Cannot recommend the Kluges Guest Farm enough! The grounds are simply stunning which includes a lovely pool area for the heat of the day and fire pit area to enjoy a sunset and nightfall. We stayed in the bungalows which were quite nicely appointed and very clean. Water was provided in the room along with a fan. The staff were very nice, and the lovely owner was such a welcoming woman. We stayed here while doing a nearby chimpanzee trek and this was the perfect place to relax before and after such an amazing experience. We felt very safe- it was an oasis in the midst of a hectic trip.

This is the best place for peace and quiet you can find in the Ft Portal area. Have stayed here many times times and each time the service, food, rooms and everything else is consistently great. Rooms are spacious and very clean. They have 3 buildings of bungalows away from the main building and a few family sized houses. Those who love tenting have areas here. Everything is spread out so there is a real feeling of privacy. The staff are always amazing and very accommodating. The grounds are absolutely amazing. When you come in the gate it is as if you entered a different world. They have more kinds of flowers and foliage than you can count. They keep everything well groomed. There are trails through the forested area on the property where you can view monkeys and all sorts of birds. The property is very secure and safe. The food is very good; steak is some of the best I have tasted here. So many of the staff have been here for many years. Having lived in Uganda for many years, I would rate this place higher than anywhere else I have stayed. The prices are reasonable considering how amazing the place is. It is a far better value than Kyaninga Lodge or others in the area. The only place to get WiFi is in the restaurant area. I bring a small MIFI with me for the room.

Our tour group stayed here during the first leg of our tour of Uganda. The accommodations planned for us were tents equipped with electricity overlooking a forest. Part of our group chose to upgrade to cabins. I stayed in the tent which I found very peaceful and safe. Toilets and showers were shared but easy to get to and clean. The pumpkin soup was tremendous. Wifi was pretty good in the restaurant/bar area. It has a pool, In my eyes, the only very minor downside was the hard beds. It made getting to sleep difficult but I'm learning that many of the beds we had were hard. The location is about an hour drive from the chimpanzee trek

We did the tent glamping accommodation which was fantastic, surrounded with all lush greenery, bring flashlight if you’re doing the tent stay, bathrooms are outside tents and it’s a bit dark walk to bathrooms, but bathrooms have light you can turn on and they are clean wit clean showers. At nights staff do campfire close to restaurant to sit around and have beer, food is delicious buffet style. Staff are super friendly and kind and helpful. The property has lots of gardens to explore and walk around. Everything was fantastic except one downside was during Christmas season there is a church that is located close to the lodge and they had loud prayers with singing and music extremely loud till 6 in the morning, so loud that even earplug didn’t help and we had no sleep entire night till 6 in morning. Something has to be done about that church music, the lodge must talk to the church to have some consideration about the guests. Really not fair and very disappointing with that loud church singing.

At Kluges Guest Farm we stayed in the tent accommodation. It was an amazing experience. Not just a small tent as we first thought. It is quite large and covered with metal roofing. It has a small covered patio at the front so you can sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of the animals. Plenty of room to move about and for your bags. Queen size bed. Only thing to remember is that you have a short walk to the bathroom and toilet facilities which were neat and clean. Only drink bottled water. Food, dinning and bar facilities were excellent. Very friendly staff.

I stayed in the tents - bring a flashlight to find the bathroom at night. It’s quite a long dark walk from reception to the tents. Fresh meals. Nice campfire at night. I didn’t use the pool but I heard it was very cold. I recommend doing the guided forest walk. The guide is very knowledgeable and passionate about the plants and animals of the jungle. He deserves a healthy tip. Bring binoculars if you have them. Lots of fascinating noises at night. I enjoyed the remoteness and seeing how the locals lived.

We stayed in tents, which were okay. Good for experiencing the sound of nature.
