Kismező - Hungarian Cuisine

The food here was the best we had in Budapest. If you’re looking for local Hungarian food this is the spot. We had 2 mains, a starter and a soup and we had probably too much food. Try the cottage cheese pasta it was surprisingly the best pasta ever. The white wine we had was lovely too. All round lovely wee find. Slightly pricier than some places we went but the flavour was worth it.

A truly fantastic Hungarian restaurant with wonderful traditional dishes, superb service and a very relaxed atmosphere. What more could you ask for, eat here it’s brilliant.

Omg! This place was so good. Food was awesome. Our waiter was friendly and gracious. Lovely to chat with. If you have the set menu, make sure you are really hungry because it was almost too much but so delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to experience authentic Hungarian cuisine. Thank you so much.

Marvelous! It is a very nice place with very professional service. The food was excellent under an offer of original dishes from their kitchen. Godd dishes presentation, and proper wi es for each one.

Had a great first night in Budapest thanks to the dining experience here. The food is delicious and David was a great server who recommended me the perfect wine to pair with my food.

Let’s start with the fact that David made the *PERFECT* Old Fashion’s (a hard task to impress two ol’ Tennesseans). Add to that our waitress Diana was friendly, knowledgeable and chose the perfect Polinkas for our meals (were still waiting to try her grandpa’s) and ensured our meal was seamless and delightful! The fact that the food was mouthwatering was just the icing on the cake! Highly recommend this authentic Hungarian restaurant!

Had a truly perfect dinner here, a rare event. I decided to go all-in Hungarian Paprika and was truly rewarded: the gulyas was a combination of an excellent beef broth with an excellent thick vegetable soup. The paprikas was a superb experience accompanied by sourdough bread. Everybody at our table was delighted by their dishes. I tried my table neighbor's burger, it was world-class. Execution and service are perfect. You can literally observe them cooking and also how much they value quality management (to the point where the kitchen chef requests another batch of chips to accompany the burger since the first batch was not good enough). The service by a waiter, who politely introduced himself as David, was friendly, competent, and very attentive. He created a great atmosphere, relaxed and taken care of at the same time. Their wine list is a bit limited but you cant go wrong with a bottle of "Bull's Blood", and you will appreciate the fact that it comes at store prices (below 10k HUF !). This contributed to a pleasant surprise when the bill finally arrived: you might easily pay more for a fancy breakfast in Budapest than for this great local Hungarian dinner.

This place is a must if you're looking for quality Hungarian food and service. We started with the potato pancakes, which was delicious in the paprika sauce. We had tge stuffed cabbage (with lamb) and goulash for our mains and both were exceptional. Also had sourdough with butter on the side for dipping in the goulash. This place did not disappoint!
