Kızılkayalar Taksim – A Pleasant Surprise in the Heart of Istanbul Today, I visited Kızılkayalar in Taksim for the first time. I had always avoided restaurants in tourist-heavy areas, assuming the food wouldn’t be authentic. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it with some local friends—the food was genuinely delicious and full of flavor. I sampled several dishes, including their traditional head and foot soup, white beans, and the famous Turkish wet burger. Each item was well-prepared and tasted great. The prices felt a bit high, though I’m unsure whether that’s due to inflation or simply because it’s located in one of Istanbul’s busiest areas—Taksim Square. Despite the crowd, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and we managed to find a place to sit. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this spot, and I’ll definitely return if I’m back in Istanbul.

We tried its wet burger as It was recommended by our local tour guide. Yummy and it met our taste preference. Better takeaway, as the dine in place is very small and relatively warm. It can be very crowded.

Food here was really good; I would put the doners slightly above Taksim Doner next to it. I also really like how you can get a bigger size unlike taksim doner. They made the food right in front of you and it was extremely fresh and delicious. The beef was very juicy and had some crispy bits. The atmosphere felt very local and quick bite place. If you're looking for something to eat while walking, or are looking for a breakfast or snack, this is the place.

Food was good, the chicken doner was one of the best this turkey trip. The wet cheeseburger was really good too. Will recommend 10/10!

Some of the photos shared by other reviewer is the other outlet nearby. The tagging of the location of this place is correct. Sells kebab. You can choose different breads to go with. They even have half chicken menu. I ordered a medium size kebab. The portion is large. They have many seatings here.

We’ve been here a few times, never disappoints. Always crowded, so you know it’s good! The service is amazing, they are very nice. Good food especially at night

If you wanna try the wet burger get it from here. Very busy but they pump it out quickly. Everything is super hot. Best quality is here , seems like the main location at Taksim square. Super wet and affordable. Interesting snack burger. I needed this to soak up all the booze after a massive gambling session.

Nice place for a quick meal right near Taksim Square. I ordered the Iskender Kebab, which was genuinely good — tender meat, flavorful sauce, and well-balanced with the bread and yogurt. Definitely the highlight of the meal. I also tried a few other items like shawarma and side dishes — they were decent but nothing special. Good for a casual meal when you’re in the area. The service was fast, and prices are fair for the location. It’s not a fancy place, but if you’re looking for local flavors with quick service, it’s a solid choice. Worth visiting especially for the Iskender!
