An incredible spot for windsurfing, kite surfing, and all kinds of water sports! 🌊🪁 Kite Point is an absolute gem—especially for beginners or anyone looking to learn. The water here is shallow, warm, and super beginner-friendly, making it perfect for practicing without worry. There’s a consistent breeze that makes kiting and windsurfing a dream! Just below the launch area, there's a fantastic beach with clean bathrooms and outdoor showers—ideal for families with kids who want to splash around in safe, shallow waters. The entire area feels well thought out and welcoming. And let’s not forget the sunsets… they are breathtaking. Golden skies, peaceful water, and kites dancing in the wind—pure magic. 🌅 Highly recommend this spot for anyone who loves the wind, water, and a relaxed vibes!

This is a beautiful spot to watch the sunset and take pictures. There’s a parking lot with easy access to the sound. It’s very accessible and not a far walk at all, and you could even stay in the parking lot and have a great view! The water is shallow and there aren’t many waves so it’s a great place to take small children to swim as well.

Best place to swim! Shallow waters you can walk in forever. Great for little kids because you don't have to worry about the waves knocking them over or pulling them under. And there are crabs everywhere, my son absolutely loves it!

This was such a calm place to take the kids. Shallow for quite some time, and easy to access. It is so easy to forget the time!

Very nice Kite/Wing/Windsurf Spot. Shallow water for beginner and lot of room. Little to moderate chop. Be careful of the electric line if you don't want to get "toasted"!

It is a lovely, chill spot to watch the sunset and do recreational kiteboarding. I had never heard of the sport, but Google was a place to visit, and this location was recommended for those mentioned above. It was my last night stay, but I definitely must see if you are staying on Hatteras Island. Bring a blanket and pull up. Suppose you have a vehicle capable of driving on the beach. Drive on, sit on your hood, and enjoy the beautiful sunset and kiteboarding. I'm sure it's a lot of traffic during high peak season. Most kids were back in school during my vacation week. So, there is less traffic. 😊

Gorgeous place to hang out sound-side and watch the sunset.

I launched at Real for $$$, I tried to self launch in the sound and wrecked a kite, then found this perfect kiteboard beach with friendly folks and the perfect launch setup. Hate to give away the secrets, but this is it.
