"This trendy Kloof Street restaurant-come-pub is the perfect place to enjoy an American backyard-style grill in a casual atmosphere. The ambiance and décor make you feel like you’re on a beach holiday, and the hanging crab pots and nets pay tribute to the freshness and quality of the food. Although hard work, the crab pots are well worth the effort, and a combination of dishes to share amongst friends is definitely a good idea. The best thing about this culinary adventure is that whether lovers of seafood, barbeque, or both, there is something for everyone!" - Yellow Door Collective

"Look, we might as well be honest with one another, Cape Town is where cool came to stay. It is likely that every hipster that ever existed makes their way to the Mother City for pilgrimage from all over the world. Thankfully this means many good things – like good jazz in dimly lit rooms for example. Kloof street house leads the charge in this regard. They have a live jazz band to chill out to on lazy Sunday afternoons. Add to that quality tapas and a gin and tonic or two, and you have a winning formula for summers in the city." - Yellow Door Collective

"At Kloof Street House, the cocktails are delightful, and although the prices are steep, most are specific to Kloof Street House—so you're paying for something unique. The bar also offers an extensive range of spirits, local wines, Champagne, and satisfying bar bites like baked camembert. A restaurant first, it has a full menu, along with bar bites like baked camembert with onion marmalade, hummus and pita, harissa calamari, and gorgonzola-mushroom arancini. In all, this is a great destination for a catch-up with friends or an unplanned date night when all you want is lounge music and decadent decor." - Seth Shezi

This could easily be my favorite restaurant in South Africa. The location is excellent, in the heart of Cape Town. The restaurant decor is stunning, with different areas giving different vibes. The quality of service is excellent and exceeds expectations. The staff are some of the friendliest I have encountered anywhere in the world. Then the food, what can I say, it was delicious. I actually went back two nights in a row and was not disappointed. Well done to the staff, kitchen and management for running an eating experience on the next level.

Beautiful dining experience and amazing food! The outdoor garden seating is such an intimate setting. The foliage and lighting create the perfect ambience. The drinks are well crafted and compliment the scenery as well. The chili and garlic prawns were very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The truffle pasta was some of the best I've ever had!The staff members were also very attentive and had amazing energy the entire evening. I ordered the malva pudding to go and literally could not stop eating it!Highly recommended for anyone in the area.

Food was very good. Being before and this is the only best thing about this place. Service was a bit lethargic and aloof. Too pretentious which is a pity. It's only a restaurant after all. Thank goodness a waitress came to serve us with a better attitude and thanked us immensely for being friendly and friendly. She got a great tip. The cocktails were not the best too sour with no balance in flavour. The barman cannot mix a simple Caipirinha cocktail, telling me a green lemon is a lime, so sour undrinkable. A huge disappointment. Wasted spend..

The restaurant is full of character. One of those places you cannot over dress for!! Don’t let that put you off though… The decor and vibe is pretty grand but doesn’t take itself too seriously. The food was good. You get what you ordered. Well prepared and well presented.

We have been meaning to try this restaurant for some time now, and we certainly weren’t disappointed. They have a great winter lunch special on at the moment, 2 or 3 course for R250 and R295 respectively. We had the mushroom arancini to start, fish and chips and the ostrich sandwich as mains, and then the orange crepe brûlée (which was so unique and delightful!). Such a beautiful restaurant too, so many interesting things to look at, and they have a great selection of cocktails. Best to reserve a table - this place is popular! The food and vibe were exactly what we needed after a long week of rain and being indoors. I’ll definitely be back!

Just one word came to mind after our dining experience at Kloof Street House… OUTSTANDING. KSH offers great choices on the menu, catering for vegetarians and vegans. The textures and complementary taste combinations in each dish are phenomenal. It’s evident that staff are “all hands on deck” during busy times, and their team work is great to see. Keep it up! Thanks Sarah for being such a delight, and thank you all for a truly memorable experience.

Excellent food, eclectic decor that has an early 20th century vibe, top notch service. We enjoyed the Ostrich Fillet, Garlic Chili Prawn starter, and Fish en Papillote. The fish was “Kingclip” a meaty white fish similar in taste and texture to grouper. Finished up with cappuccino and a tea infusion of fresh mint, fresh ginger, cinnamon stick, and lemon. Excellent for a lazy brunch/lunch or date-night.

Hands down the coolest restaurant I’ve eaten in anywhere in the world. The atmosphere of the old house gives the place the feel of a film set. The wait staff is top notch and the food is superb. My son and I had the filet special; it was a knockout. Kudos to our waitress, Caiti, for 5-star service.
