of mirrors (possible to make it feel better but it hasn't worked) and other decor. Unfortunately I didn't get to experience the dining on offer however there was a generally happy vibe in the restaurant area on the ground floor.

Yelp
We enjoyed 2 nights mid week in the Kirketon for my partner's 50th birthday. We had an executive room which was fine for 2, I wouldn't have wanted a smaller room. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and remembered us each time which added to the boutique feel. No lift so we got a workout carrying our bags to the second floor. The bathroom was a bit tired and the shower was very dark but everything worked fine. However the location is great, an uber from circular quay was $10 and after that we walked everywhere. Heaps of bars and restaurants in the area and the cocktail bar in the hotel was fantastic with a large menu of very unusual cocktails and great service. Would definitely stay again for the convenience and ease.

Yelp
Overall I was very happy w/ the Kirketon. Great location and nice accommodations. As a boutique it was a bit on the small side, but amenities and furnishings were new and it was plenty of space for myself. Staff was great - happy to recommend.

Yelp
We stayed at the Kirkton for the last half of our trip to Australia. While the rooms were on the smaller side, it was by far one of my favorites hotels during our holiday. Great location, great staff and the boutique hotel was right up our alley.
