You'll really get the bang for your buck here. The host is amazing, will make you laugh (and cry tears of joy), tell you all about the surrounding neighbourhood, where to eat etc. etc. Paired with the very artsy interior of the GH, you'll feel right at home. Don't come if you don't like calm and positive atmosphere and happiness :) Free coffee and tea btw (+cutlery and stuff)

Fantastic little place right by the best parts of Matsue. The owner (Kenji-san) is really fun. He doesn't speak a lot of English for those who don't speak Japanese, but he will make sure you are taken care of and know some of the best places to go. (Be sure to check out his friends restaurant Green's Baby) Very comfortable with all the things you need including bikes to zoom around town on. The owner and his friends are basically the art district of Matsue, and it shows in the best way. The atmosphere and decorations are fantastic. If you are into coffee you can pay a little and have some great coffee made by Kenji-san. Places like this are why I can't be bothered to go to hotels.

Awesome place. Family vibe. Great location next to the castle. You can use bikes for free. Yamamoto has been taking care of me my whole stay. Clean facilities. A bus from the station can take you to the castle, and the guest house is basically 50 meters from the bus stop. Spent 2 nights went to Adachi Museum (JR+free shuttle in Yasugi), castle, modern art museum, chilled around the peaceful lake. Great Experience.

Positive: Located in a what appears to be a converted industrial unit or garage no films no high expectation but brilliantly located for the castle. Pod style form but comfortable with duvet. Negative: Could be 'finished ' a little nicer.

Positive: I had a fun and comfortable day with stylish atmosphere and soft interior. I recommend it..
