After hearing so many positive things about Knead Wine’s pizza and overall concept we had been wanting to try it out, but since they don’t have a dining room, it’s really tough since we live an hour away and we’d rather eat fresh, hot pizza than to take it to go. So, recently when we were in the area to visit a winery that permitted outside food, we stopped in her first and got a couple of pies… The two pizzas we ordered were phenomenal! The dough was outrageously excellent and perfect! The texture, density, and definitely the slight char on the crust. The toppings were of high quality and each of the pizzas came together to be very tasty and amazing! We will most definitely return if in the area with the same opportunity to take it and still eat it while it’s fresh and hot. Just wish they had a dining room… also they need to offer plastic utensils to take away to use. Highly recommend stopping in here!!

We just stumbled upon this place while driving south. Their pizzas are absolutely phenomenal. This is take-out only so we were slightly disappointed that our seating options were limited to outdoors. That wasn’t a big deal for us, the pizza was still absolutely delicious. Great wine options available! Did not expect them to sell freshly made cookies, this was hands down the best cookie I’ve ever had. I’m actually kind of glad that this location is a bit far from us because I would have been a weekly customer, haha. Great customer service, welcomed by a cute dog!

Google
Pizza and wine — what’s not to love? Pizza was delicious and they have a robust wine selection. Perfect for takeout or eating in.

Google
Recommend the SVR! Great people, great energy. Pizza has high quality ingredients, smart flavor combinations. Crust gets a little chewy if not eaten almost immediately in case your used to the big chain style crusts but thats how hand tossed dough works.

Google
Great wine to drink there and for purchase to go home, great menu, knowledgeable staff, amazing pizza, and plenty of parking! Loved everything about it. This place is a must try.

Google
One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had (and I’m admittedly a pizza snob after growing up outside NYC and living in Italy for a few months). I got the trucks pizza and the flavors were just perfect together, and the crust was a delicious Neapolitan style thin crust. Would go out of my way to go here again.

Google
Incredible pizza. Extensive selection of wine. But those chocolate chip and peanut cookies-amazing!

Google
Popped in last nite to pick up 2 bottles of wine, which are both excellent! Great service. Great wine. Looking forward to their pizza next.

Yelp
Pizza was excellent. Great customer service. The place was clean. My pizza had pepperoni and bacon. Very unique. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I am a huge Andy's Pizza fan, and comparing to the pizza here I found the crust and tomato sauce lacking in flavor and zing. Good, fresh, quality ingredients overall (the homemade meatballs were a plus), but my first preference is Andy's. Service was friendly and pickup was within 15 min.

Yelp
Knead wine? More like I need more of their pizza. Pizza is tasty. Fantastic sauce, great dough. Just here for the weekend and might make an extra stop here on my way out on Sunday.

Yelp
This small shop is turning out some of THE best pizzas I have had in a long time. We picked up a few pies to bring to our family thirty minutes away, and not only did they survive the long drive, they still maintained it's integrity when we stuck it in the oven to warm up. The crust was absolutely perfect and their topping selections were refined, simple, and just beautifully put together. Our fan favorites included: + Scampi (shrimp on a pizza? don't think too hard and just get it) + Waters (think of your regular cheese pizza but leveled up) + King (no crumbs left behind) Loved the option to add on a sommelier approved bottle of wine to our order. We chose a fun blend from Central America to try for $20 and it was such a great way to gather friends and enjoy a cold winter evening at home. Hope they make their way out near Vienna soon!

Yelp
Fantastic pizza! If you in Middleburg or just passing thru, Knead Wine is worth the stop. There's no dine-in seating but there are plenty of places to sit and eat in town, otherwise it'll have to wait until you get home.
google avatar

Jason ..

Yelp
The pizza is amazing, can't recommend it enough. But the cookies......wow....other-wordly. Do NOT miss the cookies. Absolutely delcious.
google avatar

Rebecca R.

Yelp
The pizza is awesome and we couldn't wait to get home to eat it. Check out their wine selection. A gem of a find.

Yelp
Amazing pizza with fresh ingredients. Worth every penny!!! Love the toppings selection

Yelp
Ordered ahead for pickup and service was fast and friendly. The reviews are accurate, excellent pizza!

Yelp
Great winery but also a top of the line pizzeria that is benchmark for Napolitan. Thin enough crust, a bit burns to add smoke flavor, excellent cheese and cuts are used. More importantly love goes into making the pizza by a team of 4 people. The owner is the person who was overseeing the quality and also managing the pizzas in its 3 ovens. If they could deliver 35 miles I away, I would definitely order in often. Wine and beer were also fantastic but won't review them here.

