Kirk's 1890 Ice Cream Parlor

Google
Came for ice cream. I ordered the chocolate peanut butter which was chocolate ice cream with peanut butter ribbons. The chocolate was rich. My husband ordered the oatmeal cookie which was in vanilla ice cream. We both enjoyed it. The staff was nice.

Google
Kirk’s has every flavor you can imagine, the cases were packed with several different flavors to choose from! This is by far the best ice cream we have ever bought! If you haven’t tried their ice cream parlor you should stop in and pick your flavor because I am most sure they will have it for you! So good!! Thanks guys!

Nikki N

Google
Great ice cream and a fun environment. The staff were also super friendly and helpful. I hope places like this never die! I love the old school vibe!

Tiffany B.

Google
Very cute old ice cream parlor vibe, but very dark. Lots of flavors to choose from but it’s not homemade ice cream. A few games inside.

We visited 4 ice cream parlors during our 7 day vacation in Myrtle Beach. And concluded that this place was number 1. The nice young lady that helped us was courtesy and helpful. Prices were reasonable and one scoop seems like two. Lots of options of ice cream , cones, bowls, and sizes. All set in a vintage 1800s atmosphere, with lots of seating and parking.

Google
I found this ice cream parlor via Google reviews during vacation. They have the highest rating in the area for a reason. Upon entering the ice cream parlor, we were kindly welcomed by Victoria and Nick! Victoria and Nick were both friendly, helpful, and patient as we figured out which one of the delicious flavors to choose from - there were at least 40 flavors. We tried a few samples as well. The prices were extremely affordable, and the portion of ice cream was a lot. The picture shown is a double scoop. I love that they didn't put the two different flavors on top of each other. Instead, the scoops were placed side by side so I could enjoy each flavor at the same time instead of waiting to finish one flavor and then getting to the bottom for the next one. I highly recommend this small business to anyone who visits Myrtle Beach!

Google
Perfect, dense, extra cold, chewy ice cream. $6+ for a very generous sundae. Busy, but they get you in and out quick.

Google
Sweet visit! On our last trip to Myrtle Beach for our October family vacation, we made a stop at Kirks Ice Cream Parlor for the very first time. The one thing I can say, above all about this place is the nostalgia is on point! It was like stepping back in time in every inch of the establishment. What an awesome feeling! The gorgeous light fixtures, the warm wood walls, decor pieces, and everything clear down to the vintage games when you first walk in the door send you back in time. The worker that was in the establishment that day was wonderful! She was so very pleasant, always had a smile on her face, and looked like that she genuinely enjoys her job. If I lived there, I would come back every day just to see her. Excited to pop in on a return trip! Wheelchair accessible parking lot. Coffee is served here. Takeout is available. Cards accepted.

Yelp
Always a friendly welcome and wonderful service. Tonight they had 40 offerings of ice cream and the chocolate peanut butter and Black Walnut hit the spot. Clean parlor that resides in an old building that's seen aided generations of sweet tooth's.
google avatar

Thuy H.

Yelp
That banana split def hit the spot!! We got it with wet walnuts and it brought back so much childhood memories. All ice cream there is blue bell ice cream, so def not in house made. So, if that's what you're looking for, you will have to go elsewhere. If you're looking for a ton of options and a ton of flavors, this is def your spot. Be prepared to wait esp after dinner. The line wraps around and I did not think it moved fast. But once up there, service is beyond nice.

Yelp
When in Myrtle gotta hit Kirk's for the Kids. Our family came here and visited Kirk's on a search for a good late night sweet treat and got just that. Their service was great and the ambiance was swell. I tried their butterfinger ice cream and it was delicious. I will definitely be coming here again. I will say the parking lot is crowded, but other than that it was good solid ice cream! 8.8/10

Yelp
I loved everything about this place! When you walk in, you definitely get the cozy, classic, old-school ice cream parlor feel. The interior is spacious and has plenty of seating. The employees here were so friendly and quick to help you out (with samples or your order). The menu is very extensive with sundaes, milkshakes, scoops, specialties, etc. Their ice cream is delicious AND the portions are huge! I got: ~Graham Central (5/5): Tasted just like a graham cracker without being grainy, like other ones I have had at other places ~Oatmeal Cream Pie (5/5): Big chunks of oatmeal cream pies, but not soggy The ice cream overall is so creamy and packed with flavor! Wish I went back before I left to go back home.

