How to See Old and New Dubai, According to Chef Sahar Parham Al Awadhi | Condé Nast Traveler

"In late afternoon, I ride the seaside track here toward the Burj Al Arab, pausing for spiced karak tea at beachside kiosks; you’ll spot scooters, bikes, and rollerbladers, and just hang out at the public beach—it’s a really nice, unexpected thing for visitors to do." - Nicola Chilton

25 Best Things to Do in Dubai, According to Locals

"A popular public beach known for being 'great and uncrowded' with practical facilities—showers and bathrooms—plus food stands and coffee shops. It's recommended for water activity rentals (kitesurfing gear, stand-up paddleboards) and for cycling the lengthy boardwalk on a rented Careem bike." - Latifah Al-Hazza Latifah Al-Hazza Latifah Al-Hazza is a Chicago-based travel journalist, documentary filmmaker, and co-founder of Femscape Sojourns, a boutique women's travel company. On the Grid : Kite Surfer's Beach

"Lined with little restaurants, cafes and juice bars, Kite Beach is a haven for beach lovers. The open waters are ideal for kitesurfers from the nearby kitesurfing school, for paddle-boarding or even water skiing. With a running track, beach volleyball courts and bungee jumping zone, there’s lots to do around here. Filled with tourists and residents alike, you’ll find it hard to claim a spot on this beach on a beautiful day, so go early." - Samia Kallidis

The 25 Best Things to Do in Dubai

"Like a Miami beach with its wide stretch of sand, aquamarine water, beach chaises, and enough activities to make you feel like sunbathing isn't quite enough, Kite Beach is for beach lovers. Join a game of volleyball, give kite-surfing a try, or take a run around the soft running track—when it's not 106 degrees out." - Melinda Healy

Kite Beach is absolutely one of the best spots in Dubai! The beach is clean, spacious, and perfect for all ages. My family and I enjoyed walking along the shore, playing beach volleyball, and watching people kite surfing—it’s such a lively atmosphere. The food trucks and cafes are great for snacks and drinks, and the facilities, including showers and toilets, are well-maintained. Parking is easy, and there’s plenty of space for kids to run around safely. Pro tip: visit early morning or around sunset for the most beautiful views and cooler temperatures. Highly recommend bringing a mat or blanket and staying a few hours to fully enjoy everything!

Kite Beach is one of Dubai's best beach destinations, offering a vibrant and free public beach experience. Ideally winter months is ideal for enjoying its stunning views of the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel and assorted beach activities. The beach is open 24/7, with its facilities, food outlets, and activity operators generally available from daylight hours until late in the evening. The beach caters to a wide range of interests and fitness levels. It is renowned for its excellent kitesurfing conditions, with equipment rental and lessons readily offered by local operators. Visitors can also engage in other water sports such as stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, jet skiing, and wakeboarding. For those who prefer land-based activities, a 14-kilometre padded track runs alongside the beach, perfect for jogging, cycling, and rollerblading. Additional amenities include free beach volleyball courts, an outdoor gym, and a dedicated skate park. Families are particularly well catered for, with children's play areas, trampolines, and the popular Aqua Fun inflatable water park, which requires paid entry. Those seeking relaxation can swim in the clear, lifeguard-patrolled waters, sunbathe on the soft sand, or rent sunbeds and umbrellas. The beach is also a favourite spot for photography, especially at sunset with the Burj Al Arab in the background. Practical facilities include clean restrooms, changing rooms, showers, and drinking water fountains, though it is important to note that locker facilities are not available for swimmers. Ample parking and a variety of dining options complete the offering. Visitors should be aware that the beach becomes exceptionally busy on weekends and are strongly advised not to miss the spectacular sunset views, which are particularly beautiful in the winter season.

We came to Kite Beach twice to watch the sunrise. One morning there was a dust storm, and the sun barely broke through — but even then the place felt special. The water is incredibly warm, the sand is soft and pleasant underfoot, and the beach is wide and clean. There’s a promenade for jogging, showers, and changing cabins. And the view of the sail-shaped building in the distance makes it all even more beautiful.

Kite Beach Dubai was absolutely perfect for our family. The sand was soft, the water temperature in November 2025 was amazing, and the whole atmosphere was just ideal for a relaxing day by the sea. We loved every moment!”

Kite Beach in Dubai certainly holds its own as a worthwhile coastal destination. It's a place where activity hums quietly beneath the sun. You'll find individuals engaging in watersports, predominantly kitesurfing as the name suggests, adding a visual dynamism to the seascape. There's a certain understated energy, a comfortable rhythm that pervades the atmosphere. The beach itself offers a decent stretch of sand, allowing for leisurely walks or simply a pause to observe the scene. Food trucks are present, providing a practical array of refreshments without being overly intrusive on the natural setting. It's a functional space, effectively catering to those seeking a day by the sea. While perhaps lacking the polished sheen of some of Dubai's other coastal offerings, Kite Beach possesses a certain authenticity. It caters to a more active and outdoorsy crowd, fostering a sense of casual camaraderie. Overall, it's a perfectly reasonable choice for a day at the beach, providing a reliable and understated coastal experience. A pleasant enough place to spend a few hours, should the mood strike.
