Kloovenburg Wine & Olive Estate is situated at the entrance to the town of Riebeek-Kasteel and it's easy to find.
The farm is designed to be entertainment for the whole family and you will find inside and outside seating, place for kids to play, a manicured garden, walking paths and a relaxed environment.
Service is sharp and friendly and Claire is happy to answer any questions.
The farm offers their signature wine and olive pairings for about R150 ($9) in an informal process that guides you through the flavours.
But that's only part of the story: The food is excellent as well and good value for money. A generous burger sells for R170 ($10) and it's doubtful you will be able to finish as fast as a fast food serving.
The estate is well-known for its excellent wines and premium olive oil.
The farm belongs to the family of Springbok rugby player and world rugby player of the year 2019 and 2024 Pieter-Steph du Toit and it's wonderful to see his jersey up in the entrance foyer.
The bathrooms are neat and clean and if you have the time and inclination, you can also book an overnight stay in the units on the estate.
It's a great place to take a break and well worth a visit.