Yelp
Wine shop with a pizza oven- must try when visiting Middleburg! All pizzas named after famous guitarist. Get the Hendrix. Iommi is great if you like it spicy. SKIP the Gibbons & the cookies. (Cookies are choc full of peanuts and chocolate chips which dries out the cookie significantly- not worth it with other bakeries and dessert options in town.

Yelp
Nice little wine retailer with lots of options in the $20-45 range. They also do pizza takeout. We tried the "Hendrix," which comes with roasted mushroom, fennel sausage, mozzarella and a garlic cream. Super tasty, especially that sausage and the garlic cream. The crust was good as well. The whole dish paired nicely with the 2017 Poggio Antico Toscana Lemartine we purchased with it. Our order was available exactly at the time they gave us. Online orders can be made via the website or Toast app at https://www.toasttab.com/knead-wine-5-w-washington-st/v3

Yelp
This place is a hidden in plain sight awesome spot for excellent pizza and wine to go go go. Thank you Chip and teammates, Lonnie

Yelp
Tried their pizza at Barrel Oak and it's A plus!!! So yummy!!! We had the pepperoni and our friends had the sausage and pepper. Perfect!!! Easy to order and they give you a buzzer to notify you when the pizza is ready.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
They go through the effort of preparing the gluten free pizza in a separate space but then put it directly on the same surface and use the same peel as the other pizzas. What a waste... Why bother preparing it in a separate space if you're just going to contaminate it? So many amazing pizza places over the US and in Italy cook GF pizza in the same over but on a safe surface and with a dedicated peel. It just is weird to take it only to that point. All to say if you have serious GF needs (like celiac or an allergy rather than a sensitivity), this ain't the place for you.

Katlynn B.

Yelp
Absoutley amazing pizza and wine! The staff are incredibly helpful when it comes to picking a wine or pizza. Also so friendly and kind
google avatar

Dani P.

Yelp
We were in the area for some business and someone recommended this place to us. If you look at it from the outside, you'd have no idea it's also a pizza place. It looks like you walk into your typical wine store, and have to ask for secret pizza in the back or something lol. My husband and I split a pizza. It was a touch awkward to wait around in a wine store when I had no plans to buy wine (if you are though, then you're probably in a great place). With it being covid and there being no seating inside, we ate the pizza in our car. Despite the awkward arrangements, this pizza was delicious.... great ingredients, you could tell it was fresh and handmade.
google avatar

Yvonne L.

Yelp
We got two pizzas to go from here and it was delish! I love that the flavors are so unique and it's baked fresh for you. One pizza is the perfect size for a hungry me or slightly less hungry husband! We will definitely be back next time we're in town
google avatar

Chip F.

Yelp
The best pizza around. It's the only pizza my kids want to eat. They are all 12" pizzas. Personal or sharable.
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
Driving home to DC from wine tasting, my family and I decided to stop in Middleburg for dinner. After perusing Yelp, nothing was really standing out so we just decided to walk around and decide. Our noses led us to Knead Wine, which was initially confusing because it just looks like a wine shop. It SMELLS like the pizzeria it has hidden inside, though. There's nowhere to sit inside, but there is a cute park with benches a few blocks away so take it to go and eat al fresco. I bought a few bottles of wine to take home, and once I tried them was really blown away by the quality. The pizzas were as delicious as they smelled, too!

J 9.

Yelp
Pizza was hot and fresh, but sauce needed more flavor. Crust was okay. I'll admit my favorite style of pizza is NY pizza and this is not that.
google avatar

Tom P.

Yelp
FANTASTIC pizza. We went to their location at barrel oak winery and here. The location in middleburg does not have indoor seating, which was fine for us. They mentioned they make limited cookies fresh daily, but they were sold out unfortunately.
google avatar

Dominic L.

Yelp
Simple concept that is very well done. This might be one of the smallest pizza joints I have ever visited. It has just several racks of nice wine, a register, and a pizza oven cooking delicious food. We ordered a Trucks and a Hendrix. Both were great but the Hendrix was my favorite. The size is about a personal pizza portion. It's a little pricey but that seems to be fitting of the area which is beautiful. I will definitely be back to try some other toppings. The cutest dog was manning the front door when I was there too.

Brad Z.

Yelp
Great pizza place in the heart of Middleburg. Greeted upon arrival on a Friday night and asked for several recommendations. Got the Evh and Hendrix. Pizzas were ready in about 15 minutes. Both were great and made with quality ingredients. Overall great experience.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
One of the best pizzerias in NoVa. Thin, crispy, slightly charred undercarriage, great sauces, fresh cheeses and meats.
google avatar

Fiona B.

