Kishiwada Castle

Its a nice castle. One of the castles that can be found in Southern part of Osaka. The admission is just ¥300 per head. It shows the charming and serene piece of medieval Japan. The Hachijin Garden that spreads out in front of the castle tower is also a must-see

Beautiful castle, especially during cherry blossom season. Pretty calm, mainly Japanese tourists. Lots of street food stands just outside to eat in the sun with a view, I had a tasty okonomoyaki prepared by the sweetest joyful senior Japanese guy!

Amazing castle. Very quiet with hardly any crowds. The history was very interesting and the staff were friendly. No lift to the top however it's not a big climb and the internal stairs are nice and easy to climb plus you can take a break halfway up to view the museum floor of which there are two plus a model of the castle on the top floor where the balcony / viewing platform is. The rock garden is very peaceful and you can sit under the sade of trees or in the sun if you choose to take it in. There is a history of the castle, including the story of the myth surrounding the castles defense, which is well worth viewing.

Unfortunately the castle was temporarily closed on that day I visited. But it looks magnificent from the outside. The moat was likely with animals and the grounds outside was a nice walk. Take your time and enjoy the peace and quiet!

Randomly ended up here. Normal town yet the neighbourhood near the castle is all castle themed. Gates, roofs, footpaths etc. It's soo cool. You can go inside the castle between 9-16. I was a tad bit late. But the area outside the castle is really beautiful

The area around the castle is gorgeous and on a Sunday filled with vendors selling trinkets and street food. Sakura blossoms were falling everywhere. The stonework is not well assembled, but it is still a beautiful area with a fantastic stone garden. The grounds are active with businesses. There was a dojo in one of the castle buildings actively in use. Very cool atmosphere.

Beautifully restored ancient castle off the beaten track. The lack of English on exhibit descriptions shows they’re not accustomed to foreign tourists, however they were very welcoming and Google translate solves all the issues.

I was able to come here on my last day in japan and was delighted to be able to see the sakura in bloom. This is a small castle but the grounds are kept really clean and my moms old high school is right across the street so I came here more for the memories of coming here as a kid. But I wast treated to small crowds and beautiful sakura.

I have been interested in castles, which have many dramas and romances. I would like to look around all the castles in Japan. I have already succeeded in two-thirds of them. Each of them has respective characteristic. Osaka has two castles, one is Osaka castle, the other Kishiwada castle. Its donjon was burnt down by a thunder in the Edo period and was reconstructed in the Showa era to be three-storied. A common ticket for three halls of this Kishiwada castle, Danjiri hall, Natural History Materials museum is sold. It is more beneficial than buying a ticket separately. On the second floor of the castle you can see the works of picture scrolls, writings, etc. in association with Kishiwada in the exhibition room. I enjoyed its culture. If you come here, cherry blossom viewing season is recommendable! This is also a noted spot as well as Osaka castle, but not so crowded as it. Kishiwada is famous for Danjiri festival, too. Only men are permitted to ride on Danjiri. float. People enjoy looking at the powerful and exciting performances. An acquaintance of mine lives in Kishiwada, and from her house the festival can be seen well. I was invited by her, but I politely declined her offer as I felt frightened by its enthusiasm and power.
