Very nice spot in the center of Gent. Spacious and bright, it includes a vegan grocery shop. Tasty vegan food, the vegan cheese croquettes are delicious!

Dinner with the family after the Strong Viking event. It was a pleasure to have it at Knol&Kool. Evidently you do not need to eat dead animals to successfully enjoy the strong Viking! So, we tried the cheese burger, the lasagna and the two seitan dishes. Alle were gone rapidly and very tasty. Fries were fine, portion could be a big bigger....but yeah, we were very hungry after running, swimming and crawling in the mud. So maybe not everyone would like more. Dessert cakes were all super! Creamy and still vegan! Also excellent hummus and surprisingly tasty homemade square cheese croquets. Highly recommended as a starter!

We were so happily surprised by how amazing this place was! Delicious Belgian classics in a vegan version. The croquettes with jackfruit and 'cheese' are to die for. The drinks are great as well - we got different kinds of mocktails and they were all very high quality. We were worried the restaurant wouldn't be very 'pretty' as it is next to a store, but it's wonderfully decorated and feels cozy and intimate!

Wow! What a hidden gem! It’s a vegan restaurant and grocery store. Restaurant is incredibly spacious, plenty of room for strollers. There’s a crib in one corner and a toy shelf. Part of the restaurant part is under a beautiful domed skylight. Our food was so good! This would be an excellent place for groups!

Really grateful to see vegan spots like this in a European city that would usually be considered not vegan friendly. We had delicious vegan meatballs in a lovely marinara sauce and mushrooms on toast with some delicious vegan cashew cheese. The homemade lemonade was lovely with notes of star anise really coming through. The hazelnut chocolate ganache bar was incredible. Really tasty! The lemon tart was also lovely - what was just slightly off putting was when I saw the owner pick the tart up with her hands and put it in a takeaway box for me. When I raised this, the tart was exchanged for me with no fuss. The next day when I came to pick up the chocolate hazlenut bar, I saw the same lady sneeze, blow her nose with a tissue and continue serving like normal. Really off putting despite the great food.

The food is good and carefully presented. Service is friendly and impeccable. As often happens in Belgium, the price compared to the quality and quantity served is quite high. In the seitan stoofvlees, there were literally three and a half pieces of seitan. The rest was salad, fries, and sauce with bits of carrot and onion. Tasty, but for €25 I expected a more generous portion of the main dish – otherwise I would have just gone to a fritur!

We’ve been here numerous times now because it is so good. Lovely, open cafe that is spacious, kid-friendly, and delicious. They have an outstanding menu with brunch and lunch foods as well as numerous pastries and special drinks. Our kids loved the board games there, and we always stop by their little market on the other side of the cafe to pick up fresh produce and bulk items. Great date spot, family spot, or work spot!