Yelp
Love the vibe! Great place to bring kids. Long line, but it moves quickly. So many ice cream choices, but the flavors are delicious. If you're on the area definitely stop on by!
google avatar

Linda Y.

Yelp
Kirk's stay true to the flavors of the old days. Awesome black walnut. Staff friendly, service quick and pleasant ambiance
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
The location and place itself was quirky and unique. Blue Bell ice cream, however - not my personal favorite but know a lot of people love it.
google avatar

Jonathan R.

Yelp
Friendly services, samples of ice cream offered. Many varieties. Quiet on this off season evening. Prices are reasonable and the scoops are huge.
google avatar

Zackary P.

Yelp
Good service. Liked the ambiance. Ice cream wasn't that good. Neither my daughter (8 yo) or I finished our dips. That should say something.
google avatar

Yelp
Went on over visit to Myrtle Beach. Very simple ambiance typical old school ice cream shop with many different flavors they offer. We got the turtle Sunday which was very flavorful (two scoops of ice cream with 2 toppings and two kind of drizzle with whipped cream). Service was fast any friendly definitely a revisit place when we come to Myrtle Beach.

Kayci M.

Yelp
Lots of choices! Staff was friendly and helpful. Our kids played some of the arcade games.
google avatar

Deanna P.

Yelp
Wow! Reviews on this place weren't lying - for sure the best ice cream in the area. The inside is old school with stained glass lights and signage and cute places to sit. Lots of options, including specialty waffle cones. The staff was really friendly. Get some pizza next door, then stop here. Great experience, really delicious!
google avatar

Pie S.

Yelp
40 flavors in a nice family friendly old-timey ice cream parlor. Prices are not too bad, and the ice cream is good quality. Staff is very friendly. Clean overall

Yelp
I know, I know. You saw the reviews, heard how good it was, and then you walk into Kirk's and see the line of 40+ people from the entrance to the back wall of the place. That line's intimidating! But, the ice cream is REALLY freaking good. And the line goes by faster than you'd expect. The interior is a cool mix of vintage nostalgia meets current, kind of like the people you see in there. You see everyone from retirees down to little babies waiting to get Kirk's Ice Cream. I can't really blame them. My grandma had been coming here to get ice cream at the beach since she was a little kid in the 1930's. And continuing with the rich family tradition, today marked my 7 month old's first (little) taste of what makes this place a Myrtle Beach ice cream legend. 4 generations of my family has came to Kirk's, and we aren't the only ones! Everybody loves it. The reviews on here reflect that this is the area's top dog for ice cream, and it's for a reason! Tonight we enjoyed chocolate, pistachio almond, sweet black cherry, wacky waves, and cotton candy. All parties were thoroughly impressed with their scoops, to the point that the car ride to the hotel was silent (with 4 kids!).

Kaston E.

Yelp
Incredible service in a classic, nostalgic atmosphere. The ice cream is phenomenal with dozens of options. Our favorite flavors were oatmeal cream pie and graham central station. We cannot rave about this place enough!
google avatar

Shannon B.

Yelp
Great local family ice cream spot with arcade games. Very casual and warm welcome for summertime fun.
google avatar

Matt K.

Yelp
Stopped in tonight with my family for a quick ice cream. Fun old school ambience, friendly service, and the ice cream was delicious. My wife and I had the banana pudding and the oatmeal creme pie flavors. Both really good! Highly recommend! Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Natasha R.

