Bought breakfast from here for the first time on Doordash and I LOVED it! The BLT croissant was soft and fluffy and fresh tasting. It was also a huge portion for me! The matcha lemonade is to die for!! The perfect blend of the two flavors.

Went yesterday for the first time and ordered a brisket and egg sandwich. It came with grilled mushrooms. I skipped the cheese and requested jalapenos, which they marinate in house. Also got the spicy honey on the side. That sandwich was SOooo delicious!! I'm still thinking about it the next day. And, the staff was informative, helpful, and proud. It's hard to rate atmosphere because tables are in the hall and out front, so not much atmosphere, but don't let the deter you.

One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. I hope they expand a restaurant near Patterson park. We need more breakfast options. Their sourdough bread is unmatched. Omg and the latte! I don't know where they source there beans but it was one of the freshest coffee I ever tasted.

5/3/25 - Terrific customer service from all employees. Unfortunately, handwashing isn't a procedure that is held in high esteem in this establishment. I've patronized this coffee shop twice now. 1st Time (5/3/25) - As I went to the cashier to order, there was a man towards the back chopping vegetable(s). He stopped what he was doing to get my order without washing his hands before or after taking my order. After using the register to take my order and handing me my receipt, he went back to prepping in the back without washing his hands. I will never eat food from here. GERMS ARE REAL PEOPLE! 2nd Time (5/6/25) - I was met promptly at the register with a big smile and a warm welcome. She then picked up a cup with her fingers touching the inside of the cup. I politely brought it to her attention. She appreciated the reminder and got a new cup. I like the coffee shop because of how friendly everyone is, but the lack of handwashing is concerning. Lastly, prices are fair. Thank you for refreshing lattes.

This restaurant will always be one of my favorites! They are tucked into a tiny spot in a huge building, but every inch of the place is filled with personality and charm. They have a good, creative menu and decent prices. Their food is always fresh and prepared with care. They take allergies very seriously. I have celiac's and feel safe eating here. When I ate there in person, I was able to see that they prepared my gluten free sandwich completely separately and with dedicated equipment. I usually order delivery through DoorDash while at work and everything is well packaged and arrives in great shape. Though it's small, they make good use of the space. They have some limited seating both indoors and out and even have some games there for you to play! I have recommended this place to friends and family and definitely think it's worth a visit!

Google
Reviewing location on University Ave. Food and coffee were great. I had avocado toast on sourdough, with a fried egg on top. Drip coffee was fresh and flavorful. I gave less than five stars for service and atmosphere, because seating is limited to three very small tables in a cramped hallway, and food comes wrapped in paper instead of having an option to eat off a ceramic plate with silverware. This is not a place to bring your book or laptop and stay a while. But, it is a good place to grab a tasty bite and a coffee. Staff were pleasant, and food was freshly made without delay. I recommend coming here for the food and coffee, not for atmosphere.

Google
~ Reviewing for the Kitsch inside Gilman Hall on JHU Homewood campus ~ Iced Breakfast at Tiffany’s latte is a MUST GET. It’s a perfect mix of sweet and cinnamon flavor that I am absolutely obsessed with. When I get rich, I would love to try their sandwiches someday 🥺 (crying in broke college student haha) Highly recommend!!!! Way better than Starbucks latte ew And $6.89 gets you a HUGE large sized iced latte so that’s 10000% worth

Google
Amazing staff, phenomenal service and great coffee/tea drinks. Breakfast sandwich was fair-mid. Physical environment is small and very cramped, and majority of seating is in a poorly-heated hallway near a busy door. Probably fine if you're a resilient college kid, but I had a bit of a rough time as a disabled middle-ager. If I come back I'll def do takeout.

Yelp
Incredibly warm and friendly staff. Wonderful with my 3-year-old. Great sandwiches, good espresso drinks, and a creative menu. Jackie and her whole team are hardworking but fun and have become treasures of the neighborhood.

Yelp
Having two locations is great. Their new spot in R. House is really nice to stop in and grab a coffee or sit for awhile and chat. Coffee was very rich and tasty, and super affordable. A cup of coffee is 2.5 dollars. Service was fast and really kind people making good coffee. Build your own sandwich is the way to go! Breakfast sandwich tasted fresh and delicious, and lots of options, and vegan friendly!

