Thankfully we were able to sit outside🤗 The Schäuferla was really crispy on the outside and tender on the inside🤤 It was a huge portion for me but I was enjoying it! If you wanna try the Fränkische Shäuferla, I recommend this place👍

Great food, awesome beers! I had the Jägerschnitzel. The Braunbier and Schwarzbier are my favorites. Very cozy and historical atmosphere. We were also given a brewery tour by Carolin, which was very interesting and fun! I give historical beer tours in Bamberg myself and I still learned a lot of new things about the Klosterbräu during the tour. We were able to try the Schwarzbier fresh from the tank! I would definitely suggest coming here to eat, drink and taking the tour if possible!

Oldest brewery I've ever been to, what a wonderful place to enjoy a drink. Food was excellent Frankish-style cooking, but the beer is the highlight. Thanks to Nebojsa and Katerina for the chat and wonderful service. Next time in Bamberg this will remain a must-visit place!

Tasty smoked beer. Outdoor seating area in the back was closed. Looks like a lovely spot when the sun is shining.

Beautiful biergarten right next to the river. The service was quick and pleasant, speaking English was no problem. They make several good beers when you've had enough of the smokey ones around town, these are surely refreshing. I had the sausage with brown bread and it was very good. Came out quick and was tasty. Really relaxing area to just sit and have a few beers, peacefully.

Such a shame. Great stories about the place, and after a long day travelling made it to the brewery, half an hour before closing time, as I drove into Bamberg by car from Amsterdam, only to be told by someone who looked like the duty manager that he closed the tills already. Clearly someone looking forward to go home, rather than giving customer service. Luckily there’s always Schlenkerla, and they respect their customers and are professional about service. Too bad though, as the place seems very nice. Hard to get decent staff these days

I recently dined at Klosterbräu and while I enjoyed the food and drinks, I was deeply disturbed by the unprofessional and inappropriate behavior of one of your waiters. The waiter with the orangish hair made several insensitive and discriminatory comments during our meal. Even though we ordered beer, after inquiring about menu items that did not contain pork, he proceeded to ask us about our origins and whether our names were Mohammed or Abraham. He then made derogatory remarks about the Quran and the behavior of people in the modern age. These comments were completely uncalled for and have no place in a professional dining environment. It is unacceptable for a waiter to make assumptions about a customer's religious beliefs or to express personal opinions about religious texts. Furthermore, it is important to remember that dietary restrictions can be based on various factors, including personal preference, allergies, or cultural reasons. It is not the waiter's responsibility to speculate on a customer's motivations. I hope that you will address this issue with the waiter in question and ensure that such behavior does not occur again. I am disappointed by this experience and hope that it will not deter others from enjoying your restaurant.

Typical, solid german food; good taste but nothing flashy. The brewery's own beer are excellent and there is a great view from the terrace over the nearby river.

Yelp

Yelp
Can only attest to the beer. Every table was reserved but they allowed us to sit and order their beer with a time limit. Very accommodating! The beer was tasty. The ambience was great.

Yelp
Another very typical Franconian/Bavarian brewery (operating since 1533). It's a little hard to reach location from the city center, but when you're exploring Bamberg's old Jewish quarters, you may run into this one along the canal/river. Typical Franconian food is very flavorful. Outdoor seating is very limited. Indoor portion is sort of dark, but I believe it's fitting as an old brewery/restaurant. As a common experience in Franconia, you may have to share a table with someone since it's a popular place and gets very crowded especially on the weekend. Also, as usual cash only.

Yelp
A wonderful place to enjoy Bavarian food. The beer is great and the service was top. Everyone of us (four) had different dishes and each was great. We will definitely coming back once we visit Bamberg again.

Yelp
Had a late afternoon bier stop here and decided to do dinner a couple hours later. I had the braun bier which was very, very good. Our server was very helpful, attentive, and friendly. The food was just okay (I had brats and my wife had a baked potato). I'd return for more bier but probably not eat here again.

Yelp
Decided to walk around and find this place after reading some decent reviews. It seemed charming and "German" from the outside. It really turned out to be an uneventful and nondescript place and meal. The food was bland and not all that appealing. The inside was wooden in style and feeling. It lacked charm and excitement. I am giving it three stars since the beer was good, and the food was average. Nothing more, nothing less. Stick to places more towards the heart of the town.

Yelp
I ordered a brown beer from the little window and took the opportunity of the break between showers (rain...not obsessive cleanliness) to grab a moment to myself in the courtyard. German drinking establishments can be confusing sometimes and this was the prime example, one room so full, there are no seats, another so empty you wonder if you are allowed to sit in there. The beer turned out to be disappointingly lagery and was one of the most expensive drinks I shelled out for in Bamberg. Nice venue though.

Yelp
Good beers, and it was very cheap - 4 euros for a pint? Yes, I'll take it!

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night after trying a whole bunch of other places, and then got told by two others who had done the same, that this place was open and had seating. It turned out that it was one of the breweries that we wanted to visit, so that turned out well. The underground dining room has the acoustics that make too many people in the room stop any conversation due to the loud noise. However, we managed to have one until two large groups came in and started drinking and chatting. The server was prompt and courteous, the food came quickly, and hot. The Radler was a neither beer or lemonade taste, and somewhat disappointing. The Pilsner was bitter in my opinion, but good in the opinion of the two that ordered them. One friend ordered the BierHaxe, and enjoyed the meat and sauerkraut, tho he had wanted the Schauferla, which was out. The other friend ordered the Schweinbraten, with a green cabbage (Wirsing), savoy cabbage, which I thot was good, and she thot was on par with others she had eaten in the past, and the meat was very good, also had the Klos, a sort of mashed potato ball. My spouse had the Wiener schnitzel was ok, with two pieces, German potato salad and lettuce pieces. The potato salad was the best he has had so far here, as it was tart and had the vinegar and spices taste that his mom usually made. i had the baked potato, Ofenkartoffel, with spiced quark, a sort of sour cream consistency and light yogurt taste. NOt much to that particular dish, but I wasn't that hungry. The potato was large and hot, and cooked just right. We didn't remember that this was the place to try the dark beer, their Schwaerzla. Next time, tho for the beer as I didn't really find the menu being very varied.