Yelp
10/10 customer service amazing. Ice cream amazing I didn't know what flavor to choose with so many options. The ice cream I ended up getting was absolutely delicious. We will go back
google avatar

BooksandButter K.

Yelp
Super charming and they kept the charm of the older building and signage. We loved the ice cream and service was great. I had a frozen banana and that was great too! Definitely on our list for Myrtle Beach when we come back for sports!
google avatar

David Y.

Yelp
We go here EVERY time we come to Myrtle beach. They have a great selection of flavors, cones, and other options. Want ice cream? Come here. You'll be glad you did. They are locked in time. It has an old time feel. They could probably save themselves some money upgrading all of their bulbs to LED.
google avatar

Yvonne Z.

Yelp
The interior decor was great, it was really like walking into your grandma's house, in a good way. There was such a great choice of flavors on the menu. There were some arcade games that you could enjoy, which makes it a nice place to just chill and hang out with friends or family. Also the portion sizes are actually insane, I couldn't even finish my single scoop .

Lukas P.

Yelp
Kirks has lots of fun flavors and dream cones for kids. The service is great, amazing, and loving and so is the owner/manager and employees. Kirks ambiance is the video game, the Retro, and Old school fashioned.

Chris E.

Yelp
We went two two days in a row. Great service with friendly staff. The atmosphere is something from years ago. It's very cool inside. The servings are huge. They have so many flavors to choose from. Everyone will have something they'll like.
google avatar

Faye N.

Yelp
It was so good I am impressed of the ice cream the best experience I've ever had ice cream yes
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! First time at Myrtle beach and we went here every night, love the old time vibe, staff is great and friendly. Even if the line is long it goes quick and the ice cream is worth it.

Super T.

Yelp
Whenever in Myrtle we HAVE to go to Luigis and the Kirks for dessert!!! It a tradition 8 years in the making! Great assortment of flavors ( although for 2 x they have not had the dbl chocolate fudge) Great, friendly service and good vibes. Always a wonderful experience!
google avatar

Matthew B.

Yelp
Great ice cream family loved it. Nice family oriented business.! Great variety of ice cream highly recommend

Mimy S.

Yelp
So much charm and what an assortment of flavors to pick from! Great treat that satisfied all the different preferences for our family of 6. The patience and level of service was beyond exceptional.
google avatar

Betsy L.

Yelp
This old-fashioned ice cream parlor was absolutely packed, and it's easy to see why! The delicious ice cream is scooped up in big servings, and there's a lively, fun ambiance, added to by the friendly staff. They have a lot of options, including non-dairy sorbets! I got chocolate peanut butter ice cream, and my companion got a lemon sorbet. Both were lovely!
google avatar

Susan N.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were craving something cold and sweet after dinner on a very hot day. We came across this ice cream parlor. The inside is super cute and gives me that vintage, back in the day vibe. There were many options but I finally settled on the salted caramel after pondering for a good five minutes. Even though the cup looked small, there was plenty of ice cream. It totally hit the spot. Service was also great and I will be back when I return!
google avatar

Shaw B.

Yelp
Staple ice cream shop for every visit to Myrtle Beach. Tried the salted Carmel brownie this trip, insanely good! Staff is always personable and helpful! 5 must for dessert!
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
We had just eaten pizza at UCP and decided we had room for ice cream!! I got a sundae with salted caramel brownie, topped with marshmallow cream, whipped cream and a cherry. My handsome hubby for a double of pralines and cream alongside butterfinger. He didn't get any toppings. The ice cream was great!! Creamy and sweet and tasty!! The lady was very friendly and helpful as we made our choices. The restaurant is clean, and has plenty of seating. We recommend this and we will be back!!
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Definitely recommend. Nice kids that work there. Pretty decent prices and good ice cream.
google avatar

Fioanna R.

Yelp
The sizes of the servings are huge! One bite into my butter pecan and despite the cold temps outside I'm glad we stopped here for this tasty treat!!! Yum!!!
google avatar

Kelly N.

