Kisiwa House

Nestled in the intricate streets of Stone town the Kisiwa house offers a small piece of history from days gone by. Modern luxury in a sympathetically restored 1800s house is remarkable. Rooms were spacious and clean with everything you would expect. Worth noting steep stair case which could be problematic for mobility issues. Hotel manager was particularly attentive and committed to ensure your stay was perfect.

We were passing through Stone Town for two nights as part of our honeymoon trip. We were greeted with a very warm welcome from the reception team and hotel manager. The staff were so friendly and really couldn’t do enough for us! Very clean, modern spacious rooms with a huge bathroom/shower. Comfortable beds with mosquito nets, with a turn down service in the evenings was very much appreciated. Breakfast was great - fresh fruit, with selection of breads/pastries, and then a choice of hot breakfast options. The location was excellent, perfect for exploring Stone Town, everywhere is in walking distance. We would highly recommend kisiwa house to anyone looking for a convenient but luxurious place to stay in Stone Town!

What a wonderful little gym in Paje. Excellent staff and very cooperative. We had a nice large suite. It was really comfortable stay! It has a homy feel to it and it indeed was a home of someone. Breakfast was good, and it was the only meal we had here. They were kind enough to modify our reservation to continue our stay in their paje property.

Wonderful peaceful hideaway in the heart of Stonetown. Perfect base to explore the old town from. Great breakfasts and dinner. Staff are excellent and room spotless. Old world charm with all the modern touches in a historic house that is nearly 200 years old and steeped in history.

Our stay here (with our two young daughters) was wonderful. Our room was spacious and pristine, but the highlight was the staff. Anything we needed assistance with, the team was more than willing to assist (including many calls to the airport after another traveller took one of our bags.. we got it back). Our youngest can be quite a chatterbox, and the Kisiwa team (especially Shenda) really made so much time to chat away with her, great memories. Meals were delicious, and the restaurant team were a delight. A wonderful place for either a couple, or a family.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel in Zanzibar. The building itself is stunning, showcasing traditional Arabic architecture with charming details and a unique atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home.||The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and very well equipped. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged to ensure a relaxing stay.||What really stood out was the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. Everyone was welcoming and helpful throughout our visit.||A very special thank you goes to Rosemary, whose warm and kind personality made our stay even more memorable. Her heartfelt hospitality and genuine care made us feel truly valued and at ease.||We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an authentic yet comfortable experience in Zanzibar.

Fantastic experience, lovely hidden gem, ideally located. Exquisitely refurbished historical building with understated luxury, but what sets it apart is the fantastic staff. All were extremely acommodating for any request. The resident manager Frank to Kassim and everyone else. I would recommend and stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at Kizhi Warehouse! The food was absolutely delicious, with a variety of fresh and flavorful dishes that exceeded our expectations. The service was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always with a smile. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, with great attention to detail when it comes to cleanliness. The hotel is also perfectly located in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore the surroundings. We truly felt at home and will definitely come back with pleasure. 100% recommended!