Yelp
Killing time before our flight back home and found this little gem, tucked in the ground floor of an apartment building. There is no better way to a breakfast sandwich lover's heart than letting them make their own. The scrambled eggs were spot on, bacon was perfectly crispy and they were not stingy with the avocado. The iced latte hit the spot.

Yelp
Located inside a residential building, the Carlyle, and across from Hopkins Homewood campus is thud cute little sandwich shop. Great for a quick grab-and-go or a quick sit down Service & Ambience: The shop itself isn't the biggest, so it may get crowded if it gets busy. I would recommend ordering ahead online for quicker pickup. There are a few tables inside, but you can also opt for outside seating. Super friendly staff Price: $-$$. I can't complain about a variety of less than $10 sandwiches that are loaded with ingredients. Coffee is also priced reasonably from $2-$6. Food: I chose the "Rachel" during this visit, which was absolutely delicious. Their homemade coleslaw was definitely the highlight. The egg was perfectly runny and made a great combo with the turkey and coleslaw. Overall, I'd recommended stopping in for a quick bite or coffee!

Yelp
This place was on my try-list for a long time and I'm so glad I came! I came here after I finished an exam following a stressful start to my week. The place immediately made my day! Bryan took my order at the register, and he had the most welcoming warm and positive energy. The place itself is small, but it is so cozy and charming. I ordered a BYOBreaky with sourdough, a runny egg, bacon, and veggies - it was absolutely delicious. I also got a Split and Griddled muffin at Bryan's suggestion and loved it. My "You're my Best Friend" drink was also great and the perfect temperature. I look forward to coming again soon!

Yelp
What a cute little spot - I can't believe I've never been here before. I'm sure this place gets super busy during the weekends. I went on a random weekday to grab lunch between meetings. I got a build your own breakfast sandwich. You pay for every added veggie but the sprouts and cucumbers are the best addition to any sando. The staff was friendly and it's a great spot for a local breakfast sandwich. I'll be back for breakfast next time! They also have fun coffee options but didn't get any this trip.

Yelp
Kitsch Cafe has been on my list for a while now. It's in a fairly convenient location near JHU and Wyman Park. I ordered some breakfast online and it was ready for pickup in about 15 minutes. I got the chicken salad sandwich with pepperjack cheese and sprouts on gluten free bread. I also got a side hashbrown, a golden milk and mango smoothie, and the breakfast at Tiffany's latte. THE GOOD: Everything was ready on time and the staff was friendly. The chicken salad had a great flavor and was hearty. The smoothie was very refreshing and had a nice blend of flavors. The breakfast at Tiffany's latte was AMAZING. Probably one of the best lattes I've ever had. Somehow the maple syrup and cinnamon really took this latte to a whole new level for me. I'm still thinking about it! THE NOT SO GOOD: Okay, I know gluten free bread is a hit or miss sometimes. Some places have gotten really good at finding GF bread that still retains its texture and shape (looking at you, Artifact coffee). But this bread... did not. It was immediately falling apart as soon as I unwrapped the sandwich. The pepper jack cheese was unmelted and instead of sprouts, it was a spring mix. I went ahead and toasted the bread and cheese to get it crispy and melty and it was a lot better. The hash brown was oily and flimsy like it had been microwaved so I popped that in my air fryer too. It's a shame the GF bread isn't the best since all the sandwiches look SO good. But nevertheless, I'm definitely returning to Kitsch for the lattes at the very least.

Yelp
I used my first #womenrunbaltimore Yelp check-in at Kitsch for a free coffee with the purchase of a sandwich. I opted for their BYO breaky and got a fried egg, sausage and American cheese on brioche with dijonnaise sauce. It doesn't look the most appealing but it tasted quite good like most regular egg, sausage and cheese sandwiches. It was nice to have the added dijonnaise to give it some flavor though. It's a very small cafe for ordering and go with super friendly staff. Glad I could check this little cafe out!
google avatar

Steve R.

