On the Grid : Kish

"The persian Restaurant "Kish" is full of culinary suprises. It also tries a different approach for the lunch buffet: Pay what you want. The authentic and well-kept restaurant shines with good service and high-quality, fresh dishes. There are some real treats on the menu, like lamb, poultry- and beef-spit, a variety of vegetables or different types of oriental rice. A persian dessert sweetens the day. The combination of "Pay what you want" and the good food is what makes this place special." - made in

We ordered the Khoresh Gheymeh and Chelo Kabab Shishlik Soltani (a combination of lamb chops and fillet kebab) at Kish Restaurant. The portion sizes were very generous, and the taste of the kebab was truly excellent. The Gheymeh, however, was a bit different in flavor compared to classic Iranians cuisine. As a complimentary appetizer, they brought us bread, cheese, herbs, and soup, which we really enjoyed! The bread served with our meal was very fresh and soft, and it seemed to be homemade. For after our meal, we ordered saffron tea, which was served with delicious halva. The waiters were very good and provided excellent service, although it was a bit interesting that each one spoke a different language to us. The restaurant's atmosphere felt a bit too crowded and full of decorations to me. The interior design seems to be inspired by the Golestan Palace in Iran from the Qajar era, as there were pictures of Qajar kings all over the restaurant.

Everything was great — I can just say wow! The decoration, the food, and the service were all amazing. We only ordered the dish of the day, but they first served us bread and cheese, followed by Ash Reshte while we waited for our main plates. Everything was incredibly delicious and flavorful — the food reminded me of Iran. After the meal, they even brought us tea and dessert as a thank-you. We tried four different dishes, and all of them were 10/10. I highly recommend this place — it should be the first restaurant you visit in Frankfurt! I promise you’ll taste some of the best food of your life. Enjoy!

I had the pleasure of dining at this Persian restaurant in Frankfurt, and I must say, it was one of the best Persian restaurant experiences I’ve ever had! From the moment you step inside, you feel like you’ve been transported to a beautiful, traditional restaurant in Iran. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed to capture the essence of Persian culture. The food was absolutely amazing—every dish was full of rich, authentic flavors, perfectly cooked, and served in generous portions. Whether you’re a fan of juicy kebabs, flavorful stews, or fragrant saffron rice, you’re in for a treat. The quality and taste exceeded my expectations, making it a truly memorable meal. The staff were incredibly professional and welcoming. They were very responsive to our requests and treated us with great respect, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Their attentiveness and friendly attitude truly stood out. The only downside was the price, which was on the higher side, and the fact that they only accept cash. This can be inconvenient, especially if you’re dining with a group, as you’ll need to have a large amount of cash on hand. However, despite this, the overall experience was fantastic, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Persian dining experience in Frankfurt. It’s definitely worth a visit!

The food here was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere had a fancy yet authentic Iranian vibe that really made the experience memorable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Although our order took about 40 minutes to arrive—possibly due to the specific dishes we chose—there was a complimentary side dish that made the wait much more enjoyable. Overall, a great place to dine, and I’d definitely recommend it to others!

Nice atmosphere, nice design. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The waiting time to get food took a little longer, I think about thirteen minutes, this is because they are always busy. Honestly, I expected more delicious Persian food in this location…

A classy and truly authentic Iranian restaurant, the moment you step inside, you’ll feel the scent of Iran in the air. The staff are incredibly respectful and welcoming, making sure you have a pleasant and memorable time. And the food… absolutely exceptional! With every bite, it feels as if a piece of Iran is coming to life right in front of you. A heartfelt thank you to the team of this restaurant and the manager.

When I say this restaurant was absolutely stunning—I mean it! I came in right at opening for an early lunch and ordered the chicken kebab and minced meat over saffron rice. The flavors were incredible! The chicken was just a bit dry in the center, but the minced meat kebab totally made up for it—so juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. I’m seriously obsessed! Believe the hype!!!

Google
We chose this place because of its high rating. The parking can be complicated if you are driving, but metro and buses are available. When we arrived there, we were surprise by the architect and the design. It was nice with some royal feelings. The waiters cOuld communicate in english which was nice. We ordered our starters which were yummy, along with two diffrent persian red wine, which were tasty too. On the other hand when it came to the main course (kish plate) we were not really satisfied. It lacked some taste! I give 4 stars also because the sevice cOuld be improved. I dropped my knife in front of the young waitress, but she didn't hesitate bring me another. She also forgot our main course, and 40 minutes later when we reminded her colleagues, they said they haven't gotten it! Anyway. It was a good experience, trying it out while we were in Frankfurt. Thank yOu team Kish restauarant and I hope that my review helps your team to improve, and the other people to get a clear report. 😊

Yelp
Sehr gut! Lecker! Believe in the hype! When I say this restaurant was absolutely stunning, I mean it! I came right when it opened for an early lunch 11:30AM and ordered the chicken kebab and minced meat over saffron rice. The chicken kebab was just a bit dry in the center, but the minced meat kebab totally made up for it! It was so, so, SO juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. I am obsessed!

