As a first time foreign tourist in Hokkaido, I have just stayed here for two nights at this resort in Utoro, Shiretoko. Overall, this resort lives up to its billing as a "hotel and resort" with its many nice common facilities, spacious room and generous "tie-ins" - in the case of the last, its complimentary all-day grazing and drinking with beer on tap from 1pm-10pm at its Lounge, and complimentary one ice cream scoop per night stay with its "in house" dessert shop. And talking about "in house", I enjoyed browsing and shopping at its gift shop, and using its gym. As for the room that I stayed in, all was good except that it lacked a bedside table and the lighting was quite poor in certain parts of the room. That said, I did appreciate that my room did not come with a "standard" bathtub found in hotels in Japan; instead, it had a more functional and space-saving shower cubicle. I also appreciated (as someone in his mid-60s) that I did not have to step up or down into the room's toilet whenever I wanted to use it.
