Kizuna

We enjoyed the food before I had a chance to take any photos. 😅 The atmosphere was cosy and intimate. The cocktails were excellent, and the owners and staff were very friendly. We had the Takowasa (octopus), Asari Sakamushi (clams with sake), Chūtoro sashimi and sushi, grilled Arabiki pork sausages, Torimomo (chicken thigh), salmon ikura hand roll, Tori Hiza Nankotsu no Karaage (fried chicken knee cartilage), as well as a mocktail and a highball.

Not the most affordable i would say, but really nice vibes in the heartlands. Food is superb as well (i love the handroll so much). Do note each pax has to order a drink per table. Great find :)

Have been coming back to Kizuna since the end of 2024. Great selection of cocktails that are masterfully and lovingly made, complemented by delectable izakaya fare. But perhaps the strongest defining characteristic of Kizuna is the community that the owners have built up over the years. Stop to chat with them and fellow customers over drinks and food, and you might just find yourself a new circle of friends. Thanks for welcoming me into your community!

Food was alright - portions not big and nothing to shout about - but it’s a pretty chill place with pet-friendly outdoor seating!

It was refreshing to have a drinks joint in the midst of heartlands. Very good food esp the chicken thigh fresh and crisp without the deep frying part. Service was excellent. Will return again.

Really enjoyed our recent dinner here. Food was yummy as per the other great Google reviews. The chef's recommendations didn't disappoint. Added photos of the fave dishes we tried that night. Friendly environment in a cozy space. We will be back!! Thank you for having us!!

First dining experience here was decent, carried primarily by the quality of the food. Service standards were slightly lacking, with long waits to place orders each time. Dined there again with friends tonight and was appalled by the service. We put down a $50 deposit per person for a party of six but were refused the table till every person in the party had arrived. One of my friends from the dinner party arrived before everyone else and was denied a seat at the table we had booked and offered a deposit for because the rest of our party wasn’t present. The staff member’s rationale, which he insisted on repeatedly, was: “If I do it for you, I would have to do it for everyone”. This despite the diner being clearly pregnant (7 months along, by the way), making a polite request, and despite having already booked the table and paid a deposit for each diner.

This trendy Japanese restaurant turns into a hipster Izakaya at night. We almost missed the place and had to do a double take. Kizuna is a small establishment that is filled with joy and laughter. Super chill ambience, lots of people were chatting away while enjoying their drinks and small dishes. We ordered the tuna wrap, oden, unagi tamagoyaki and fish roe pasta. All of them were delicious, albeit, a little too salty. You'll definitely need something to cleanse your palette. Which is where the drinks come in. The bartender is able to customise your cocktail based on an alcohol base. I wanted something rum based and was given a concoction of rum, mezcal and other goodness. I rarely see Mezcal being mentioned in Singapore so this was a pleasant surprise. Props to the staff for making us feel welcome even though we dropped by without a reservation. Highly recommended, will definitely drop by again when the sun is still up. Do be prepared to spend a bit more on your trip.
