Kızılkayalar Taksim – A Pleasant Surprise in the Heart of Istanbul
Today, I visited Kızılkayalar in Taksim for the first time. I had always avoided restaurants in tourist-heavy areas, assuming the food wouldn’t be authentic. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it with some local friends—the food was genuinely delicious and full of flavor.
I sampled several dishes, including their traditional head and foot soup, white beans, and the famous Turkish wet burger. Each item was well-prepared and tasted great. The prices felt a bit high, though I’m unsure whether that’s due to inflation or simply because it’s located in one of Istanbul’s busiest areas—Taksim Square.
Despite the crowd, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and we managed to find a place to sit. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this spot, and I’ll definitely return if I’m back in Istanbul.
