I stayed at Kitsilano Suites for just over a month while visiting family and working remotely. What a wonderful place to call home during that time! The historic house is beautiful and appointed with everything you could possibly need during a stay. ||The location is excellent! In a beautiful, quiet neighborhood right next to a great selection of shops, grocery stores, bakeries, cafes, restaurants.. and the beach! A lovely stroll down to the waters edge to take in the beautiful Vancouver views. I also loved the little balcony in my suite overlooking the garden, and soaking in the claw foot tub! Such peaceful moments after long working days. ||The owner, Mark, is so lovely and clearly takes a lot of pride in his business and home. It is incredibly well maintained and there were thoughtful touches everywhere, from the incredibly well stocked kitchen, luxurious robes and great wifi/backup wifi, to all of the care and attention that was taken to deal with the current situation, including the introduction of Dyson air purifiers (which are great!) He was available for any questions and just a really great person to deal with. Conscientious, thoughtful and kind. Always there if anything was needed but also very respectful of his guests’ privacy. ||I honestly can’t think of a better place to stay, Kitsilano Suites is charming, classy, comfortable and just an all round great place to be. I hope to stay again sometime!

My wife and I flew to Vancouver for a week-long visit. The google and trip advisor reviews for major downtown hotels were less than enticing. We came across Kitsilano Suites with multiple reviews that highly recommended this facility for a variety of key reasons. We are so happy that we made the decision to stay here. From the outset, Mark, the owner, was professional, friendly and attentive in all of our communications. Our suite was very clean, nicely furnished, comfortable and well equipped. The Kitchen was well appointed and even had supplies that were much appreciated but not expected. The T.V. subscription consists of a very wide range of programming, in fact exceptional choices. Kitsilano Suites are located in a beautiful, quiet, tree-lined neighbourhood with free parking right outside the door. Walking a few blocks in either direction puts you onto streets with great shops, grocery stores, wine stores and excellent restaurants. Mark messages you periodically to see if there is anything he can do to make your stay more comfortable or to give you some tips/advice on what you might like to do and where best to eat. The Kitsilano Suites website is completely accurate in it's representation of the suite we stayed in. It definitely was a lovely home away from home. We will definitely stay here again on subsequent visits to Vancouver. John and Charlotte Daniels, Hamilton, Ontario

My two daughters and I just returned from a family visit to Vancouver where we stayed at Kitsilano Suites. As three women travelling alone, I was initially apprehensive about not staying in a hotel in an unknown city but we’re so glad that we chose this accommodation. Our suite was as described on the website, and was very clean and spacious with everything that we needed. Mark is a terrific and kind host and was available whenever we had questions and offered many ideas about restaurants and activities. The suite was located on a lovely tree lined quiet street. We were only a few minutes walk away from Kits pool and beach and had easy access to local shopping. Bus service was excellent to both downtown and UBC. We highly recommend this excellent accommodation.

We went to Kitsilano Suites when meeting up with some friends in the area. The neighborhood was an unknown to us before the trip, but I am so glad we discovered it. It is utterly charming, with beautiful homes with incredible gardens - most with lots of fruit and veggies growing happily in them. This property was super clean, very well appointed, and immensely comfortable. Mark is an amazing host - very responsive, friendly, warm, and considerate. He thought of every detail - even tons of hangers (all of the same type, which is awesome for OCDers like me!). The garden is so peaceful & beautiful. It’s super close to lots of great spots to eat, and a wonderful local market (plus Whole Foods, if you’d rather), and a great wine store. The beach is also close by - all in all, a great spot for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. I’d definitely go back!

Stop looking! You’ve found the perfect place! Truly in the heart of the greatest neighborhood, Kitsilano, this beautiful craftsman home, divided into spacious suites is a dream. Super easy to access and the owner Mark and his assistant Carly are absolutely lovely, gracious and accommodating. We walked into our suite which was very clean and had coffee, chocolates and delicious jams, also milk and coffee cream which was obviously bought just before we arrived. Everything about this place says “This is how we do it in Kitsilano “ and in my humble opinion is it should be done everywhere else. We are definitely repeat customers and once you stay here you will be too!

We just checked into Unit 10 last night, and it's so great I wanted to write this review now. It's a wonderful space. The bathroom is beautiful, the space is well lit and warm, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is WELL equipped. We arrived to a welcome basket that included snacks, coffee, high-quality tea, and even some staples like cream and butter in the fridge. Mark, the host, has really thought of everything. Looking forward to the rest of our stay.

Absolutely loved it here. Check in was su0er convenient. You recieve a text message with directions and code to access the key. Apartments was trendy, modern and spacious for 2 people. The Bed was outrageously comfortable. Amenities were brilliant such as a power iron and hairdrier. Bathroom had heated floors which were an extra touch when exiting the showers. Large LED tv with chromecast built in and comfortable sofa. I honestly did not want to leave the apartment I would have lived in it. Plus it was cheap and location excellent 👌 5 stars.