Yelp
It's easy to whiz by this nondescript cafe enfolded in The Carlyle on University Blvd.--but a lot is going on at this mostly pickup breakfast place. Opened during the pandemic, Kitsch seems to cater to the locals quite well. Although I prefer a smaller, tighter brioche or English-style muffin, there are plenty of sandwich choices including oatmeal, etc. I had the Kitschwich and added tomato and a Dijonnaise sauce, among many food and sauce add-ons. Also had the Heckled Hash brown with Old Bay--it was delish! Along with self-serve chairs to "chill" outside on nice days, there is very limited seating in the foyer. Nevertheless, word is they are expanding!

Yelp
I went for the first time off of a recommendation from a friend. I got the You're My Best Friend and it tasted very similar to a milky way. I love sweet drinks so it was really good. My friend for the Breakfast @ Tiffany's which I tried and thought was pretty good. It isn't as sweet as I like my drinks but she really enjoyed it. The cafe is pretty small so there isn't really anywhere to sit inside. Because of this I was going to give 4 stars but there were free stickers so that gives extra points in my opinion.
google avatar

Kiana B.

Yelp
I ordered a Breakfast at Tiffany's and my friend got a Bestie, and we both really liked our drinks. Mine was simple but flavorful (very fall) and hers was a milky way made into coffee. Reasonable pricing too, only wish there was more seating, either indoors or outdoors. Excellent service and their stickers are adorable!

Yelp
This small little restaurant is delicious! We ended up having their Cuban and Monte Cristo sandwiches which were amazing! Everything about the sand which was delicious, the bread was savory, soft and warm, the monte cristo by far was my favorite! It was a mixture of sweet and savory with the strawberry jam, turkey and jalapeño, best of both worlds! As for their Cuban, it was also very very good! We also ended up having their smoothies and their chai tea which was also very very delicious! Everyone there was also very amiable with fantastic customer service! Lovely small location with great service and delicious food. Highly recommend if you love breakfast sandwiches, they have a large array and you will not Hebe disappointed!

Yelp
Really great spot for breakfast sandwiches! You can build your own sandwich too. Super comforting spot.

Yelp
This spot was on the list for some time and a ROTD convinced me to try them out. Easy to miss (lower level of an apartment building and without prominent signage), this is a small spot with some window seating and a couple of tables in a hallway outside of the order/kitchen area. I was there around 2 on a Friday and they had some good Pickup traffic. Great they have their breakfast available all day. I was here for the Steak and Egg. Brisket represents the Steak. If there was Brisket bacon this would be it. (Thin/salty) Over easy egg with that spicy honey on the Brioche bun made for a tasty Breakfast Sammie. Hash Brown was the standard Patty variety and was good. Espresso for my skim Cappuccino was nice and strong. Since the spot is small, you get that "breakfast is cooking" aroma as your food is being prepared along with upbeat music playing which I enjoyed while waiting. Very friendly and engaged people making tasty food and coffee. Simplicity is a beautiful concept. Egg, No Egg or Build your own are the options. I saw some lunch favorites, Smoothies, Teas as well a Monte Cristo (next time). Don't miss this Hidden Gem!

Yelp
I'm a bit upset with myself - I come here nearly every day and I'm only just getting around to the review! Kitsch is everything I look for in my local breakfast spot: VERY affordable, adorable and attentive staff, and delicious food. You can build your own sandwich for breakfast or lunch, which means you can make it as delicious as possible. I'm personally a huge fan of their avocado toast. I love their smoothies, but I order them on the thicker side! They can be a little thin, but the staff is so nice that they don't mind doing it for you. I think this is my favorite place to get breakfast in baltimore and I don't mind that they take half my paycheck from me going back so often. LOL

Yelp
Food and service was amazing!! Small cute place, but the service was impeccable. It was my first time trying this place but I definitely will go back.

