Klockargården Hotel

There are beautiful places....and there are beautiful places. So quaint, so unique. Little red and white cottages dot the landscape, many with a magnificent view of lake Siljan. The light over Siljan at different times of the day is exceptional.

Pleasant location, but hotel itself is a bit tired. Sound isolation is non-existing, so if you have sensitive sleep - avoid. Good breakfast.

Klockargården hotel and conference centre. Lots of old buildings. Very popular for conferences because of its location and history. Great food and staff. Great dinning area and bar and at a very good price. Complimentary breakfast was great and you could eat as much as you wanted. Hot and cold food, cereals, juices, different types of bread and tea and coffee.

You pay like a a Grand Hotel room in Stockholm, you get a standard room from any mediocre Swedish city hotel bult in the 90's. It is possible to sleep, it is fairly clean, but our room was as charming as a dry cinnamon roll compared to the photos of full Dala-romantic rooms in the booking page with old timbered walls. ||||A quick dinner in the restaurant full of young unexperienced waiters gave us food, but the mozzarella was drowned in strong balsamic vinegar. The fish and chips was ok.||||Everyone helpful. But to charge 260 EUR for that room is a rip-off.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite the few days directly after our wedding. The room was fantastic. It was huge with a bathroom that had a sauna, and a hot tub with jets. Also, we had a beautiful view from the window. If was a gift from the in-laws so I don't know the cost but the experience was amazing to start our married life. However, with all that positive, the restaurant left a lot to be desired. The food just wasn't good and the service was below par. Hopefully management will see that we were not the only ones disappointed with the food and make changes because this is a great place and just needs a better chef and better training on service.

I went to this place based on a recommendation by friends. It may have been fine years ago but this time it was not up to standard of other hotels in Tallberg. The staff was very friendly, room nice and clean but the restaurant and evening meal was very disappointing. The starter "grilled asparagus with Swedish lojrom" was the smallest portion ever seen. The burger which, I normally order "medium" when made by fresh grounded meat (which I assumed in a place like this) was prefabricated and was served almost raw. It did not taste at all. I had to send it back, and to my surprise, got the same burger back a little more cooked. I noticed that many guest had comments about the food, so I was not the only one. Seems to be a consistent problem with the kitchen. In overall for the price charged, both for the room and dinner, this place can not be recommended. There are better options close by in Tallberg.

We stayed with our wedding guests at hotel Klockargården and it was terrible. Staff had no sense of service and obvious not been trained at all. Did not even serve lunch at the hotel, you would think this should had been communicated to us earlier, we did book rooms for our guests early February and the wedding was this last weekend late August. Can't recommend this hotel to anyone. Tällberg is great and worth a visit but stay at another hotel, skip this one and First Hotel they have the same owners.

There is a main building and several outbuildings. We had a large room with a nice sitting area. Clean. Great cross breeze. There was no elevator to the 2nd floor with a narrow, curvy staircase. Bathroom not great -- no enclosure for shower.||||Front desk helpful and friendly. Breakfast adequate. Restaurant closed Sundays.||||The hotel overall is fine and it is in a charming area.
