KIRO Hiroshima by THE SHARE HOTELS (Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture) 6 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Kiro, in the heart of downtown Hiroshima, offers guests a distinctive, modern boutique-hotel experience. Rooms offer something different for everyone, with Western-style and Japanese accommodations available, as well as a variety of loft and bunk bedding options, making it especially suited to family or group visits. Guests can regroup after sightseeing over drinks at the Poolside, a former swimming pool reimagined as uncanny gathering space, under skylights, surrounded by indoor foliage. Light breakfasts are available here, as well as coffee, tea and a full bar menu throughout the rest of the day. Guests also have access to a shared kitchen, should they wish to prepare meals together, with ingredients sourced from local shops." - Tablet Hotels

Great spot for a family. The pool room floor feels like a 5 star hotel. The rooms maybe small but with the city on your doorstep no complaints. Teenagers ( we had 3 ) liked the enclosed bunk beds. Great welcoming service with beautifully prepared coffee available. Thanks all!!

We have just finished a 2 night stay here as a family of 5. KIRO was excellent place to arrive. Beautiful touches everywhere from the pottery glasses to soft close doors to sensor lights and taps. The pool room is a serene and beautiful spot to escape the sometimes overwhelming of the senses Japan gives to a new arrival. GREAT location, an exclusive area for shopping but only block away from normal every day wears, yes small rooms but please dont arrive to Japan with large suitcases you would be mad and Kiro offer shared spaces to hang out if you wish. Comfy beds cannot do anything else but to recommend.

Rooms are quite small, which is normal for Japan in general. We booked a bunk-bed room and after crib for my 12 month old. The crib they gave us was more like one for a 0-6 month baby which mine definitely is not and we spent the whole time worrying about whether he was going to climb out and hit his head! I'm not sure the hotel should be providing this for babies who can sit up. We didn't even receive a greeting when we arrived at 2pm. The woman at the front desk was cold and unwelcoming. They seem extremely inflexible too, not allowing anyone to check in before 3pm even though their check out time is 10am, earlier than most other hotels. It seems like that logic would only cause a queue at 3pm when everyone wants to check in... The service overall is not great- they seem to think they work at a 5 star hotel, and the surely treated us like we were a bother (even though we had no requests and didn't ask for anything). There needs to be a greater focus on hospitality at this place. Would not recommend.

Had a wonderful stay here with family. Great location and clean/modern rooms and facilities. But what made this an outstanding experience was the service. The reception a staff went above and beyond to help liaise with a luggage shipping company so I could get my suitcase delivered to the airport in time for my flight a few days later. Despite the language barrier, they were able to help me fill out the necessary forms and make phone calls on my behalf to ensure my bag got there in time. Would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you so much!

The location is excellent and I would consider it to be a much more fun and vibrant area to stay than the train station area which is typically the other option you'd consider. KIRO came to us recommended by a friend. The common areas were as we expected...funky and modern. Our room rate did not include breakfast and the hotel would not accommodate us for breakfast due to that being fully booked up. There are some excellent bakery cafes nearby which we used instead. The room was a huge disappointment. It bears absolutely no resemblance to the pictures shown on the website for the standard twin room. Those appear light filled with a real window. Ours was dark, dank and depressing with a tiny, opaque excuse for a window (see photo) that could barely open a few centimetres for air. I consider this room to effectively be windowless, I think many would struggle with this. If you're going to sell rooms with such a poor aspect at least be honest about it. As some other reviews mentioned the carpet and walls were grimy and marked. I tend to book a twin room in Japan for the luxury of a few extra square metres. Here the twin beds were pushed against each other (that is in their room photos) and the twin room did not really offer any benefit. In summary, we loved Hiroshima and the location of the hotel...we did not enjoy the KIRO at all.

Awful. Stayed in two different rooms over three nights. Carpet throughout the hotel grossly filthy, lots od stains and fluid drip marks in the rooms. Walls are dirty. The lounge is airy and get lots of natural light shown. No other photos match anything in the property. Read the negative reviews too. They tell the real story. No idea how they're getting guests to post postive reviews. Not refundable either, so complaining will not help you. Water switches between scalding hot and freezing cold alternatively as we showered. Line staff was nice. Manager apparently hid behind the line staff. Avoid.

What a lovely hotel to stay in while in Hiroshima. Feels more like a five star hotel to be honest. The staff and reception were most helpful and friendly. Very courteous. The amenities and rooms were quite excellent. All of the amenities you need are included, toothbrushes, razor etc. The room was very spacious and clean. Very upscale vibe to it and very open. I liked it. Plenty of room for your luggage and a nice large bed with good bedding. The breakfast option was nice too. Had some good orange crepes by the Pool Side. It was good. Highly recommend staying at this hotel if you’re visiting Hiroshima. I would stay here again, 4/5 stars. Good hospitality!

This is such a lovely hotel! Our room was just the right size for a couple— small like every hotel room in Japan, you have to keep your luggage well organized, but that is normal. The location is wonderful. It’s close to so many restaurants, Okonomimura, and very hip shopping. It was a nice walk to the Atomic Bomb Museum/Park, we made the walk multiple times although a bus does run nearby. The lobby has a rotating coffee shop/barista and every day we were there the coffee and matcha were made with great care and delicious. Our favorite thing at the hotel was the beautiful bar/restaurant with the greenhouse ceiling. We were tired on our first night and enjoyed having a beer and planning out our next few days. We were even lucky enough to see it snowing the next morning at breakfast through the greenhouse windows. Really lovely!