Yelp
I have now been hipped to a NEW (to me anyway) breakfast sandwich spot. I am ALWAYS looking for a 'good' flavorful breakfast sammy. For some reason Bmore really isn't all that great in the breakfast sandwich department. Not many good offerings. So when I find one, I covet it. 'Kitsch' has happily been added to that list! 'Kitsch' happens to be in the exclusive, well heeled, tree lined enclave of Roland Park (or on its perimeter). TIP: If you don't know where you're going EXACTLY, you can blink and miss it. It's nestled and muted in the base of the Carlyle Apartments on University Parkway. This is directly across from the lacrosse fields @ Johns Hopkins U. Street parking is the option and it could be tricky, depending on when you go but it is soooo worth the trip. Naturally, upon entering, 'Kitsch' is delightfully ohhh so kitschy! There are nostalgic, cute pieces all over. The plants help the space feel like ur actually in someone's home. There's even a blueprint of the Millennium Falcon on the wall (Sa-weeet!). I love everything about this spot. Initially, I was greeted by Alex and he was very friendly. Then I met Jackie (owner). She was incredibly welcoming as well. So much that we geeked out a lil bit when she saw my Avengers tee and we started talking about 'Loki' (which I will be starting today from her recommendation. I was on the fence... but) & 'The Mandalorian'... LOVED THAT! Now, on to the star of this review. My 'Sammy of choice': 1) Bacon, scrambled egg & pepper jack cheese on a golden brown brioche bun housing a pillowy soft interior slathered w/ a generous squirting of gochujang mayo. I added onions & cilantro for some 'punch'. This 'Sammy' was so good that I didn't just eat it, I actually INHALED it. When a breakfast sandwich is done 'right', it truly is a things of beauty... and THIS was one of those times. The flavors melded perfectly. You could actually taste every single thing on this sammy. Nothing overpowered anything. So fresh, so delicious... so right!!! TRIPLE WORD SCORE!!! 2) Pink Lemonade - so refreshing. Not too sweet. Not too tart. Juuuuuust right. SCORE! 3) Kitsch Bar - chocolate fudge filled w/ butterscotch & pretzels. I haven't had the pleasure to dive into this lil piece of Heaven yet but I mean, come on, did you READ the ingredients?!? This can't be ANYTHING but awesome, right?!?!? So I'll prematurely just say... SCORE!! Customer Suggestion: Signage that pops / stands out. This lil gem is potentially missing a MASSIVE customer base due to the lack of signage. This is definitely a winner and I want them to do exceedingly well. Talent is hard to find and Jackie KNOWS how to prepare food. Without question... 'I'll be back'!!!!

Yelp
Cute breakfast spot hidden in the first floor of an apartment complex. Look for the colorful lawn chairs out front to fb the front door. The breakfast sandwiches are so yummy! I had a sausage egg and cheese on sourdough with pickled jalapeños and spicy Mayo. Coffee was great too and the staff was friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Annie G.

Yelp
I enjoyed the food and coffee here. The Berkeley sandwich is awesome! With multigrain bread, tomato, spring sprouts and avocado. The vinegar add more flavor into the sandwich. I also like the mustard seed inside it. The service is great as well. I asked for recommendation and got this sandwich along with Cappuccino and a rice treat. I will definitely go often!
google avatar

Nelly Y.

Yelp
I orders for delivery last week, won't order again I got simple things, avocado toast and grilled cheese, and a coffee. It was not good.
google avatar

Clynton M.

Yelp
Little gem tucked away on the first floor of the Carlyle Apt. I see great potential! You may create your own sandwich or order one from their menu. I opted to create my own and I was not disappointed. The brioche bread was nice and buttery with a slight crisp from the toastiness. The egg was fried and runny . The bacon was perfectly cooked and crispy. Lastly the sandwich was perfectly seasoned. I had a hard time choosing what sauce to put but I ended up choosing the spicy honey, which was on point. I also ordered a dirty chai which was delicious. I am definitely going to come back to this place! The 2 ladies were pleasant, as they greeted me when I came in and bid me farewell when I left. Just to note, it looks like they're the only 2 working, so you may have to wait a couple minutes as each order is made fresh.

Yelp
Love this small coffee and breakfast shop! They have interesting lattes and bevs - love the maple one and delicious breakfast Sammies! You can order ahead which is recommended as it's a small space. Staff is always super friendly!

Stacia R.

Yelp
Food is always great and the staff is always charming and pleasant. Their breakfast sandwiches are a great way to start the day.

Isabel T.