Yelp
When Knead opened over the summer we were so excited for a new pizza spot in Middleburg. Add in that they make the most excellent gluten-free crust I've EVER had in my life to make it my favorite pizza spot in the world. I love that they also sell wines at 2 easy price points ($20 or $40) which makes picking wines easy. We have tried many of their pizzas and honestly it's hard to name our favorites, but we keep ordering the page and the beck over and over again. Great mask usage, lovely staff, excellent pizza and delicious wines. A++++!
google avatar

C L.

Yelp
REALLY like this place - amazing pizza with very high end ingredients. There are flavors that are balanced and soooo delicious. The wine selection is simple - pick a bottle from the left wall or the right wall. Don't remember the exact price but I think the cost per bottle of wine on one wall is $20 and the other is $40. Only problem is no seating so take out only but for the quality of the pizza well worth it. A little pricey but happy to pay for something like this.
google avatar

Aaron T.

Yelp
Right in the center of Middleburg. Really cool wine store and pizza shop they have the store divided into twenty dollars and 40 dollars wines. The owner of the store helped me pick out the perfect bottle of wine for a gift. The pizza was good too but didn't blow my socks off. Knead wine is definitely worth a visit.
google avatar

Shanna E.

Yelp
This place NAILED the wine pairing. We gave them a couple flavor profiles we were looking for at their $20 level, and had the best bottle of red that we can remember in a long while. Will come back just for the wine! The pizza was just fine, however; we tried the Hendrix, Page, and Gibbons. Four of us split them, with two claiming Hendrix as the favorite, one the Page, and one the Gibbons; I guess that means they were all good? But definitely not the best I've ever had, which I think is probably due to the crust--there was a lot of pizza space without toppings, and that part was pretty flavorless (coming from someone who normally enjoys crusts).
google avatar

Aeron E.

Yelp
Pizza was good........sadly, no veggie option. Two cookies for $20? Nope. It's getting hard to find affordable food in Middleburg any more.............
google avatar

Sam P.

Yelp
A wine and pizza place! What else do you want!? This is technically a wine store and take out pizza place - but literally the best pizza place in town . This is a thin crust style and my favorite is the mushroom
google avatar

Jess M.

Yelp
I live almost two hours away and have driven in twice in the last month for the pizza and cookies!! If you're not a peanut person, you might want to pass on the cookies but the pizza lasted long enough to take one picture and was gone between two people in 10min! The most incredible dough I've ever had, with the best topping combinations. 3 slices for each of us. Also the best customer service!!
google avatar

Brent F.

Yelp
Seriously good pizza, lots of flavor combinations, or you can build your own. Hot and delicious.

Lisa M.

Yelp
Amazing some ye who provides great advice on either $20 or $40. However the pizza here is exceptional and we love how quick service was. You can't sit there and eat. There are two outside. Enjoy the ambience of Middleburg.

Yelp
I live an hour and fifteen minutes away, and it was worth it to drive to Middleburg for this mouth-watering gourmet pizza! The owners, Jarad and Allie, made us feel welcome, and they handled the steady flow of customers with aplomb. I was happy to see a repeat customer come in to pick up a LARGE order of pizzas. The online ordering system made it easy to place an order in advance. I had the Richards pizza (tomato sauce, provolone, pepperoni, sausage, and bacon) and the Hendrix pizza (roasted mushroom, fennel sausage, mozzarella, and garlic cream). My favorite was the Richards, and my husband's favorite was the Hendrix. The ingredients are high quality, and we got the pizzas straight from the oven! Two pizzas were plenty for the two of us. The thick crust was much appreciated (and I usually prefer thin crust pizza, so that's saying a lot!). While waiting for our pizzas, we looked over their vast selection of domestic and international wines. There are two price points: $20 and $45. We got a bottle from each category. Allie was quite knowledgeable about the wines and listened to our preferences and selected wines that we both would like. They are offering a promotion--buy 6 bottles of wine and get 10% off the wine purchase. Rather than wait until getting home to enjoy our lunch, we sat at a nearby bench outside and nearly finished both pizzas (we had originally planned to save one for dinner). They were THAT good! I wish I had ordered another Richards pizza to take home for dinner (note to self--order THREE pizzas next time). I'm definitely joining their list of repeat customers!

Theresa Q.

Yelp
This is wonderful pizza. I was so happy to discover it. I am a self-confessed pizza snob and have been lucky enough to experience the real thing in Italy. This is the best pizza I have found in NOVA. Great crust. Well cooked. Oh, and the cookies are fantastic!!! Run don't walk. It's a secret gem. Wine is also great and convenient to pick up a bottle while you are there.
google avatar

Mark T.