I didn't want to leave. Fabulous welcome. Great host. Immaculate accommodation with superb quality finishes. There was no one thing missing from this property, making our stay pure luxury. Superbly located. Idyllic location. Everything was just outstanding. There really is nothing else to say apart from the obvious.... Do not stay anywhere else when visiting this area or Downtown Vancouver. You will NOT find anything better!!!

Yelp
I just spent the last two weeks in suite 202 of the Kitsilano suites and it was one of the best places I've ever stayed. I've gotten into the habit of renting an apartment for a few weeks while on vacation and I'm always looking for interesting, comfortable, and livable places to stay and Kitsilano suites fit the bill perfectly and exceeded my expectations. There are four suites of varying size in this lovely restored historic home in the Kitsilano area of Vancouver. We stayed in the smaller upstairs studio, 202. Calling a studio is not giving it enough credit. It has more space than some apartments I've lived in! Everything is thoughtfully arranged and set up for ensure you have everything you need, no matter if you are staying one or two days or a month. The kitchen is better equipped than most homes and you can really cook up a storm in there, or just relax with some great wine, cheese and smoked salmon on the deck/porch out the back of the unit (there are great places within walking distance to buy things to eat in or dine out). Lots of thoughtful touches from the art, to the wifi, to the linens, to the slow closing cabinet doors so when you are cooking up a three course meal in the kitchen at 11:00 PM you won't disturb the other people staying here. Only two things to be aware of, if you have mobility issues you probably will have trouble climbing out of the great claw footed tube and the bed in 202 is low to the ground, but the other units might serve you better. Also, you can usually hear what is going on in the hall/stairs, so you just have to be respectful of the other guests and not go crazy when you come in late. Just ask Mark if you have any concerns. Speaking of Mark, he is the owner, and a great host. Very helpful and professional from the booking to checking in to making sure we have all we needed, or giving suggestions of things in town. Plus he is just a plain nice guy! I loved staying in his place and he is a great representative of the spirt of Vancouver. This was a perfect area of town to stay in as well. Quiet and homey but with plenty to do on 4th or on Broadway, just short walks away. We walked to many places in Vancouver, as there are tons of things to do in a 3-4 mile radius. Heck, downtown is only a 40 minute walk away! And if you are not a walker, the bus system in Vancouver is great and easy. There are a number of buses that stop near the suites that made getting around town a snap. Plus, the airport is only 20 minutes away by taxi (at least at 5:00 am!) so when it is time to leave it is a snap to get there. Next time you are in Vancouver, try Kitsialno Suites instead of a hotel. It will make your trip just that much more comfortable and memorable.

Yelp
Stayed here for a week with my daughter. The house is beautiful, immaculate, the owner takes pride and gives serious attention to small details. this part of Kitsilano is one of the premier residential areas in Vancouver and this part of sixth avenue is the best part of Kits. Absolutely flawless, superbly wonderful. What more can I say?

Yelp
We reside in the U.S. and made reservations through VRBO to stay at this property in Vancouver, British Columbia prior to Covid-19. We made the first deposit payment in the beginning of March in the amount of 1672.20CAD. We really wanted to take the trip so we waited to see what would happen. Well, Canada closed its borders to US tourists and kept it closed through our trip dates in June. We contacted the property owner, Mark Diesvelt, and he said that though he could not refund our money because it was outside of the 60 day cancellation policy, he would give us a credit--this was in May. He also stated that if he could rebook our original dates he would refund our deposit. Our trip dates came and went. He did not reach out to us. I eventually contacted him in July because the Canadian border was still closed. He said that he had been able to book our dates, but at a much lower rate. This amount was nowhere near our deposit amount. He then repeated that he would offer us a credit. I was concerned because this situation with the Canadian border seems to be indefinite right now and didn't know if it would take us until next year to be able to travel there. He seemed to grow agitated with my questions and then stated that "VRBO says that I am not obligated to refund your money or give you a credit". I then proceeded to contact VRBO directly. I spoke with them and stated that I wanted to receive a document from the property owner stating that he was issuing us a credit with dates and specific dollar amounts. VRBO sent the property owner Mark Diesvelt, an email stating my request. This was on August 5th. He did not respond. So I again contacted VRBO on August 19th. VRBO stated that there was nothing they could do. Mark Diesvelt is entitled to keep 1671.20CAD of our money without providing any service for this money and there is nothing they will do about it. In my opinion this is fraud. VRBO's reasoning is that their cancellation policy does not cover Covid-19. That is because until months ago, Covid-19 did not exist. And instead of creating an actual policy to deal with it, VRBO has decided that Mark Diesvelt can choose to keep our money without providing any service for it. Mark Diesvelt has now received two emails from VRBO requesting a document with details of the credit he previously claimed he would issue us--and has ignored both of them. Mark Diesvelt will not respond to emails regarding our deposit he has kept.

Yelp
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay here in the spring. It was a get-to-know-each- other-better trip for my grand-daughter and me (she from Wisconsin, me from Colorado), and the house made a beautiful, calm base to explore Vancouver from --and be delighted to return to at night. I've traveled and lived around the world, and if there were just one place I could stay in again it would be the Kitsilano Suites.