Yelp
I had such high hopes for Kitsch based on all the Yelp reviews and their creative menu. The inside was certainly true to its name, featuring a collection of knickknacks and oddities. However, the space inside is really small. You might be able to stand and eat at the tiny window bar, but it won't be very comfortable. I recommend taking your order to go. Regarding their menu, I found the Breakfast at Tiffany's Latte delicious and would definitely order it again (if there weren't so many other tempting options I want to try first!). For food, I ordered the Cuban because I was craving the egg, meat, and dijonnaise combo. However, I was disappointed with my sandwich; the presentation was unappealing, with the sandwich seeming hastily slapped together, and the taste was just...meh. None of the flavors was distinctive. The staff is friendly and I would come back to try the different drinks, but I think there are other coffee shop/cafe options with sitting space and yummy food I would return to first.

Pedro L.

Yelp
Love this place. Great food and fun people. I'm old, but when I'm in there, I feel young.
google avatar

Hillary K.

Yelp
Great breakfast food, good prices, friendly staff. Not much seating but perfect for ordering ahead to pick up!

Andre T.

Yelp
Amazing custom sandwiches, especially for breakfast. Easy online ordering. Great addition to the area.
google avatar

Misti M.

Yelp
I love Kitsch Cafe! I've gone a few times for breakfast sandwiches and love the vibe of the place and everything has been very tasty! I loved the sausage, egg, and cheese with hot honey on a bagel. Pro-tip: Order online for pick up so it's hot and ready for you upon arrival!
google avatar

Yelp
No idea how we missed this place opening in 2020, but I'm glad we started off our 2023 by discovering it! Their coffee and sandwiches are truly fantastic--arguably a step above the nearby Bird in Hand. We thoroughly enjoyed our food. Notably, however, this location is very tiny, and the seating is limited. Also, the vestibule area with a few tables is unheated, which made it quite chilly when we stopped by. However, don't let that discourage you from going and getting some truly great coffee and friendly service--this place deserves your attention!
google avatar

Yelp
Kitsch Cafe is an adorable, smart cafe. It's TINY, and the proprietor is a smart lady who thought to herself: what can I make in this tiny space? The answer: coffee and breakfast and lunch (egg) sandwiches! Sadly, we were between meals when we stopped in, so we only got to try their coffee (iced Americanos as it was a warm day and we had been walking around Charles Village and Wyman Park for a few hours), but I'd love to come back to try their food! The steak and egg sounds so up my alley (brisket, spicy honey, mushroom, fried egg, pepperjack cheese on brioche!?)! You can order online ahead! There's no seating at Kitsch, but they're just across from the park - you can enjoy your coffee or meal there! They're a great little business, and I look forward to supporting them when we make the move to Baltimore later this year!
google avatar

Steph W.

Yelp
fantastic to go place for customized breakfast sandwich. Egg was tasty and must get brioche bread! On top of this, I had to get the iced coffee... that was delish! They brew La Colombe, amazing and tasty. couldn't complain. This is really a hidden gem! Only downside is parking. I had to park on the street temporarily... or go with someone and have them sit in the car. I'd return for other food!
google avatar

Annie L.

Yelp
Tucked underneath Carlyle Apartments, this small cafe packs a punch! Meant more for takeaway, you arrive at the counter immediately upon entry and are greeted warmly by the cafe staff. With customizable, BYO options, the menu offers something for meat and plant eaters alike. I ordered the avocado toast and BYOBreaky sandwich, going vegetarian with hummus, cheddar, and lots of veggies on multigrain toast. The bread on both was thick, flavorful and fresh, providing a perfect sandwich vehicle. The avo toast came with a generous portion of slices, leading to a satisfying big bite. The sandwich was also satisfyingly ingredient packed, especially hitting the spot given the "order exactly what you're in the mood for" BYO option. I'll have to try more of the sauce options next time!

Hallie S.

