Klukva & Brukva

The menu and the atmosphere looked inviting, I was the only customer in the space. The waiter came, albeit inattentive and absent, he did answer my question that the place is open. I stood by the counter near him, browsing at the menu. But he kept ignoring me no matter how many times I tried to say “excuse me” to get his attention, standing nearby me staring at his phone and totally ignoring me. After five times of calling to him (he was literally 2 meters away from me) I dared to raise the volume of my voice, but he snapped at me rudely. I figured - and said as much - that he obviously didn’t want customers, and I left. Sad to see a beautiful place so poorly managed and with such rude staff, when every place else in Kyiv is so warm and hospitable!

Cozy restaurant not far from Leo Tolstoy Sq. Menu looked exceptionally good and it was not easy to choose as so many dishes very tempting to try. Their red and green borscht were delicious and so all the main courses we (4 of us) ordered. Pies are always a good idea :)

Fantastic food and decor. I ordered the borscht and chicken liver pies, and it was some of the best bites of foods I’ve ever had. You can tell how much thought, care and love goes into the food. Can’t wait to return.

Good place. There are a lot of places. There is a bar. Delicious dishes made of local products and sources. Ukrainian borsch with beetroot have specific flavour but also good. And crafted plates make fun mood. Place is good to visit.

The soup with wild duck was very tasty, good flavor and seasoned to perfection. Roast beef burger is also a must try item. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. Great Ukrainian food!

Prefect location as meeting point, to have some discussions they can offer private room for a group of over 10 people. Moreover kitchen makes very nice riches and unusual servings. Visit if you're looking something new to see and taste

Very rude personnel with no reason. They refused to service us 35 minutes before closing. They didn't greet us, though there were no other clients, the restaurant was empty. So we just sat and waited until someone came to us. After 15 minutes of waiting, we asked whether someone could take our order. The waiter said it was already late. We said that there were 35 minutes before closing and we just wanted some salads, i.e. no need to warm up anything, just cut the veggies. He ignored us and started taking over the phone with someone. Would never come back to this place as they don't care for their clients at all. P.S. After reading other recent reviews - I'm happy we left the place and didn't eat anything there. So read reviews carefully, don't look up just the overall ratings as they could be misleading. It seems all positive reviews for this place were left a long time ago and are not relevant anymore.

Unfamous local cafe with poor service and food below average at inadequate price. Do not trust positive reviews and better pass by to eat elsewhere.
