On the Grid : Klauzál Square Market Hall

"Built in 1897 on the site of a burned-down theater, the Klauzál Square Market Hall is an enclosed food bazaar offering seasonal Hungarian produce, including specialties like honey and Mangalica pork. After a recent renovation, this covered marketplace is now a bright space with bakeries, butchers, and many other vendors – like the one selling classic Hungarian lángos fried-dough snacks on the first floor." - We Love Budapest

Very well kept and large with multiple units and free standing stalls, just a pity they are 95% empty. What is there is good but there is just not enough of it.

Staff is very rude , they dont help at all . None of them speaks in english and when you try to talk to them they walk away or they ignore you . Waste of time here . A very unpleasant experience. Never walk in this place again .

The market is nicely renovated and the shops are good. The cheese shop and the butcher are excellent, the products they sell are of high quality. However the farmers market part is small and there are only few vendors. There shoild be more plus some diners, food vendors too.

The butcher is the best part. They sell home made Merguez sausages. Same stuff you can eat in Mazeltov, the Jewish restaurant across the street. Try their merguez and the salmon tartar, you won't regret it :))

Expected to see a lot more in that Market Hall, was almost empty. Maybe we were expecting too much, because we visited the Central Market Hall before. If you’re near, check it out

This is such a nice market place. It's been recently renovated and it looks great. You have to know it exists because it's hidden by a giant building. They have everything, in terms of produce and if for some reason the local sellers are not there, there are quite a few shops that will be great backup for your shopping needs. The deli with its many salamis is a sure hit.

The building has been renovated, and I can't tell if it's a blessing or the opposite. It's very contemporary inside but at least still traditional on the outside. As for the stalls and shops, there are just a few and products are generally more expensive than fruit, veg and cheese elsewhere in Budapest. I didn't get the sensation local/Hungarians would shop here.
