14 Essential Colorado Breweries to Visit in 2022 - AFAR

"Perched near outdoor recreation in Nederland, this high-personality brewery pours over 30 beers on tap—many wildly creative—ranging from a Double IPA inspired by the Taylor Ham, Egg, and Cheese sandwich to fruit-forward brews like Thick Strawberry Goo (made with more than 400 pounds of strawberry, raspberry, and passion fruit); a spacious patio and large flight list make it a destination worth a dedicated trip." - Bailey Berg

Dog friendly. They have food truck but no in-house kitchen. I did a flight, tried 4 of their unfiltered IPA. They are all soooooooo delicious and different. It is definitely not one of those where everything tastes the same place. They have other beer too. Highly recommend

I stopped here after an evening mountain bike ride at west magnolia and had the best beer I've had in a long time. I got a flight of 5 hazy IPAs and each was unique and delicious. It was my first time there and my first time trying their beer. It's definitely worth the trip. The bartender gave me an education about their beers and the crowd of people there were super friendly and vibe was really mellow.

Knotted Root Brewing Company is an absolute gem in Nederland! We stopped by on a windy but sunny afternoon and had an incredible experience. Their Belgian-style beers were top-notch—favorites included Home (a crisp and refreshing Pilsner), the deliciously tart Raspberry Lemon Goo, and a fantastic Hazy IPA. The atmosphere is welcoming and laid-back, with plenty of seating both inside and out. We even spotted a knitting club gathered around a table, adding to the cozy, community vibe. Dogs are welcome, which is always a plus, and there’s a food truck on-site—we grabbed some fries to pair with our brews. Bar seating is also available, and the service was quick and friendly. The place was buzzing with locals, making it feel like a true neighborhood spot. To top it off, you can grab some of their excellent canned beers to go. If you’re in the area, this is a must-visit for any craft beer lover! As a brewmasters daughter, I can say this confidently.

Exceptional crew, incredible beer, welcoming to all dogs (bring your doggo to this place!), and good all-around vibes. If you arrive hungry, they often have a food truck. If they don't, bring snacks in; no one minds. That's just how cool this place is!

Great find in Nederland on the way from RMNP to Frisco. The beer is excellent and it’s got a great relaxed atmosphere/vibe. They have indoor and outdoor seating available as well as foosball and ping pong tables. A stack of board games are a great way to keep it social - or bring your own favorite. Dog friendly and just a great spot. Max took great care of us and is a big champion for what they’re building here. Check this place out and give yourself time to drink it all in! Bonus points if you tie the knot here and stick to their roots.

Beer, people, dogs, atmosphere etc. Where to begin. Very chill. Feels like home no matter where at in the world you are from. Very dog friendly and lots of seating. Board games in the back corner if you want to stick around and great outdoor seating. 11/10 recommend. Food truck options on certain days and allowed to bring your carry out food.

Just stopped in after a sunset hike and the vibes at Knotted Root are A+++. Max, the gentleman working at the bar impressed us with his warmness and kindness. Can’t wait to go back and get more Goo. ◡̈

Some good IPAs and a nice decor. Bit of a drive and off the beaten path for sure. Sunday has jazz just later in the day. No food except for pretzel snacks. Dog friendly nice bartender who checked on the patrons frequently. Nice outside area too and inside a fussball table as well. Quiet which I appreciated. The best was the triple IPA which was called apparently I like stick inages and we didn’t like the perpetually unimpressed….well I wasn’t impressed. lol. It was a nice stop on the beer trail
