Kläppen Ski Resort

We recently stayed at this ski resort and, unfortunately, our experience was quite underwhelming. While the house we stayed in was decent and conveniently located near the slopes—with good connections throughout the area—the overall service left much to be desired. One of the most concerning observations was seeing ski school instructors drinking beer before returning to care for children. This raised serious concerns about safety and professionalism. Additionally, the reception staff appeared untrained and uninformed, often unable to provide even basic assistance or information. Another strange aspect was a woman in Kläppen-branded clothing who was frequently picking up cans from the trash and behaving very oddly. Her actions and demeanor were unsettling and added to the overall feeling that something was off. It gave the impression that the resort may not be supporting or managing its staff properly. While the infrastructure and location have potential, the lack of professionalism and the overall vibe unfortunately made our stay uncomfortable. We would not recommend this resort, especially considering that there are many other ski destinations across Europe that offer better service and value for money.

Family friendly ski resort with a great selection of slopes that suites both the experienced as well as the novice skier. It’s sometimes hard to judge if a green or blue slope is as friendly as looks by just looking at a map but Kläppen exceeded our expectations and offers a great variety !

This is a great place for the casual skier or family where people are still learning. Great staff, decent capacity in the lift and good meeting point where almost all hills meet. Also good Ski parks with well built jumps. If you're looking for long does with challenges then you're better off at another system.

Great ski resort suitable for both single travelers and families. There are a lot of beginners and intermediate slopes (green & blue) as well as more advanced (red & black). There is possibility to go for cross country skiing too, a nice track takes you around the mountain and takes you up to the toppstugan where you can enjoy the view and have a break together with your alpine skier’s friends.

My first time to do alpine ski in Scandinavia. Powdered dry snow and great for beginners like us as there were rather long piste which were wide and not too steep. On some days they had live music after ski at Halstar Bar, a choice of after ski relaxation. Quality and choice of food were ok. You may also cook in hotel/cabin. There were other activities like snowmobils and trekking. I wish I can join next time.

Everything breathes family owned. Super friendly staff, amazing atmosphere, perfect stay. Maybe not for experienced skiers solo, but if you have kids or going with friends who haven’t skied that long this place is awesome

We really enjoyed our time skiing at Klappen. It is a lovely little resort which caters for all. My only reservation is that for experienced skiers who like black runs and extreme excitement, I am not sure you would want to stay here for more than 2 fulls day skiing, unless you were with a mixed party and less experienced skiers? I just don't think the resort is big enough and offers enough runs and excitement. Although, I am sure less experienced skiers and kids would be more than happy to spend a week here. Staff are friendly at this site and I found other skiers were mostly considerate to others on the slopes. We stayed in a pet friendly chalet at the top which was perfect. The cat and dog had a great time. Snow conditions were perfect and the temperature was around the -9 during the day which was nice as 1st evening we arrived it was -20.5.
