Kiruna (Swedish Lapland)

Although I am an LKAB employee, I had a really good tour down in the mine. Probably thes best tour guide I ever had on similar ocasions. Informative, funny and yes, probably the best one. Choose the english trip if you want to get the same guide :)

This city tour shows spectacular views, special architecture, high-quality art, and the process of moving our city center. 120 years ago mining started in the area. The plan was to build a modern Model Town, with good conditions for the inhabitants. Art, education, and new technology were crucial in the process, today we call it social sustainability. Can we rebuild a new Model Town, and how to attract new citizens? We will observe the church, and the old town, and visit our new town hall/art museum. Our local guide has given courses in sustainable city planning and regional history.

A very convenient and well-organized place in Kiruna, right in the heart of Swedish Lapland. Even though it might not show up on Google Street View yet, it’s actually very easy to find and well signposted. We started our LKAB mining route from here, which was a great experience and very well arranged. This place works perfectly as a meeting point for tours and activities in the area. By the way I recommend the tour 100% As a tourist, it’s especially helpful because you can buy souvenirs, grab a coffee, and even leave your baggage here, which makes exploring Kiruna much easier and stress-free. The staff were helpful and used to dealing with visitors. Overall, a great stop for tourists—practical, welcoming, and well suited for anyone visiting Kiruna for tours or sightseeing.

Incredible city with interesting history, climat is cold, but people are nice and warm:))

Interesting city because of its mining activities and the relocation of the whole city. I'm not sure whether such a quick and yet perhaps very radical renewal of the living situation isn't too quick for some people in the city. But friendly and interesting people and area.

Kiruna is a beautiful town in the north of Sweden. It is famous for Iron mine, Esrange Space Center, winter snow activities and Ice Hotel is not far away either. If you are looking for Northern Lights then there are lot of tour groups that take you to the locations where you can spot or capture Northern Lights. Some times there are chances that you are able to see the Northern Lights from the city itself if they are strong. Depending on the season you there might be a possibility that the tour groups are fully booked. If you are planning something really specific then book in advance or you can always visit Tourist Information centre and they help you to book a tour based on your interest and availability of the tour group. Camp Ripan and many other another locations can help you to book a tour group as well. This small town of 17,000 people has a lot to offer for winter activities and for summer as well. There are lot of activities for everyone so come prepared to have some fun.

Omg! What a great experience at this place i had. I m a crazy snow lover, so I have to experience this place during winter. Did dog sled and created so beautiful memories ❤️ We tried reindeer burger too, which is only available during specific season. But its hard to get lucky to see northern lights but may be next time in summer we can plan for it 😀 But really for snow lover, must go place is this. But get really well prepare your warm clothes and advice to look temperature in advance before packing 😊