Yelp
Line was out the door and around the block. They had several associates working. It seemed to back up at the register. Perhaps they need a revitalization of the work flow. Mostly bluebell and mayfield pre-made ice cream. Which isn't bad by any means, but not home made. Love that there was seating to sit and enjoy your sweet treat. Enough parking. They have merch!
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
Not sure why the high scores. It is just Blue Bell ice cream and a little overpriced for it. My daughter's ice cream was full of ice(freezer burnt). The place has your grandparents 1970's basement feel.
google avatar

Ray W.

Yelp
Sucks just store bought ice cream; too sweet. There is no recipe that's been kept through the years, just a questionable brand
google avatar

Steve R.

Yelp
Place was conveniently located. Mostly empty when we arrived (4pm on a Friday) and no line. Ice cream was ok, nothing special. My son received a cone with a long brown hair in it. Super gross. He got a replacement cone but that was it. $5.50 for a single scoop on a cake cone (no upgrades whatsoever). Pricey for an unremarkable ice cream
google avatar

Claudia H.

Yelp
The chocolate peanut butter ice cream was so good it had gobs of peanut butter throughout. The service was good and the place was very homey 10/10
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
The employees are very friendly and the ice cream parlor was very clean. Plenty of parking. Ordered a classic banana split. Simply amazing!!!
google avatar

Don K.

Yelp
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. That's not to say that everyone will be. This is a nice place. There's a lot of different types of ice cream served lots of different ways. The employees were great, and even though there was a really long line, service was quick and priced about where I expected. My disappointment is really not more than a quibble. The parlor uses mass-produced ice cream. And I get it. Putting together the equipment and experience to home brew a bunch of different ice cream not to mention the time involved in doing so is expensive. It makes sense to go with mass market ice cream from a business standpoint. So, realistically, most people will be very happy with what they get here, even if it's largely the same thing you can get in the grocery store, served about the same way that ice cream is served at just about any other chain ice cream place out there. Oh well, it was worth a shot.
google avatar

Steve G.

Yelp
This place is an absolute must visit if you're an ice cream connoisseur and in Myrtle. Tons of flavors. Tons of cones, sundaes, shakes, and more! The kids working the counter always do a great job as well. I had the butterfingers ice cream in a chocolate covered waffle cone dipped in peanuts and it was amazing!
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
Solid 4 stars.... My mother recommended this joint, and as usual I'm glad I took her advice! Entering a time warp walking into this old timey spot, and the line around the restaurant told me it was a local favorite... I opted for a hot fudge sundae with loaded pretzel and chocolate peanut butter...both were great, and served with a mound of whipped cream and cherry. Ambiance is buckaroo saloon, service was friendly, and prices are high, but this is a touristy beach town! If I come back to Myrtle again, I'm coming to this place...it makes the list!
google avatar

Azriel T.

Yelp
What an amazing place. Loved the ice cream, loved the vibes and service was also quick as well for how big our group was. Will go back here again no matter what.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
Old fashion vibes, lots of flavors This is slightly off the boulevard, but worth the walk. Over 30 flavors of ice cream to pick from. They make their own whipped topping. Even had a nice dining area to enjoy plus arcade style games to play.
google avatar

Ray N.

Yelp
Truly a vintage "back in the day" parlor down to the great service. We had a turtle Sundae and a Double Cup. Both were delicious down to the last drop. You can pick from a large amount of toppings that only added to the great flavor. Definitely a great place to come back with the entire family!
google avatar

Rebecca W.

Yelp
5 out of 5 stars!!!! Look forward to this ice cream parlor every time I come into town. Super cute store can get busy but they move you through quick. Has a ton of different flavors available.

Kenzie N.

Yelp
You know the place is good when wood paneling is on the wall--means it's been there a while
google avatar

Scott W.

Yelp
Walking into Kirk's is a sudden sense of nostalgia for me. I find myself back in 1987 enjoying my first trip to Myrtle. The ice cream choices are plenty and delicious. Service is excellent and the prices fair.
