Knap Guest House

Good Size Room. Good breakfast. Location is fine. Clean. A bit strange you don't meet host - arrived using intercom, breakfast delivered to door in morning - strange but it does work. Table in room to eat from so all good. Would recommend. Ate out at local castle - again would recommend for views from restaurant.

This is a really nice guest house on the Front Street at Tarbert. The room was beautifully furnished and I especially liked the breakfast nook by the window. ||There is tea and coffee in the room with a small fridge holding proper milk and chilled water. Nice touch.||The WiFi code is provided in the room as is a form to request your choice of breakfast which is delivered to your room for your selected time. ||Our room was on the 2nd floor and there are only stairs but it does have sturdy bannisters to help you get up them after a night of dancing or a day of walking.

Knap guest house is simply and amazing place to stay if you visit the town, Alan is such a great guy, very welcoming. You get a nice simple breakfast at exactly the time you wish. The rooms are clean and tidy. The absolute star was the mattress, firm and perfcet, unveleibable! One the best I ever tried, honestly.

Nice room spoiled by bedding. The heavy winter duvet was too hot with the heating turned off. Flat pillows- one is too low and two is too high. Neither of us got a good night's sleep.

Would highly recommend this little gem to any one ,lovely rooms great friendly service.|Stayed for tarbet music festival one of three locations as left it late to book all three nights. Will be definitely be re booking for next year.|Excellent location.

Room was clean, and comfy. Only issue was with whatever cleaning products, or laundry detergent, was used. It was very strong smelling. This may not bother some people, but my wife and I both became quite congested and developed bad headaches from it. I would stay here again, but would first see if it was possible for them to use a less "fragrant" cleaner. For anyone who is wondering, there is free (at least at the time of writing this review) public parking just a bit down the road beside the harbour.

Excellent accommodation - a truly pleasant stay in a high quality guest house. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room had nice views over the harbour. You order breakfast the night before from a form which you leave on the table outside your room; the breakfast is then delivered to your room between 7:30 and 8:30 (you pick the time). Ample parking is available on the harbour front. I would definitely stay again if passing through Tarbert for an early morning ferry.

Arrived at the Knap Guest House after 36 hrs of travel from Nashville TN. ( and 2 hrs of sleep). Easy to find and checkin was quite organized. Our Suite was very clean and welcoming. The refreshments area was well stocked and the view of the harbor in late afternoon was incredible.||Enjoyed an excellent dinner at the Seabed restaurant a block away. Massive pot of mussels and fish & chips that were outstanding.||Breakfast in the room was perfect. We enjoyed our private dinning with an early morning view of the harbor.||Everything about our quick stay was excellent. We were catching the morning ferry to Islay but will certainly return to the Knap Guest house when we can stay longer in the area. Small town Scotland is what we enjoy most visiting Scotland and how we will spend the next 3 weeks.