Yelp
We decided to have a "gourmet pizza party" with some friends. We picked up a variety of pizzas from Knead Wine. They were a hit! Absolutely delicious. Everyone absolutely raved about the Hendrix and King, but they were all outstanding.

Shannon W.

Yelp
Pizza took over an hour (we were quoted 25-30 minutes) and when it was ready it was wrong when they finished it and thus took another 10 minutes. Pizza was mediocre for the price and the guy working had an attitude. They chalked it up to being understaffed, which is fine, but be transparent and own up to it when you don't deliver on your expectations.
google avatar

Charles M.

Yelp
Wow! Just wow! My wife and I are not often completely blown away, but the Clapton pizza is without question one of the best pizza's we have been fortunate enough to enjoy in ages. After a great afternoon of hiking we passed through Middleburg and saw the new sign for pizza and wine. Pretty much our perfect pairing so we immediately pulled to over. Thank goodness we did. The Clapton's description is, like everything else Knead Wine offers, an incredible undersell. While it lists the cheeses, it does not mention the deftly pan reduced minced garlic that adds so much without overpowering. This is not a just a pizza, but a great chef at work. It was a composition on amazing, amazing home-made bread. Oh, and that crust! Little did we realize when pulling over what we leaned when getting home and looking up Knead Wine online; Yep, the chef worked at CityZen and Gordon Ramsay in London. Before today we passed through Middleburg on our way out to enjoy everything the Piedmont has to offer. Moving forward, Knead Wine is our destination and if we hike, so be it.

Tiphanie J.

Yelp
This is our family's go-to for pizza in town. Charming little wine shop, welcoming staff, and the pizza is amazing - our favorite is the Margherita!

Nicholas D.

Yelp
Incredible takeaway pizza. Perfect thin crust with charred edges. Great toppings. Grab a pack of cookies too. Very good, with peanuts and loads of chocolate. Interior of the store is gorgeous. Friendly staff. Didn't buy any wine but looked to be a nice curated selection
google avatar

Jon G.

Yelp
Who doesn't love when a fellow RdVer and Master Sommelier opens up a pizza and wine spot near by? Jarad Slipp has done an incredibly delicious job in Middleburg, Virginia with his new Knead Wine.
google avatar

Hope S.

Yelp
First things first, huge admiration for small business that opened during all of the craziness of this year and have had to deal with unique challenges. Knead is adorable and I appreciate the straightforward and simple pricing strategy for wines, especially wines that are unique, expertly curated, and adaptable to any meal. They've really nailed the wine selection and offerings. They use such an unpretentious approach to offering customers unique and different wines that they might not have the opportunity to try elsewhere. The pizza is good, but is not the highlight of a visit. There is a lot of crust for such a small pizza and both of the pizzas we ordered seemed dry and needed more sauce. The crust is so, so chewy - it might be better if we had been able to eat it immediately, but that's a bit of a challenge for a take out only establishment and most folks will be taking it home to eat. By the time we got home, it the crust was really tough. Also, I know it's Middleburg and everything, but the price is high for the size of the pizza. We recently moved from Fairfax to Leesburg and it's now equidistant for us to go to Middleburg or Clifton to pick up pizza...I think I'm more likely to make the drive to Clifton for Villagio pizza, but I would give Knead another try on a slower night. They seemed really busy with pizza orders and that may have impacted the quality. For us, it was five stars for the wines (at least!), three stars for the pizza.
google avatar

Jay D.

Yelp
Wonderful pizza! Wow - excellent, quality cheese, pepperoni and sauce. Super friendly service. Highly recommend!

Firass H.

Yelp
We loved this place so much we went twice over the weekend. The customer service is fantastic and the pies are delicious. They also help you pair the pizza with a wine which makes it a fun experience. We will have to return to middleburg soon!
google avatar

Alex E.

Yelp
Amazing place and pizza. I wasn't thrilled to order a pizza with bacon, but this isn't bacon it is 100% country bacon in big chunks. Pizza was incredible and getting a quality bottle of wine to meet my personal taste is a wonderful benefit as well. I suggest visiting and trying this small business - where the owner is present and cares about his customers.
google avatar

Alexis H.

Yelp
Love this place! Every time i have a friend come to town, i order pizza from here and they love it too! That spiked honey sauce you can get on top of your pizza is Devine!

JoAnne M.

Yelp
So happy this is close to home. The pizzas are amazing made with homemade dough and fresh ingredients. They are very flexible in ordering what you would like on your pizza. the other highlight is you can pick out a bottle of wine to go with pizza