Yelp
I made a request about the sandwich I ordered and while sitting outside heard the woman preparing the sandwich say she prepared it wrong and asked someone else working there if she should remake it. He said no and they gave it to me prepared wrong. So I asked for them to make it correctly. While I was sitting there waiting I heard her very loudly complaining about the old man's order who was sitting next to me. He had just asked for a couple things to be excluded from his sandwich.. it wasn't a very complicated request. I'm sure he could hear her complaining too.... She was talking very loudly and the door was cracked open. Overall uncomfortable experience. It would be more considerate to maybe whisper when complaining about customers and their orders? Some people have allergies so special requests are a part of business... felt very passive aggressive

Yelp
My wife and I went here the other day and if you are looking for a place to order food and go, this a great place. If you want to sit down and have a meal, you might want to go elsewhere. The food is good. I made my own breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. My wife ordered the Kitschwich and she really liked hers too. Her latte was also very good as was my hot drip coffee. The only issue is the seating. Two really small tables in a hallway area is all that is offered. If they had more and better seating, I would rate this place 5 stars.
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
Brand new egg sandwich spot and everything was delicious I went with the kitschwich but the BYO options looked great too. There's also a handful of desserts/pastries and coffee/tea
google avatar

Andrew W.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in here for lunch after visiting the BMA. I ordered the special that day which was a pineapple, turkey, jalapeño, cilantro, pepper jack and other yummy ingredients that came together in a wonderful sandwich that was unbelievably great! My wife had a vegetarian sandwich on toast which was also unbelievably good. I almost took off a star because the two table seating area outside the shop was cold and not very inviting, but the food and wonderful staff keep this up at 5 stars.

John P.

Yelp
We went on a Sunday and there was seating in the little vestibule area right when you walk in. I had The Club and a strawberry lemonade. The Club was amazing. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Lamya F.

Yelp
A very cute little breakfast sandwich shop. Their Ube latte is amazing and the food is fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend this place. There's no seating, it's just a small pick up shop but tastes just as good sitting in my car.
google avatar

Erica S.

Yelp
Such a cute shop with great menu variety and reasonable prices. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and amazing staff!

Hannah B.

Yelp
Had such a good build your own egg sandwich! I also got an iced latte with extra espresso and it was very yummy. The staff was so helpful and polite!
google avatar

Francis N.

Yelp
This was a delightful discovery. I had a build your own burger, pat myself on the back with veggie sausage, fried egg, Munster, onion, avocado, pickles, Mayo and old bay. It was warm, cooked well and fast. The fried egg was a little cooked through, but honestly it's a gem of a find. I'd been doing Starbucks breakfast sandwiches and cold brew and this felt like quite the upgrade for the same price. Winner for me for sure.

Yelp
Kitsch is a great little cafe that is attached to the Carlyle apartments on the campus of John Hopkins main campus. We were immediately greeted by the lovely staff. I got the breakfast sandwich with sausage and a runny egg on brioche. The bread was fresh and airy that encompassed the fillings and the egg was cooked well. I loved the fact they can cook your egg in a variety of manners to your liking and they have a lot of different condiment's that fit and taste much better than your typical ketchup, salt, and pepper. Compliments to the chef!
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
Cute cafe with delicious food options, fresh coffee, and friendly staff. All in all a great vibe. There's no real seating given it's small space, but a standing bar and some outdoor lounge chairs worked fine for a quick snack and of course all of your grab and go needs.

Keycia S.

Yelp
Kitsch is absolutely amazing. The food is great and the staff is very friendly. This cafe' is a gem in the community and I promise you will return.
google avatar

Kojo B.

Yelp
I have been to Kitsch Cafe a couple of times, one i got an egg sandwich that thing was good, and the other a brisket sandwich that thing was delicious, i think i may have gotten a potato salad or somin not sure, i recall it being solid.

Laura K.

Yelp
Great caffeinated drinks, good egg sandwiches, and great vibes. The staff is super friendly. I love the free stickers and fair wages.

Rachel W.

Yelp
Hands down my top 3 (2?) breakfast go-to's in Baltimore. It's always delicious, flavorful and exactly what I wanted. Also the prices are very reasonable! I'm loving this place and selfishly want them to expand and come closer into Hampden.
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
Super little joint located in the Carlyle apartment lobby. Smooth strong cup Of coffee. I wish I could get a refill. We ordered our own breakfast sandwiches and they were expertly made with the eggs perfectly cooked and the breads nicely toasted. Thank you for toasting the gluten free bread a little extra for those lovely crispy edges. I added veggies to mine which they kept to the side so they wouldn't get soggy. super delish! They made a simple breakfast sandwich into a work of art.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! Very friendly staff and the coffee was amazing plus the Sandwich! Only con is I wish they had mugs for sale or t-shirts :(