Yelp
Kish is rated pretty highly on Google, but not on Yelp, which is surprising because the food is absolutely fantastic despite its price. Honestly, might be one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants I have ever had. We were surprised to see that there wasn't many people in the restaurant and were seated immediately. - Falafel / Hummus - Coming here, I would not have expected to order this dish as I felt like falafels are quite a "normal" dish, but this was absolutely fantastic and may or may not be the best falafel I have ever had. I feel like usually, falafels are quite dry, but not this one. It was a bit moist and the seasoning they put on the outside elevated the dish completely. I really appreciated the yellow dressing they put on the salad too, every so slightly sweet which compliments very well with the bitter vegetables. - Tschelo Kabab Torsch - I got the mixed chicken and lamb kebab and each piece of meat was so delicious and tender. It also wasn't very dry which I was a bit worried about. I appreciated the rice quite a bit too although I wish the entire thing was saffron rice instead of just the top. The additional yogurt dressing that we ordered helped a lot with the dish. - Complimentary Dessert + Tea - Not sure what this dessert was in particular, felt a little bit like gelatin and bean paste but it was pretty good and I was surprised that it was complimentary. I liked the tea a lot more though as the sugar cube really elevated its flavor. I appreciate that they gave it to us boiling hot as well. Overall, very solid meal at Kish and I would definitely back again. They are really elevating Middle Eastern food like no other.

Yelp
This was a pleasant surprise! I am in Germany for business and bumped into this place by chance. Their Ghaymeh Bademjan is out of this world, done just right, high quality at a reasonable price. Prompt and courteous service. Today im heading back to California but will definitely stop by in my future visits.

Yelp
So far, the best persian restaurant in Frankfurt and I have already tried Hani and Pesteh. The setting and design are traditional and very beautiful. The kubideh kabap was the most tender kebap I have ever tried. The food was, in general, superb. The service was excellent and downstairs they had a beautiful Nowruz (Persian New Year) table setting. The only minor thing which I didnt like was the Persian olive dip ( zeytoon parvardeh) . It was way too sweet and no flavour at all. There was also a young waiter ( 12 years old I guess) who was so adorable and well mannered. So far, the best persian restaurant in Frankfurt, but I still have to try hafez and shandiz.

Yelp
I can here the first time for dinner and we ordered kubide and fessenjen - both were amazing. Huge quantity, delicious food, and warm hospitality. Then we came back for the lunch buffet. It's spectacular - maybe a dozen dishes? All of them wonderful! There was also dessert. The most incredible part is that you pay what you want. I'm totally smitten and can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Exceptional service, friendly staff and great food. Tables outside were quite pleasant and really appreciated that they were open later than the other restaurants around.

Yelp
Food and staff are excellent no complaints there. The only issue is the restaurant itself. It's a very closed and tight space with not much room to move. The tables downstairs are in a stuffy area where you feel very claustrophobic. The table upstairs are better but the spaces in between the tables are very tight. The outside tables are the best.

Yelp
Yes, really nice! Go for it, they take care of the unexpected details which is extra nice. Compliments to the chef.

Yelp
I used deliveroo on this one cause it gave me coupons...food taste was ok but when considering quantity/price ratio i won't do it again... Maybe in-house dinner would have some additional positive score but unfortunately we didn't have the chance to verify it

Yelp
Amazing iranian restaurant! the food was just amazing and the portions were huge! you also get a nice flat bread and some apetizers in the beginning and they also give out a lovely tea at the end of the meal. Very authentic food and nice service. Couldn't be any better. Definitely going back there

Qype User (Eveill…)

Yelp
Kish is a nice place to eat once in a while, although the food all seems to be flavoured according to one of three schemes, so eating there more than once every six monthes gets boring. The waitstaff is friendly the first time you go (they ask if you have been there before), but otherwise it's a toss up. A good place if you like Persian food, nothing too special.

Qype User (harpro…)

Yelp
Sorry to say, but the lack of cleanliness means low marks for Kish. It's rated one of the best Persian restaurants in Frankfurt, but Schandis on Nordendstr is 100 % better. A dirty curtain between the kitchen and dining room tried to obscure the steamy kitchen where men one of whom had a bloody? bandage on his thumb threw vegetables and greens onto plates as fast as possible. The appetizer platter had obviously been made hours before, as it was warm and the sauces had started to sweat out their water. Lamb in a vegetable sauce was almost completely vegetable sauce and very little lamb. No tadik was available. I had a sick stomach after the meal. The bathrooms stunk already from the staircase. I was prepared to be impressed, since the reviews here are good, but unfortunately the experience was very negative. I was there with a Persian friend who was not at all happy with the experience, either.
