Excellent selection of Japanese knives - best in London and incredibly knowledgeable team. Also offer great value, high quality professional sharpening, I would really recommend the workshops to help you gain confidence sharpening on your own at home.

Interesting shop, merchandised by a savvy hand, steeped in a paradigm. Specialist Japanese cooking knife/hand-held cutting instrument stockist and sharpening service/workshop. Also Korean culinary embellishments and a miscellany of mostly kitchen related items including obscure gadgets, esoteric cookware/books, implements, paraphernalia, T-shirts ( oh dear! ) and assorted, niche “sauce” brands and what-have-we-here’s : venturing into the fickle artisanal peripheries. This be no criticism. Now, if you’re into cutting-edge, this be your ting.

Bought my first proper knife from this lovely little spot thanks to a wonderfully charismatic co-owner (a former abattoir worker, I believe) whose enthusiasm for his trade is infectious.

Fantastic service from Yuni who sharpened my Fujiwara Gyoto and Saji Petty today. As I booked a slot via their website, I was able to watch the process while Yuni talked me through what she was doing. Next step is to book on for one of their knife sharpening courses.

Great store with interesting range of products and amazing staff. Will be back! Edit 2. When I went to the shop, I went to get my knife sharpened. I came back once it had been done and they had done an amazing job! The staff at Kitchen Provisions are really friendly and I found that they were very helpful. They showed me the best knives they had and they also showed me the most useful kitchen utensils. There is also a good variety of cookbooks which, as I read through them, they were really interesting and useful! I love going to Kitchen Provisions and hope others will too.

Not a good place for sharpening service. Got my knives scratched up. Never going back to them again.

Found the sharpening class lacking. The focus was v.much on the action, not much explanation was given to the difference in knife styles, what they are best for etc. only after I bought a whetstone did I learn about lapping, which I think should've been mentioned in the class. Definitely got me started but wasn't as informative as I expected.

Aside from the knives, there are a lot of great kitchen tools and books in this store. That said, it's mostly about the knives, and the selection is second to none. The team is really knowledgeable and provide long-term, great service. I had a knife that chipped and was sure it was going to be unfixable, but they got it to me, good as new, in a few days.
