Kiwi Experience

The most amazing experience. Our guide Terrance was incredible. It was amazing the legends and history he shared every day during our trip. The itinerary was fast paced but well balanced with a variety of activities available. The included stay at Te Pa Tu was an experience like no other . The people, the culture the history were fantastic . Other highlights were River Valley , and the sunset cruise at Lake Taupō . The accommodations were all good although Queenstown was noisy . Terrance worked so hard planning everything and trying to juggle 20 people’s different itineraries ,activities and needs . He is an amazing person, hard worker ,good driver and a credit to your company. As a more mature couple traveling we felt incredibly lucky to have him as our guide and to be able to learn from him . We are so full of energy ourselves we fitted in with the younger group ,often leading the way with the more daring activities. We did a 20km hike on the Tongariro crossing, white water rafted ,went canyoning ,went on the Shotover jets and did the Nevis Bungy 134m !! Thank you Kiwi experience for being an inclusive company and realising those a bit older still want adventures.

Such an incredible experience!! Would highly recommend. Saw spots you wouldn’t even think about. All the pressure was taken off as everything is pretty much sorted for you. So many possibilities and activities along the way also. Kelvin is such a fantastic tour guide and made us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend!! (We did the 17 day MOA)

Great way to see New Zealand! I booked the kiwi experience as a 1st time solo traveller and would highly recommend. The pre-planned route made it very easy to see the best of the North and South Island without the stress of renting a car / navigating / planning. It was also a great way to meet other solo travellers and make friends along the way. I'd like to personally thank Frosty - my bus driver through the majority of the trip. He was fantastic and went above and beyond for the travellers on the bus. Each day he would lay out our itinerary in a WhatsApp group and provide advice on excursions / activities to book. He was very approachable and able to provide a lot of advice based on his experience in tourism. He also joined us for a number of activities and became a friend to all of us. My only criticism of the kiwi experience is the slight lack of flexibility. I was under the impression that the 'hop on hop off service' meant that there would be at least 1 bus service every day, however the buses arrived infrequently, usually with within 1 or 3-4 days. This meant that I only got to stay in certain locations for 1 night, and on occasion it felt a bit rushed. I would also recommend booking your accommodation ahead of time, as hostels filled up very quickly, and on occasion travellers were forced to find alternative accommodation (e.g Airbnb or hotel) which was more expensive. Certain excursions also became fully booked, so if there is a particular activity you are interested in, definitely book it in advance. Overall it was a great way to see New Zealand and I absolutely loved it.

Loved my Kiwi Experience South 15 day tour. Our tour guide Ricky was exceptional, truly made the trip one to remember and was so knowledgeable! Enjoyed all of our stops however would have loved to have spent more time in Lake Tekapo rather than only passing through on the drive back to Christchurch but that’s my only comment. Accommodation and breakfasts were all great. Would 100% recommend to anyone considering it!

Had an absolutely amazing time with the Kiwi Experience bus. Big shoutout to Mister Cowboy. He knows a lot about the country and about Mãori culture. His stories were amazing and when he was talking everyone would listen attentively. Also his questions of the day really make you think about life and you could partake if you wanted, but you were not obligated to do so. Most of the people in our bus would participate and I think it really brought us closer together as a group. Cowboy was incredibly helpful to everyone, giving great advice about activities and going out of his way to help people plan all the activities they wanted. He always told us to book activities early, but it's never too late to ask him if you forgot to book and in (I think) all cases he was able to get people on their preferred activities. Absolute legend. If I ever come back to New Zealand I'll definitely book another Kiwi Experience trip with Cowboy on the Steel Horse. Best driver of the company hands down! In my opinion some places could've been skipped, like Westport and Lake Mahinapua, because there was just nothing there. Still had an amazing trip, but would've been better without those 2 destinations.

The Kiwi Experience has been one of the best experiences I’ve been part of. I couldn’t have had a better time travelling the beautiful North and South Islands of New Zealand. Our driver Reuben is an absolute legend and kept us up to date on where we were and history around all of the places we passed through and stayed. Reuben ensured we all had the best time and got to experience everything we could. I would recommend anyone who is looking to meet new people and see some amazing places around NZ to do it through KiwiE. I have previously done group travel but this has by far been my favourite trip. The organisation is second to none and so easy to book activities and accommodation. I have met so many amazing people who have hopped on and hopped off the bus. Thank you Kiwi E for making my adventure of New Zealand so fun!

As a first-time solo traveler, choosing to explore New Zealand with the Kiwi Experience was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. What truly made the trip extra special was our incredible driver, Lightning. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about New Zealand but he also made the effort to truly connect with everyone. He joined us on hikes, taught us new games, and made the long drives just as enjoyable as the destinations themselves. I met amazing people and made lifelong memories. I’d absolutely recommend the Kiwi Bus to anyone—especially solo travelers—wanting to experience the best of NZ in an adventurous, social, and stress-free way.

In my opinion the best way to discover New-Zealand as a solo traveler! The Kiwi Experence gives you exactly what you would hope looking at the name. Especially the bus driver Reuben made the bus rides way more interesting with his stories and energy.
